  1. I just go for the cheapest ones after I paid for the next level up before and ended two rows away from the cheapest ones. TBF the views are pretty good wherever you sit - the last FAC final all that was left were the 90 ones behind the goal and they were pretty rubbish for the price. it was mobbed at 7am yesterday so waited until I got into work at 9.30 and got them straight away
  2. made even more of a mockery as sky sports have just announced that Steven Gerrard the thug who got caught on cctv beating the sh*t out of someone and got off with it is favourite to be captain of england- go figure. I don't think Terry should go - if he's being seen as a distraction in the camp why would they want him there anyway . Poor Capello he loses his talisman and gets no say in the matter. So far they have said that Barry is in the running aswell - well that says it all - no one might as well bother and all go on a long holiday over the summer Scott Parker and Jo Hart are the only players that I can think of that haven't courted controversy - it would be parker for me
  3. Whats made the matter a lot worse is that Kensington/Fulham & Wandsworth Councils ticket all yellow line parking on Bank Holidays - which many people don't know about - but you can park for free on pay & display bays so with the fact that South West Trains ( a major route in and out for Chelsea and Fulham Supporters) are not running at all on Boxing Day there is no alternative transport availible - many will drive anyway as the tube doesn't go far enough out - so a tube strike isn't such a major problem for say 40% of the crowd but for the rest its a major problem . Parking will be a nightmare so I am letting my son go I'll drop him off and come back and pick him up afterwards.
  4. I don't think we should worry too much about that - just look at Shevshenko & Torres- they alone would have paid for the extention and a few prawn sandwiches thrown in !!!
  5. I was born 10 mins from the ground so have deep memories of my time at the Bridge and understand its only a ground but I am more concerned about the way this is all happening I think the main interesting point in this saga is the purchase of shares by Mr Buck - surely the club should if there was complete openness to the vote stayed away from the CPO - why purchase all of a sudden 100 shares in April( who know how many others connected with the club have also bought them) then spring on the CPO owners only the minimum time to respond - as an astute business they would have had access to the list of shreholders and would have know that the list was severely out of date - it would be interesting to know how many shares have been bought since Apr this year and in what quantities surely all shares should have been suspended from being purchased as soon as the details were made public - it cannot now be impartial . What you should be asking him is why but them in the first place and why try to force a yes vote if you are being open and honest - I can't believe anyone would vote yes without at first finding out why only the minimum time has been given why the vote can't be delayed until all shareholders or their beneficiaries ahve been contacted and why the hell didn't the chairman of the CPO let other shareholders know that there had been a unusual flurry of activity on the buying front £100 when they were issued was a lot of money a ten grand to Mr Buck now to sway the vote is peanuts. Why also say if you don't say yes you won't get your name on the wall or a st - that is a bribe - wheres the impartiality of that . Unfortunately they will get what they want by any means - it makes no difference to them whether its you who retains their seat or a succession of chinese who come once a year someone will pay the prices - ask the old debeture holders at Highbury how they were stiched up with the seats they were given at the emirates and how its like a ghost stadium only interested in bums on seats not loyalty. just ask the russians who gave up their shares to the oligarchs in returm for food unwittingly - no one gets that rich that quickly by being completely honest and to be fair the CPO will be brushed aside and the way Chelsea have gone about the whole things says just that. If they really wanted it to be fair they would have given plenty of time if knowing in April they were going to do this and they wouldn't have put the 2020 clause in. I am not against moving I just think there is always an ulterior motive when companies behave like this - the motive its that its Abramovich's club not yours and the little annoyance of not owning the freehold can be easily got round with some clever thinking and an unlimited supply of lawyers something they know teh CPO cannot fight against Once signed over Chelsea could move to Moscow and you wouldn't be able to do a thing about it or at any time in the future the players can be sold Cobham and wherever the new ground is can be sold and there is nothing anyone can do about it - the price of property may be worth more that the football club and any future buyer of the club can do what they like if Mr A decides to sell Hold on to them until you are happy that their initial purpose in saving Chelsea is upheld - to sell for your name on a wall in a souless stadium that none of us can afford to go to is not what it was all about.
