  1. I think with Barkley is that he is a good player, but he's not a top level player. He would never be a starter here, just too inconsistent. But he would be a good squad player and has been a good squad player. I think the best option is to get a good fee for him by the end of the season, with the way he is currently playing, I'm sure some club will snap him up for a good fee if Villa don't.
  2. The worst part is D, is that RLC would've loved it last season. Last season was the time when every young player got their chance to break through, and he wasn't availabile due to injury. What a season he could've had if he was fit to play? He looked like he was about to break through under Sarri until that stupid injury he caught. Such a shame...
  3. It's still only November, so be patient. But if he isn't getting his game at Fulham come the end of the season, it's probably time to let go.
  4. I love Mount, I love his attitude and work rate and I think he's talented. The only problem I had with how much he was playing while he was in average form. I felt it was a Mourinho situation, overplaying and favouritism. But his game against Burnley was the best one I've seen from him, and he was really good last game. In this role he looks really well suited.
  5. I'm shocked at how good he is in the middle, for all the stick I've gave you about Zouma @bisright1 you've got this one spot on about Mount. This is probably his best position. I might be getting carried away after two games but so far I like what I've seen from him. I was always lead to believe Mounts best position is behind the striker, but he looks far better deeper.
  6. He's had two good games in that position now which is good to see. This appears to be a system that works. Kovacic was also good going forward, but I'm not sure if he can adapt there? But he did look a different player going forward. We've obviously had a dilemma for a while in midfield where we've got a bunch of talented midfielders, but it's difficult to find the right balance. And with Kante's form being so piss poor over the last year or so it's not difficult to see why so many people including myself were fine with sidelining him for alternatives. This formation is probably the way going forward. Havertz/Ziyech/Pulisic/Mount/Kante is a very deadly setup, and Mount has been exceptional. I just hope there's a way for Kovacic to get into the side, because I think he's one of our most talented players. However, with Kante playing in that role, there really isn't room for someone who plays deep, but I liked what I saw last game from Kovacic. If he can play like that all the time with Kante behind him, who knows?
  7. People will know that I was a big defender of Willian while he was here, I thought he was a good player. But I knew more than one year and it's a mistake, because he was playing for his contract. When Willian constantly played, when he played for Mourinho in his title winning season I don't think he missed one game, yet he only had like 2/3 assists in the Premier League, something shocking like that. However, he was quality when we won the league under Conte and he barely played, because he had to fight for his place and make every minute count. He did the exact same last season, he knew that he was fighting for the rest of his career. Arsenal offered him a contract he couldn't refuse, 3 years on stupid wages. If were to give him longer than a year I knew it would end up in a Malouda situation where we're probably going to let him sit in reserves for a year because he probably isn't going to perform like we want him to. I can't say I regretted letting him go to Arsenal at all or trying to match their offer, we upgraded with Ziyech already, we have talent like Pulisic and CHO coming through with lots of potential. We didn't need to be hanging onto a player who has little time left and who only performs when he really has to.
  8. Don't forget, Havertz is a lot younger. With Havertz his price tag also came with his age and potential. Ziyech is 27 and already an established player who was bossing the Champions League and the Dutch league. So it's likely Ziyech will adjust a lot quicker than Havertz who's still learning his trade.
  9. Oh come on, you don't miss Willians hit the first man corners?
  10. Look at that... What a difference? Remember how bad we were at scoring from set pieces last season? Almost as bad as defending them.
  11. I've become so accustomed to wanting my team to score another instantly after we go 1 goal up. But this game, I was comfortable being 2-1, you could just see in the team we weren't flapping, we were still creating chances and were solid at the back. Eventually a goal came, then another one. HUGE difference from last season,.
  12. Ziyech needs to go to the byline a few times instead of just cutting in, that was a perfect time to do it just then.
  13. You should've seen it when we lost to Spurs.
  14. I just didn't agree with the part "he bombed the title when it was harder to lose it", they were pretty way off anyway, that's why when they lost that game against us, Leicester won the league.
  15. We did well against Burnley, should probably try to replicate that. But no Havertz this time, so either CHO or Kovacic in his place instead. The only problem is, Kovacic doesn't get forward enough and likes to stay deep, so he might disrupt the ultra attacking offence.
  16. I think this is wrong tbf, you're right about Poch but the title? If I remember correctly, Spurs were far behind anyway. They just had the only chance to catch up to them compared to everyone else until we ended it at the Bridge. Leicester had a comfortable lead that whole season.
  17. And we're still just outside the top 4... We had a rough start the same as everyone else. The Southampton game was f**ked due to Kepa, he made two individual mistakes. We got a 0-0 at Old Trafford which is a good result. We lost to Liverpool but still gave them a good game. Put things into context instead of just looking at it on paper. Currently we are doing well, since Mendy has came, results have been good, so have performances. A bit null in attack at times but we're getting there.
  18. Well he beat every top 6 team in his first season last season.
  19. Why? We're starting to do well now, good results and performances. One thing Frank had to do this season to avoid getting sacked was sharpen up the defence, and by the looks of things he's acheived that task.
  20. People have often said that Thiago Silva is the most underrated CB for years. By the looks of it, it's true. It looks to me as if he has wasted his career at Milan and PSG and he could've easily been playing for the very top European sides, Barca, Madrid, Bayern.
  21. He's the Kenny Dalglish of United. Kenny was a nightmare to play against for any top side. I remember the anxiety I had in that 2012 F.A. Cup final, I had 0 confidence going into that game because he used to get one over us all the time and every other top side. OGS is quite similar, no matter how sh*t they look, and how confident you can be going into it, they'll surprise you.
  22. Last season getting a clean sheet was almost like winning a trophy it was that rare. The difference right now is just staggering I can't get over it.
  23. 3 points, some players got rested, I'm happy with that! Quite a dull game but whatever.
