That is disgusting, I feel for Dean then. I do think he needs to call it a day though, he's making far too many mistakes these days, I don't think he's fit for the job. And too many times he acts on his worst impulses and immediately kills a game. Anthony Taylor and Chris Foy especially have f**ked us like no other, and I don't think they got death threats. Overbo on the other hand, unfortunately he did. I actually don't think Overbo was paid off or anything like that, he was just so out of his depth and couldn't handle the magnitude of the game, he refused to call any fouls for both sides and completely f**ked it up since Barcelona we're getting away with so many fouls in the box. Chris Foy was easily the worst referee I've come across when it comes to Chelsea games though. He had this ridiculous record of 9 red cards for Chelsea players in 9 Chelsea games, and a handful of penalty calls against us. He absolutely hated us as a team, I remember that red card he gave Willian against Aston Villa, one of the worst sending offs I've seen, even Phil Thompson was disgusted and said he's sent Willian off for working hard.

We signed Benayoun before we signed Torres though, we actually didn't even play Torres with Benayoun much, we let him go to Arsenal on loan for some strange reason despite having a really good preseason. One of the weirdest decisions from the club that, he practically won Arsenal about 10 points with his goal contributions alone and they finished above us that season. But I'm in your camp with this one at the moment, I don't have a lot of faith in Werner, and I can't get onboard with this narrative that Frank ruined him, he had more than enough chances here to have a good goal record.

Think this is a bit different though Yorkley. You know I'm not Werners biggest fan at the minute, but I can't fault the lad for last game, he really put in the effort and got into good positions. I'm not going to give him sympathy for finishing like Heskey, but credit to him he's really trying. I think our side is just a bit too conservative in their play at the minute, not taking enough risks or looking up enough. Sheffield were actually leaving a lot of gaps and a highline and we didn't really trouble it as much as we should've done. I can't tell you how many times I saw Werner free with acres of space making a run only for the defender/midfield to pass it sideways.

Out of our backline it was only Azpilicueta who was getting the ball forward. Azpilicueta and Kovacic that actually wanted to pick our forwards out from deep. Reece surprises me the most because we've seen some of his passing and crossing, you would think he would have a keen eye and be eager to take the risks. So far I've actually not been that impressed with James at RWB myself. Although we've only seen him there twice now under Tuchel, so I'll give it time until I really judge, but if I had to judge on our last 4 games I would put CHO there, honestly...

This 100%, I've noticed that. He's so much better at holding the ball and being aware of the danger. That was actually a gripe I had with Mount last season, he would spin and turn very often and lose the ball too much for my liking. Now he's much more aware of the danger and he's even better at holding it. I'm really enjoying his progress this season, very intelligent player. This is an area we need to see Havertz improve on drastically, Havertz loses the ball wayyy too much and struggles to play it out of danger, I'm hoping in time he gets used to the league. I've already written this season off for Havertz anyway, I'm not expecting much from him anymore. Mount looks like he can do the job in that central area anyway.

What you mean like our last 4 games? If it wasn't for that partnership we wouldn't have gotten into the top 4 last season. We won most of our games last season with those two playing in the pivot together. Again, I'm not saying it's ideal, or a partnership that's going to win you titles, but I think out of all our midfielders that's the best option to go with. What people have to accept is that we don't actually have any defensive midfielders that can give us a good solid defensive physical prowess in the midfield. So, we have to play with what we've got for the time being, we may as well go for distribution and retention, you get that with Jorginho-Kovacic. I hope Tuchel keeps persisting with it, unless it does become completely vulnerable, but as of now, I think it's working. We still won, and Sheffield aren't as sh*t as many people think they are, they've only just recently started to turn things around in 2021.

Agree he looked a lot better this game, he was absolutely dreadful against Spurs. Not sure where he fits into all this though. I personally prefer the Jorginho-Kovacic partnership for the time being, it's not ideal but it's good enough. But I will be surprised if Kante isn't playing in the Atletico game.