  6. Just about right for a Chelsea that doesn't care anymore telling a ST Holder of 20 years that their son needed to buiild up loyalty points on his own even though he's only 9 to be able to apply for one then having so many people not renewing that its down to no points Thanks a lot Chelsea you can keep it now- we weren't worthy then so we'll stick with a few away games a season Maybe a good thing would be to write to those who didn't renew and ask why - might be some interesting insight
  7. well ony renewed two not my Hubbies He decided that I shouldn't even bother emailing Chelsea about the move to the Family Section and that they could stuff it after I told him how unhelpful they were on the phone So after 20 years it is no more He's gonna get a membership for him and Franco and just go to away games and share the other two st with me and my dad I think this will be the last year for us also Sad but a reality check
  8. Andy we are thinking of sharing if as per my previous post my son can;t get a ticket in the family stand and they won't let my husband move - he will give up his one altoghether That would leave us with one adult and one senior which means out of one child one senior and two adults we can share the games and save £880 a year plus probably £300 a year on cup games Its sad but with no certainty of work its becoming a luxury we can ill afford for the three tickets this year it would cost us £2140 just for the ST Away games are like the old days and I'd much rather do 7 or 8 of them a year tbf Am gonna send the email to Chelsea today about the move and I'll let you know the response
  9. This is a transcript of a conversation I had with the Box Office the other day Me : " Hi I wonder if you could help me both myself my husband my father and my father in law are Season Ticket Holders and I wanted to know how my Husband can move from the MHL to the Family Stand so my Son can get a ST and they can sit together BO : " Is he a member and has he accumulated lots of points " Me : " No he can't be as we are all ST holders and as he is only 9 I can't let him sit on his own" BO : " Oh sorry but he needs to be a member with points to apply for a ST" Me " How does he do that then as I've just explained" BO : Sorry don't know do you know anyone that can take him as a member so he can get points next season!!! Me ??? NO as I just explained we are all ST already- should I ask a random stranger perhaps??? BO : NOthing we can do then as no ST holders are allowed to move only for medical conditions Me : " So how do you expect children of the future of current ST Holders for between 14-40 years can become fans then - or aren't you that bothered about loyalty" BO " Well we would normally expect you to apply as a group together" Me " Yes but son is only 9 and I have had my ST since 1997 my Husband 1994 and my father in law since the 60's- surely there is someone higher up who I can talk to about this - as this doesn't fit into your one shoe fits all scenario" Bo " I'll go ask my supervisor" Wait BO " He can't speak to you but says send the general email address an email stating what you've told me and he'll have a look at it if he can - but I don't think there is anything we can do Yeah thanks Chelsea much bloody help there So I am expected only to become a ST holder when my child is old enough to want to go or I should be a totally irresponsible parent and let him sit on his own in a diff stand possibly so he can build up enough loyalty points of his own - but then once he has got 90+ points has no one to sit with as they won't let any of us move to the Family Stand in the first place and therefore he can't have a ST anyway Honestly you couldn't make it up
  10. God this could go on forever If nothing of this story were true - Terry wouldn't have had to try and fail to get a high court injunction to try and stop the scum printing it If it was all a lie then they would have been sued for slander - What they are apologising for is a small section of what they printed they don't have to apologise for anything that is true no matter how sensationalised it is so hence why not having to print it across the front pages They are apologising to her really not him. If what was printed were false Terry the Lionheart and his advisers would have fought with every penny he had left to have cleared his name and to keep the captains armband he had worn with pride He chose not to so some of it- sensationalised or not must have been true - knowing it would damage England even more had he of fought it knowing he couldn't win Its done he paid the price Chelsea stood by him - that's all that matters
  11. Yep he seems a really down to earth kid - met him at Clapham Junction the other week he seemed genuinly surprised that someone recognised him - Franco ( my son - aged 9 and a budding defender) went up and asked him for his autograph - he seemed really chuffed and stood talking to him until his train came Good luck to him and wish him a long and illustrious career at Chelsea - lets hope the additional money doesn't go to his head and he ends up plastered across the tabloids like so many young English players seem to do. Lets hope there are more good news stories coming from the academy in the future
  12. I signed Franco up to the free training sessions they were offering in London for kids near my mums in Chelsea and blow me he was the only one who turned up This was meant to be for "underpriviliedged kids" ok so I registered him under my mums address( to get around the fact that he's not ) but either they didn't publicise it very well or the parents off the estates couldn't be bothered to drop their kids off or are all on holidays ( something that many of us workers can't afford at the moment) It was a shame as the coaches really wanted to give some kids a chance to experience the training Chelsea provide at their Community "Soccer" Schools for those who can't afford the £90 a week and maybe unearth a gem of the future and it turns out my little one gets an 1.5hr personal coaching session The fanatic that he is - is going back tomorrow for some more 1-2-1 coaching
  13. Anyone notice that Kalou was no11 A typo or is Drogba changing shirts? Seems a little strange as there were loads of pre printed kits with Drogba 11 on them in the megastore - maybe he'll have to do a Bentner and pay for them to be reprinted
  14. Yep ours too - easier than I thought it would be
  15. I think you need to read the posts properly I was making a general assumption that those peolpe who have been going for years and paying their money do deserve to get first priority The fact that I am only 35 and have had a ST for 13 years isn't that bad seeing as I was at UNi until 21 so not earning enough to get one before and have stated in my posts as well that before that I just used to turn up with my mates Its not a snobby attitude its like most things in life first come first served - the bloke starts his life on the forum moaning that he can't get a ticket over ST holders when he knows the rules at the beginning - thats what I took offense to In fact I am sticking up for people who have joined the chelsea family as you can see in my post so your point their is "fruitless also" As i said before I couldn't care less who sat next to me as long as they enjoy and come back for more So I say that your last post is pretty fruitless and we'll beg to differ and also I can't be arsed to converse anymore with someone who thinks it ok to offend anyone
