  1. In regards to Mr Durham and all the other red tinted journos No one mentioned the discraceful behaviour by Silvestre picking up tufts of grass and sprinkling them in ballacks face whilst he was waiting to take the pen nor van de sar and his unsporting tactics Nor the fact that the mancs left the field without even acknowledging their supporters - not one Worst than schoolkids should be made to re imburse the poor b******s that made the trip on the Guildford via Epsom service!!!
  2. Pudge replied to Alan's topic in General Chelsea FC
If I remember rightly The FA stated that shirts must have a two year life span to protect the consumer - I mean how many shirts have the Magpies had in Black & White Stripes Franco gets ones every year because his birthday is at the end of June so one year home and one year away - plus the 3rd kit if he likes it for xmas but £90 every year for the home kit named and badged for a 7 year old is a bit strong ( my parents and My aunt split the cost and that's all he wants) but if youv'e got two or three kids its all a bit much They may not sell as many in the UK as abroad as the retail industry is in freefall and clothes are really the first additional luxury to go Saying that the amount of times they get muddy and washed they need a new one every year
  3. 4th generation Chelsea Born 5mins from the ground When I was about 9 instead of going to Battersea Park i dragged my mates along to the shed - either bunked in or waited until half time and got in for nothing -stood on the railings by the tea bar and that was it I was hooked My dad went when he was little remembers sitting on the dog track to watch the ga,es His uncle played for Fulham and Leyton Orient ( scored the winner in a 3rd round of the FA Cup in the 50's) and he himself was at Fulham till he was 19 and was a schoolboy with Jimmy Greeves for Middx County Worked at bar one east lower doing the beer stall (Hofmeister Cans) for a couple of years in the mid-late 80's Got a ST when I left Uni in 1997 and that was it been addicted ever since I was an only child so if it wasn't stamford bridge I was at it was watching the pub team on a sunday morning at Dukes Meadows in Chiswick (Pub the "Magpie and Stump" on the King's Road) I took our Son Franco to his first game at Palace away pre season aged 2 - he loves it and he's been hooked ever since - he shares a ticket with my Dad now - he has no choice - (There's no red allowed in our house apart from an england kit!!)
  4. Hi Guys Have spoken to a friend who travels to Russia at leats once a mth on business If you are planning to stay in another city and travel around you must register with the local police your wereabouts if you are leaving a particular city or staying in one for more than 2 days there is no way they will be able to process all the visas in time hence why they are doing them at chelsea when you buy your tickets ( if results = final) I have looked for packages and the best I could find were £969 each for 2 nights on travelocity Having done the stockholm trip I may find that going with the club may be the only real option - i don't think a back street 1 star in moscow may be quite as safe as in some other more developed european cities Have found some reasonable flights but they are really hiking up the rates at the hotels £400 a room a night at the holiday Inn!!! Have located some apartments that will sleep 4-6 so that would only work out at £75 each per night There is also a cruise ship charging £330 for the two nights but doesn't explain if that is per person or per cabin A wait and see on all fronts is best at present its not worth risking £1k on something we may not need!!!
  5. I voted for Grant out finish second Not for one minute do I ever think we should lose just to get rid of the guy but Honestly - we don't deserve to win it - the Mancs have outclassed everyone and it would go down as the worst team ever to win if by some stroke of luck or misfortune that we actually lift the silverware This season's football has been the worst display of overpaid lacklustre performances I think I have ever witnessed I said to my other half last night You can't blame him for it all the players need to shoulder lots of the blame - their passion and team spirit has been non exisitent for much of the season - its not his fault RA sacked JM -its not his fault that he has two coaches who couldn't be more different in style and temperament if they tried -its not his fault he clearly isn't up to it( oh sorry that bit is!!!) In fact it could be said that maybe they ( the team) dilberately played bad in order for the new gaffer to be given his P45 and no matter how bad they played they still ended up second!!! ( shows how bad the rest really are!!!) I just hope they don't win it at SB when we play them Just Couldn't bear it
  6. Point 4 What's wrong with Females at games although on TV it did seem that there were more women than men there It should read - No females unless they are STH or True Blue Members who aren't just there because their bloke got two freebies and had no one else to take I think we have to ask why many of us old fashioned STH's are not attending the games my reasons are a) the prices are more than I pay for a game per ST B) I'm sick of standing next to a foul mouthed JCL who's mate supports the opposing side or asks what the name of the player was that scored the goal- who stands up whatever because he did it 20 years ago when he last went to football and then abuses the regulars becuase the old girl and the bloke who is v vertially challenged in the rows near me can't see a bloody thing c) we are not playing well and seeing as Mr Brown is bleeding me dry at the moment - I'll keep the pennies for my ST and hold onto that until i'm working for nothing or I bugger off like all the sane people off to a better life!!!
