  1. Just seen the goal on MotD2, absolutely fantastic strike. There's been quite a few quality goals this season already and that's definitely up there with the best of them.
  2. Joey gets my vote, full of running and tricks. Terrorised their back four from the off. Drogba was a close second, would have liked to see him get his hat trick but hopefully he'll be on tip top form on Saturday and can get one then.
  3. Not bad at all. Looking forward to giving Borat's team a good going over.
  4. A match report that was many times more entertaining than the game. Lovely stuff Loz and thanks for including my concise half time analysis.
  5. Well as an exercise in winning efficiently I guess that goes down as a success. But that was truly a boring game. Essien was an idiot and deserved to see red, I think it showed a complete lack of respect. And the way our players reacted was incredulous, no wonder everyone hates us, we hardly enamor ourselves to the neutral public do we. It's not as though we can say we play glorious football to deflect away from our indiscipline. Also bar Shevchenko's tackle leading to the goal did he actually do anything of note? I've been very patient with him since he joined us, but sadly I'm afraid I'm on the verge of giving up on him.
  6. Bolton 1 (Anelka) Manure 0. Brilliant, Old Red Nose out thought by Megson!!!
  7. Anyone who thinks Sam Allardyce should be given the job should have there heads checked. Newcastle just put in a "performance" of such ineptitude it was laughable. If it wasn't for Given's saves and Torres' misses, Liverpool could have put 10 past them. It was that bad. The Toon Army's ironic chants of "Sam Allardyce for England" were peppered with "you don't know what you're doing".
  8. You would like to see somebody with zero patriotism for his country as manager ? Who do you mean and why has the person got "zero patriotism"?
  9. Easy tiger. Why can't Shearer have a go? He can't be any worse than what McClaren was, and other top nations have given their top job to untested people, (Germany with Klinsman, Holland with Rijkaard and now van Basten) so why can't we? The players are out there, they just need a leader and a manager they respect who can get them playing together, somebody who knows what it's like to play under the immense and undue pressure we put the England team under. If you can't see that it is folly to appoint a manager who has either a) no track record as a manager or B) a crap track record as a manager then you need to get yourself down to the FA HQ. I understand that they have a number of positions for people with your insight!!! Being a good player doesn't make you anymore likely to be a good manager than a good commentator or after dinner speaker. If Shearer wants to be England manager one day then let him get a job managing a club, build up his experience and allow himself the chance to find out whether he has what it takes to do the basic job before tackling something more tricky. For me personally I really don't see the England job as "tricky". You travel around the country looking at the best players, getting reports from your scouts on the best players and then you have to pick a system and the players that fit into that system. For me the recent England managers have over complicated the role, by firstly refusing to drop out of form players when necessary, playing players out of their natural position and messing around with different systems mid stream.

The players are out there, they just need a leader and a manager they respect who can get them playing together, somebody who knows what it's like to play under the immense and undue pressure we put the England team under. Klinsmann, Rijkaard and Van Basten weer more than just good players, they were also intelligent players. Shearer is the village idiot who was good at football. He also has a huge ego and I am not convinced he would be a manger that players would respect. Fair point, the thing is most Ex-England players are idiots so we've got slim pickings in that regard.
  11. He's gone and will get £2.5m for being statistically the worst manager in England history. [iframe:1nt7l6m5]http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2215145,00.html[/iframe:1nt7l6m5]

  13. I reckon Harry Redknapp should have a go at it. Failing that I wouldn't mind Shearer doing the job.
  14. I thought I was hearing things post match when Alan Hansen had the audacity to actually criticise St Stevie G. Frankly the whole team was sh*t. Crouch was okay I suppose, he did what was asked of him and took his goal well. On a positive note, I thought Modric looked really good in the second half, lots of clever passes and good touches, I know it was only one game and against second rate opposition but I'd like to see us get him. I'm looking forward to hearing McClaren's excuses he'll have a barrel load I'm sure.
  15. Considering what other teams (Liverfool/Spammers) have put past them anything less than 4-0 will be disappointing. I'd like to see Sheva play on Saturday along side Drogba, if he can't score against Derby then it's a sorry state of affairs. I've got £5 on 7-0 at 66/1!! Come on Chelsea, Waffle want's a new iPod!!
  16. I now it's the Mirror and that it's more than likely a load of b*llocks but hey it could well become a contentious issue if it turns out to be true. [iframe:1yh77oos]http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2007/11/20/drogba-for-olympics-89520-20132341/[/iframe:1yh77oos]
  17. My moneys on Carjacker being the culprit behind them all. He goes round to introduce himself when they first arrive, helps them settle in and scopes out the place, probably has the balls to ask them outright what their alarm number is!! Then gives the information to some of his scally friends who promptly go round an rob the place and then they split the spoils.
  18. Of course he's going to say he'd be interested in playing for Barca, who wouldn't!?! Honestly you'd be a fool to say never, who knows what the future will bring. Also I'm afraid it's always going to be the same, Chelsea for all Peter Kenyon's bluster about global dominance etc. are still not seen as a "big" club, be it by fans or players.
  19. Yeah I know, I'm pissed off as I had it down as a draw in my accumulator. Fingers crossed Blackburn make a comeback.
