  1. Looking beyond this specific game. Could it be that the FA is encouraging referees to act like this? Don't send off players in high attention games in order to create spectacle, make it entertaining. If a player's leg snaps in the process, that just contributes to the spectacle. Clattenburg got the FA Cup job a few weeks later.
  2. It's not the referee's job to create theatre. It's the referee's job to officiate by the rules of the game. If that reduces the spectacle, so be it.
  3. Imagine if due to his "game plan" (his words) Spurs went on to win the title. It's not okay to be blamed for Spurs losing the title, yet it would have been okay to be blamed for Leicester losing it?
  4. Looked fantastic again today against Manchester United. What a beast.
  5. Painful but brilliant comment from Oscie on Redcafe: "Looking at the score board in the top left hand side if Chelsea get one more red card do they get to turn it into a hotel"
  6. Bradley Lowery went with the angels today at 13:35 at the age of six. He had been in a lot of pain for the past three months. I'm proud of our club for bringing him happiness and special memories for his last Christmas. The family was very touched by the love shown by our players.
  7. Yes, Bradley went with the angels at 13:35 today. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-39883344
  8. Welcome and congratulations! You must be so excited! Here's a thread about Kasey and Izzy. http://www.theshedend.com/topic/30817-huddersfield-town/
  9. Romero has a knack for saving penalties. I've watched him many times internationally, and his save rate has to be among the highest.
  10. Ryan Mason's first interview since the injury. It's an absolutely harrowing read. He said Cech has been a big help to him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4500974/Ryan-Mason-like-bomb-going-head.html
  11. Manuel Neuer is overrated.
  12. It's our turn to get the Pulis treatment unfortunately. They've been on the beach since reaching 40 points back in February, but they'll turn it on for this game. I just hope it's not as embarrassing as Liverpool at Palace a couple years ago.
  13. Brighton were 7 points ahead with 3 games to go and f**ked it up, but I think the players stopped trying because they had already secured promotion. I can't see that happening with us. I don't think we'll clinch it against West Brom though. Pulis has a history of spoiling a party.
  14. Seeing Brighton piss away the Championship title in epic fashion has me worried. Surely we couldn't f**k it up that much...right?
  15. They have a negative goal difference. Has that ever happened for a playoff team?
  16. Impressive save in the Newcastle Preston game. Too bad it wasn't by the goalkeeper
  17. Ugh. The Crystal Palace win is bad for us. Now they have 38 points which is almost certainly safe. They'll be on the beach against Spurs
  18. Zouma's reaction to Matic's wonder goal was so adorable!!
  19. Harry Redknapp appointed Birmingham manager after Zola resigned earlier today.
  20. Congratulations Brighton, welcome to the Premier League!
  21. There is a much longer and much stronger football culture in the Middle East than in China.
  22. My heart breaks for poor little Spurs and their poor little manager. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/apr/15/mauricio-pochettino-world-killed-tottenham-leicester-chelsea-bournemouth I think you can put [yourself] in my position and the players’ position. It was so, so difficult because the team that all the world tried to kill was Tottenham in second place. It was impossible to understand why. It was very good to hear that comment from Ranieri because it means a lot. It means a lot.” The Italian’s side won the championship on a night when they were not even playing, thanks to Chelsea fighting back to draw from 2-0 down at home in Spurs’ third last match on an ill-tempered evening at Stamford Bridge. Pochettino, who saw goals from Mousa Dembélé, Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen see off Bournemouth, added: “Leicester fully deserved the title but now, I think you understand more our behaviour against Chelsea. Now, you recognise that the situation was so, so difficult for us. “We learned a lot from last season. There was a very bad period at the end when we spent a lot of energy fighting against Leicester but also against West Bromwich, against Chelsea, against the media, against the people.
  23. Nice article on Cesar https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/31/cesar-azpilicueta-linked-barcelona-loved-chelsea I have a huge crush on the guy. Handsome, dedicated, talented, hard working, well mannered, loyal There is no one I'd leave my husband for...I think.
  24. Wilmots was paid around €750k. For comparison, €5 million for Hodgson, €4.6 million for Conte, €2 million for Deschamps, and €1 million for Martin O'Neill. Martinez also has a decent record in cups. The KVBA job search was kind of amusing. They posted it like any regular job announcement on their website with an address to mail applications and person to contact for questions. No minimum required experience was listed. I wonder how many applications they got from fans as either a joke or because the fans genuinely thought they could do better - which they may well have.