  7. On personal experience and living in the area for many years I would reccomend the "Conrad " at Chelsea Harbour All the rooms are suites the views are superb the balconies overlook the harbour and the thames and if the sun is shining there is no better place and the service is second to none both at the concierge and the restuarant There are always famous people staying there so it has a good reputation. I know there are new owners but have heard no differing opinions since - its now called the wyndham We used it after our wedding for 2 nights and I think it was £250 a night including breakfast but I am sure you can get deals Worth a try I looked at say sat 13th sept 08 River view £239 per room per night Non river view £189 per room per night Its at the bottom of Lots road so 10 mins max from the ground
  8. I hold my hands up on that one we just wanted to get the hell out of there before the scum got to the trains - it could have turned nasty with them celebrating and with Franco with us we didn't want to hang around I think maybe people didn't want to stay and clap the losers as they didn't lose to a better side they lost because they didn't play well - In terms of the noise We were seated one row from the back and the stewards asked the back row to sit down - to which everyone turned round to the wall and apaologised for obstructing its view People are now so split up that we could never get an atmosphere going - maybe implementing a singing section at big games would help - just like the shed initiative. Sad days when you have to do things like that It summed it up on the way to the station A severly disabled chelsea supporter in a wheelchair with breathing apparatus on - must have taken one hell of an effort for him to get there and back and the players wonder why no one clapped them Rockets up arses springs to mind!!! At the end of the day Tottenham both the players and the fans wanted it more than us
  9. Well I must say that although Franco's first experience was not the best he got to meet his namesake yesterday Before the game we were walking up the steps round the back of the stadium to get a programme when people kept calling out Franco to which my liitle one said who's calling my name - it wasn't him they were calling but Mr Zola. My Franco rushed and introduced himself and tried to get his autograph to which blumbering men of 50 ish rushed in to crowd round Zola and off Franco trudged not getting much more than - Hi Mr Zola I'm Franco and I'm named after you to which Zola just smiled. He did however get Gigi's autograph as the poor man was ignored as everyone clambered to meet the great man I think Gigi was surprised anyone recognised him - I said " We would have won the league if you hadn't have got injured - a real shame " Franco walked off with a smile on his face and hopefully brightened up the day of a footballer forgotten by the glory hunters. Hope you choke on your autographs you overweight numptys !!!
  10. got ours on ST points 90,77 & 74 my dad's given his to Franco so he's so excited Dad went and queued up - don't like online - have never got tickets for away games can never get through so my dad queues up from about 6am when there are not many tickets Luckily enough he only lives 10 mins from the ground Thanks Dad!!!
  11. Call your airlines as Athens has experienced heavy snow falls and the airport has been closed all yesterday and until just now (this is not a joke) My husband has been stuck at Rhodes airport since 6pm clock yesterday and they are still there now - they left heathrow at 12.30 lunchtime yesterday and they are still not there yet ( flight was dirverted to Rhodes for safety reasons) My father in law's flight this morning has been cancelled from Gatwick and they have been told to go back tomorrow in the hope they can get them on a flight in time A complete nightmare from start to finish I wonder when the players will get there!!!
  12. yes the famous sardinian
  13. Just to say I have been at Cobham for a couple of days as my little one is doing a training course there What an amazing place the scale of it is just unbelievable in fact the bit for the first teamers pales in comparison to the rest of the place I was talking to one of the coaches this morning who was showing me what is still being developed - including astroturf specifically for the girls and academy groups A reservoir so that they can catch and store water for the pitches in the event of a hose pipe ban The pitches of the academy are immaculate Each age group has its own section which is nowhere near where the regular academy boys train - all sections for each specfic year group They also have a pitch just for competive matches I could go on and on Unfortuantely we can only peer into the main car park as security is tight but you get to see them in training as you drive down to the youth section Totally awe inspiring and would definitely take Franco again Well worth the £36 for two days just to see the place Much better than the crap that is Battersea Park astro turf that they use for the London Youth training A must for all budding Terry's & Drogba's I do wonder whether the boys of today would have put up with Harlington like Zola & Gullit did?