There are a lot of old school fans on here that will not rate Jorginho even after a good game. However, that first 45 minutes pretty much confirmed a lot of criticism towards him was valid. The first 20 minutes he was horrendous, you can't take that long to grow into a game, the harsh reality is, is that Jorginho does lack physicality. Even though I do think "physicality" is a very overused word on this forum. There were instances when the Sheffield midfield looked like Zidane going past him, it was so easy for them. I think Kovacic is by far his best partner though, and honestly I prefer the Kovacic-Jorginho midfield over anything we can currently play there. It's not ideal, it's not the best, and it's not a midield that's going to win us titles but it is the best one we've got so far. But games like that really show Jorginho's limitations.

I think I've cracked the Pulisic situation and why he's in poor form. He needs to grow the beard back.

As sh*t as Spurs were, winning against Spurs was a fantastic win because we've desperately needed a big win like that this season. We've bottled almost every big game we've played in. Even Spurs at the Bridge, we should've beat them, we were all over them and we let them walk away with a point.

Defensively he was pretty solid, but on the ball, as he usually is, shakey. And what did he do? Score an awful own goal because he sh*t himself. He's rubbish at playing it out from the back. I fully agree with you, Rudiger is a liability, this mistake he made is not an anomaly, Rudiger's defending last season was some of the worst defending I've seen at this club. The only defensive performance that topped it was David Luiz under AVB, that was it. I can't subscribe to this narrative that he was only sh*t because of Kepa, having a sh*t goalkeeper doesn't take away your abillity to correctly man mark. I'm pretty sure he was involved in at least 10 errors last season that lead to goal, and he only played through half of it.

In hindsight it's easy to say we were being over the top. But just after you get a goal and he goes and does something like that early in the 2nd half... Especially with how little many of us on here rate Rudiger and don't really fancy him in the side. Mistakes like that is something Rudiger was doing all last season, some of the most shambolic defending I've seen at this club since David Luiz under AVB, he was f**king woeful. It didn't surprise me one bit Frank kept him out of the side, then he finally gets his chance to start again and he goes and makes a crucial mistake like that. So yeah, at the time, it was reasonable for many of us on here to boot off. All our hard work undone because of him, once again. But to his credit, besides that mistake he was good defensively.

Trying to calm myself down a bit, and it no doubt helps that we won the game, but he actually wasn't bad defensively besides that horrific mistake he made. I still don't rate him in the slightest though, the sooner he's replaced the better.

Not upset by any means, but these broadcasters provide a lot of revenue for the EPL. And the lack of coverage we as a club have been getting for years when we've been one of the top teams in England is just ridiculous. We and City get minimal protection, but at least City have Micah Richards there now, who do we get there? Joe Cole occasionally who's biased for us but that's it really. Ruud supports us but he's usually very harsh with us. You might not think it matters but it does. We got about 3 penalties in 2015 because of MOTD's coverage on our diving in one specific game, where they slaughtered all of our players. After that referees weren't giving us any penalties all season, that's why Jose was specifically talking about punditry bias, media bias and the campaign, he actually had a good point. United and Liverpool especially never get this treatment that we do.

Not the best performance at all but I think a lot of us on here underestimated Sheffield, they've actually been good in 2020 and have won a few games. We had many moments in that game where we could've created chances but we just didn't... Plenty of opportunities and our final ball was once again f**ked. Werner had a good game, fair play to him, really made an effort. We couldn't get Giroud into the game at all, not even Werner actually but he still impressed. Kovacic another good game, Jorginho absolutely abysmal in that first half. James and Chilwell were both poor for me, Alonso looked better as soon as he came on. Centrebacks were bad on the ball, you could really see the lack of composure there without Silva, however, they did defend well.

Did well today, felt sorry for him for a lot of that, no idea how or why people are just ignoring every run he makes. He could've been in a good 5 times if someone actually looked up.
