What game were you watching?

World XI
This is getting pretty close to mine. I'd probably take out Busquets and Varane for Kante and Ramos. Goals I'd probably have De Gea or Neur if the latter still has it. The goalkeeper is the toughest position because you use all your good countries with outfield players.

The return of the king. How did he go last night?

The Sure Pressure Series (Chelsea edition)

Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager
Never a fan of managers using the transfer windows as an excuse. However I think the reason he keeps bringing it up is because the bosses must be saying things aren't good enough. It must be frustrating for Conte who has worked even harder to keep the players driven, had injury set backs in key areas and the added mantle of being champions... all those things considered we've done very well and then to be told things have got to get better. If the club want to compete every single season and play at elite levels consistently, they'll need to spend as consistently. If they are more than happy to be competitive and still win the season (just not every year) then they shouldn't expect that of the manager.

Chelsea's UCL credentials
2005 - Barcelona 2006 - Barcelona 2007 - Porto (Valencia in the last 8 ) 2008 - Olympiacos (Fenerbahce in the last 8 ) 2009 - Juventus 2010 - Inter 2011 - Copenhagen (lol) 2012 - Napoli (benfica in the last 8) 2013 - Didn't qualify 2014 - Galatasaray 2015 - PSG 2016 - PSG 2017 - Didn't qualify I don't think anything about that screams we always get the hardest draw. Some of them are staggeringly easy.

Chelsea's UCL credentials
Exactly, it isn't 2007. The same argument can be used again you bra. They don't have Xavi, Puyol, prime Iniesta anymore. There midfield has a Chinese Super League reject in it. They conceded a lot of goals away from home last year to Juve and PSG. They aren't the same team they were.

Great fixture! Love playing this lot, huge history, titanic struggles. We are Chelsea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzLKkFOTwVM

Thibaut Courtois
Can't hate a guy for wanting to be with his family, would be difficult and I'm sure he feels badly about leaving us in the process. Will be very hard to replace. He stepped into the shoes of an absolute champion and we barely batted an eyelid, that is incredibly hard to do.

Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend
His post match sums up everything I feel about the club. Yeah we could play PSG or Barcelona.. but we are Chelsea.

Chelsea Vs Newcastle (PL) Sat Dec 2nd 2017 12:30 UK
I just think it's down to the manager and how he wants the team to play. Personally don't see much difference between our wingbacks and attacking fullbacks.

Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018
Minority is an understatement, I hope your alone with that opinion. That's why I said extreme.

Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018
I know I'm in the extreme minority here, but I hate reds like that. Bellerin's lying on the ground (not where you're meant to be) and in a footballing incident (so a non off the ball incident) Pogba's stepped on him during a contested ball. Yeah it would hurt, but it happens during a split second. You keep giving reds like that and no one will ever lay tackles, they'll stand back.

Alvaro Morata
His misses are bad. His missus is great.

Wow I actually disagree with all of this. I don't think there's such thing as smart diving. Zappacosta made plenty, just watch the whole game again, there were was one where he even ran the whole field, past 3 players, very similar to his Qarabag goal. Fab was well below his best last night, kept going for the same pass over and over again with no variation, but maybe the runs weren't there.

Point 2: Drogba went down many many times early in his Chelsea career and copped more stick for diving than anyone I can remember. I'd say Morata deserves some slack in the interim, but does need to get on with it a bit more. Point 3. Disagree whole heartily with this. Zappacosta's runs were incredible and the majority of his balls in were beauties, largely because he had more width and more time. Alonso for me was rather quite. Point 4: Willian was the best player on the park by a country mile. Point 5: I can't remember a single chance coming from Fab and he got caught with the ball on 2 or 3 occasions. All of his long balls just sailed onto the head of their defenders.

Tiémoué Bakayoko
Some of his passes have been borderline amateur and I was and still am a huge fan. He's just missing a gear right now.

Not a bad shout having Willian as one of the midfield three, I also wouldn't mind seeing that.