  14. Can't work out Chelsea and this loyalty thing Both me and my Dad have been to the same games yet he has 3 points less than me so as we all want to sit together unless when I can get through to the call centre and they change his points we all have to wait till the day after when 62 pts and over call in - no point earning 15 points more when they are about as useless as the games that i paid to watch in the first place!!! Even worse for my other half as he has 90 points!!!
  15. Yeah we were in the same bar - had a huge marquee out the back with another bar Be aware you normally need pre printed tickets (free of charge) or need to be with a few that already have them Great to go back there for an hour or so after the game also to let the tube queues die down As long as it doesn't rain as the marquee gets quite full and the front bar is too narrow to feel comfortable in Might see you in there!!!
  16. ok i know its not april 1st yet but which clowns voted for "I can't be bothered" Malouda!!! SWP for me by far the best - over Ballack who faded a bit in the 2nd half The only one who gave his all Haven't seen the red card again - too far away from where I sit but definitely knocked the team for six and never really recovered. Bolton/Spurs must be planning a party knowing that we will have to pay what they are asking for either or Anelka or Berbatov - desparate times call for desparate measures Wonder if Barca will loan us Eidur till the ned of the season?
  17. well isn't that what they want from supporters don't say anything ,accept what you get keep paying your money thanks v much If you don't like it someone else will sit in your seat - we will bus them in from Tokyo they won't say a word - they just want the pictures and the shirt Make up a nice banner that no one will notice God its like the looney left This is not a communist state or football club - yet I appreciate what you say glory because that's how you feel but its not right or wrong its how people who are passionate about a club they dedicate their lives to and how they feel its best to show they are unhappy at the current situation No one is saying it was all directed at the players It is at the people behind the club as a whole Ps I never leave until the end but God it was like torture on Sat like watching a wounded animal stagger around and no one shooting it and putting it out of its misery ( now that was directed at a player)
  18. Well I am in gate 9 and if the "deaf and dumb stand didn't boo" and Foolham didn't because they were quite pleased with themselves at least 30% booed so maybe it was the corporates cause those boos were loud and it wasn't a minority so someone had to do it . maybe it was all in our imaginations Or internet boos from all those JCL who couldn't attend Who were the booers then? Maybe gate 14 didn't boo because they had all walked out by then
  19. This has been around for ages It was swept under the carpet in the summer It was also suggested that said person's 2nd child's parentage is under question But as its who it is all rumours were quashed Answers on a postcard to No 8 Matthew Street Liverpool
  20. I felt like booing today and sitting in the stalwart that is the MHL most did boo booed at a poor performance booed at a poor tactical change booed at the lack of ambition and deisre from a team that is imploding within booed for frustration and booed the fourth official that he added on 3 mins extra time and made us sit through 3 more mins of excrusiating football the comment of the day was hen th 3 mins came up from someone i have sat next to for 10 years " Oh no not 3 more put us out of our misery now" booed at Abramovich, buck & Kenyon for what they have started most that sit around me are not fairweather supporters and i think that anyone is entitled to express their opinions as to how 11 men who earn collectively over ?1m a week!!! can just not try to do what they are paid good money to do. no goals in a mth at home All credit to those like A Cole who got taken off for his service and DD who got sent off for really showing his passion in the first half or JT who got a fractured jaw in the process of fighting for the cause but the rest should hang their heads in shame That was what the booing was for You pays your money you takes a chance but everyone who goes every week is entitled to boo if they so wish Most would go back to the gullit days and before great games of football when a draw was a bonus and if you lost and played well then you were still pleased when you walked out of the ground These guys can play better but didn't so boo if you want it might give them a wake up call Its not petty its freedom of expression in a PC non hurtful conformist everyone should be the same society
  21. I was amazed at the prices he is charging for a few days training My son Franco loves the Chelsea Footie Schools at Battersea Park and they are great value at 60 for a 5 day course with qualified coaches and academy boys helping In fact they can even play at Cobham This however it seems is only for sons of Rich Russians or Sheiks as even though they get half of Adidas's training gear - is still an outragous amount for a 5 day course for an eight year old I don't mind paying the club as it benefits us all and the youth set up with a chance a few local boys may get spooted also But to pay so that Mrs Beckham can spray herself with the best orange tan going is something I'd rather steer clear of!!!!! This is from the David Beckham Academy Website These fantastic 3 and 5 day courses are run throughout all school holidays. Led by a team of coaches hand-selected by David Beckham, you'll get the best in football coaching in a first class training facility. Team-building, football tactics Skills circuits, training games, mini tournaments Play The David Beckham Academy's very own board game, 'The Game' Brand new adidas kit worth over ?200 for every course member Full access to onsite medical facilities 3 Day course costs ?180.00 and includes the following adidas kit package: The David Beckham Academy Training T shirt The David David Beckham Academy Shorts Socks Either Astro trainers OR Sweatshirt (subject to availability) 5 Day course costs ?265 and includes the following adidas Kit package: The David Beckham Academy Training T shirt The David Beckham Academy shorts and socks The David Beckham Academy Sweatshirt adidas Astro trainers For this price I would want one to one tuition with the man himself !!!!