  16. I see your point there but if those companies didn't pay £millions for their boxes or thousands for their seats we would have to pay thousands for ours and single tickets would be in the hundreds - they pay more and we pay less so I'm happy in that respect - they allow us to continue to go It would be great to go back but thats not gonna happen
  17. Pudge is the nickname of a girl in an american film set in the 60's about 4 girls going on a summer vacation to Mrytle Beach- its called Shag and starred Bridget Fonda ( a bit like Grease ) she is the pudgy one and as that was a mirror image of me and my best mates and there were three of us with same first names ( Sarah) thats the nickname that stuck for me
  18. I take offence to that - firstly I am a woman so I don't stand and piss up someones trouser leg and in 82 I was only 8 so wasn't there either what I have done is since I left Uni in 97 I have had a ST ever since - I don't care about JCL's- I was probably one in 1997 to many on here but everyone has to start somewhere ( prior to that I used to go when memberships weren't needed and you could just turn up or bunk in ) I'm sure many will become as passionate and their children will be supporters for life too - its the way of the world and like everything we have to adapt - peolpe slag off Corporate ST Holders but when I was on the plain to Stockholm I met two men in their 60's who were Corporate ST Holders the types many on here slag off but they had been fans all their lives - they were in Athens in 1971 and stayed for the replay living off food donations from the locals- the only diff being they had made something out of their lives and we barrack them for it What I was replying to was that a member who has been to every game couldn't understand why he didn't get a ticket over ST Holders -its clear if as he said he had 100 points then he must have been to an awful lot of games but for whatever reason doesn't have a ST - so no he shouldn't get priority because those are the rules set at the beginning of the season and he knew that Members who amass points do have the chance every year to apply for a ST in fact if I remember last year they offered it to Members with 50 points or more in the end so 10 cup games at £250 in total and you can get a ST - not a bad deal if you ask me - but at every other big club just as ours there are rules - put your money up front get priority just as members get priority over non members At Man U to have any chance of getting a Cup Final ticket you have to be a ST Holder, away ST Holder and or have gone to all cup games away etc etc - the rules are set at the beginning of the year to try and be the fairest I don't like the fact that someone can pay £25 for a membership and get the same chance of an away ticket as me - but how else are CFC gonna sell memberships so we have to take it What I was trying to say is that those people who have put their hard earned cash up year after year do deserve to get priority over those that select games We sacrifice a big family holiday every year as we choose our ST's instead - maybe those who have memberships chose differrently but if you really want a Cup Final Ticket get a ST or stop moaning I couldn't care less who sits in the seats at SB as long as they enjoy the occasion and want to come back for more - isn't that what its all about
  19. yep there was a piece in either the mail or express a couple of weeks ago about the fire interviewing Gaby Yorath as she was in the stand with her mum and brother when her Dad was the manager at the time - quite a moving piece and a tragic event - thoughts are with all those who were involved
  20. you mean ST holders who pay their money up front every year and may have done so for 15+ /25+ years when we were sh*te, penned up with electric fences and generally asked to save the bridge with a bucket over someone who has ammased points by going to mickey mouse cup games for reduced prices and getting 5 points a game for it - oh shame - if you are so knarked you have 100 points you should be able to apply for a season ticket next year then you will be able to try for one - not all season ticket holders got one anyway - I don't like the fact that members get to apply for away games without having to have any points at all but the club wants to sell more memberships so they do - try telling other clubs ST Holders that members get the same priority for away games and they laugh Thems the rules
  21. well he got away with keeping the last story about his wife hushed up - everyone up there knew it was true and we have a scouser working for us who knew the guy involved personally so he's( Gerrard) trying to do it again on the same grounds as JT that it would hurt his reputation and his family's- its the NOTW thats trying to print it Its already been in the glossys OK I THink that they are splitting up but why oh why would she swap him for a derby county player - he wouldn't be able to pay her monthly clothes bill from Cricket nor the £1000's she spends on the kids clothes a mth from a v posh kids shop up there. Capello will have a problem once again Lamps - no hes been caught numerous times doing the same thing Rooney - has a penchance for Octagenarians Cole - haven't got enough fingers left to count how many times Running out of Senior Players who haven't been unfaithful- still he knew that when he did it to JT so its his own fault BUt as we all know its one rule for Chelsea and one for the rest so I fully expect the Judge to stick by Gerrard and not pring the story save hurting his ickle feelings
  22. well what a jokr that was - finally got through but by time system could cope after selecting £40 ones none left - managed to get £85 ones!!!- so no food for us this week Never again will I wait for my Dad cause he's 2 points short - what a joke - if as someone above says they got theirs yesterday with 63 points whats the point- Its my Dad's fault but got there in the end - doubt theres any left now Better do a car boot sale to recoup the ridiculous price the FA charge
  23. Just spoke to the box office as although I have 89 points and my hubby has 75 my Dad only has 65 so won't be able to buy until tomorrow Checked to see if there was enough to cover all ST Holders as it doesn't make it clear on the website and they said that the 25k has to cover Corporate and the club as well so there may not be enough for ST Holders -although they can't tell how many the club and corporate have taken yet??? I will have to risk waiting until tomorrow as my son is having my Dad's and don't want obviously to leave him to sit on his own ( hes only 9) or I wish they would make it clear from the beginning as I'm sure it will be a mad scramble in the morning