  22. My husband is absolutely fuming He was going to go down and queue up in the morning for reading away as well as the charity shield Everyone has given him the cash as no one wants to put 5 x 2 tickets on their card - to be honest with you its the end of the mth and most don't have ?300 to spare So he wants to go down and queue esp since members get 50% of what's left after corporate etc etc It works out about 70 tickets on sale at the box office but it better than trying to get through on the same day that CS tickets go on sale online aswell Even with his passport and BT bill and the last 15 years ST's they can't without the new teamcard issue a ticket at the box office But the new teamcard hasn't arrived - see previous post We too are seriously thinking this will be our last year also - the interest rates keep going up so the ST's will be the last to go after cup & away games and because of the difficulty of getting them now - 5 years ago you couldn't give most of them away Now members can have away ST as well Many I know are just gonna get memberships and go to away games - its more fun Once again PK & EB you couldn't organise a piss up in a ( insert whatever you like ) Seriously f...... off ST holder
  23. I hate Eddie Barnett and the incompetent box office with a vengance My husbands season ticket has not arrived we have waited and waited as the box office told us to do in case it turns up Now with one day to go before we need to use it - its obviuosly not coming You'd think it would be straighht forward to get ot correctly sent out Oh no not Chelsea( don't give a toss FC) Can't cancel it - so someone may use it tomorrow hence stopping him from buying either Reading away or the Charity Shield Can't come to the box office with his passport as he can't show a valid ST - reason you haven't bloody sent it Could buy on line or over the phone as long as the bugger from the Royal Mail doesn't get there first hence stopping the person who actually paid for the bloody thing from using it Can we get a replacement - easy enough you'd think No not so - can't apply for a replacement until 6th Aug! Won't be ready for collection until day before Birmingham or day of the game!! Why when there are always queues - will there be a separate queue for those unfortunate enough to have not recd their ST - no Apparently there is never a queue at the box office on match day!!!!!!!!! Why are we being inconvinienced Apparently its not Chelsea's fault They process and take your money but its the Royal Mail's fault we didn't get it Chelsea accept no reponsibility for lost ST - he even mentioned a fee for reiisuing it!!! No F...... chance ?650 for a ticket we can't use Another frustrating year for the loyal fans of F... them all FC
  24. HI Club Happy Yes if you def want them my husband can meet you on the day in chelsea with them - he sits in the MHL aswell They are on the corner nearest the west stand in between block 8 & 9 and in row S Mostly surrounded by ST's but not as noisy as behind the goal- they don't like people standing as its more for kids and older fans. Face value which I think is looking at the website ?45 adult & ?20 for the OAP(put in EAst upper for OAP as there is no OAP single prices in the MHL) Give me a call on 07887-761562 to confirm and they are yours Thanks Sarah
  25. Hi Yes they are still availible I'll check the email address on the systemm - you can reach on there My hubby will be at the game to meet you - he is in block 12 Let me know if DEf and they are yours as long as its under the criteria stated Thanks Sarah
