Not sure if anyone has seen it but in the last few minutes of the Celtic Benfica match last night Augustin Binya of Benfica received a straight red card for an absolute horror tackle on Celtic's Scott Brown - looked very deliberate as well, no idea how Brown's leg didn't break.

Anyone else see it?

Haven't seen it, as I make a point of avoiding watching the scum unless they're playing against the mighty Gers.

Anyway, I don't think somebody should be red-carded for trying to cripple a Septic player, he should be applauded! icon_twisted.gificon_wink.gif

Shocking. Reminds me of Souness against Bucherest in 88!

Or, dare i say it, one of Essiens!

Disgusting. Deserves more than a 3 match ban, I hope Celtic appeal and get it. His bones must be strong as f*ck, HOW it didn't break...

It was horrific. Amazing the Celtic player wasn't seriously injured. I'll be interested to see if they give him an extended ban, given that the ref saw it and dealt with it in the correct manner, as UEFA normally shy away from anything too severe. Obviously they single Chelsea players out, but what's new in that?

Got to say I was dismayed to see this 'tackle'. Makes the one I did on a scouse fan totally insigificant icon_twisted.gif

You don't mean the f**ker's still walking??

Jump on his head next time.

The guy who did the tackle apparently tried to find the "victim" immediately after the game but couldn't get to him and now he's gonna call him and appologize.

The tackle might have been awful but it's nice to see the guy atleast trying to say sorry.

Unlike some f*ckers named H*nt. icon_mad.gif

Hamman's horrific two footed one on a Norwich (?) player the season before was far worse than Essien's on him. Hypocritical twat.

Hmmm... Essiens tackle is the only one they won't show.

And to be honest I've seen loads of worse tackles than Essiens. His might have been reckless but far from the worst tackle.

Walking? Hell no. Took the wheels off his chair too the next time I saw him. Probably still sitting there the f****r!!

Exactly, but they still think it's worth including. Purely to give us yet more negative coverage.

Correct.

When will they stop?

Roman wants us to be a club that people like. If he wants that then he'll probably need to give like £500m to charity or something. icon_rolleyes.gif

Another player with a few awful tackles to his name and who always seems to get away with it - Xabi Alonso. There was the lunge at Mikel's groin in the CL, or the one on Anichebe in the Merseyside derby, which was just as bad as Essien's.

Aren't we getting just a little precious when some reporter posts an article about worst tackles and the list includes some favourites and football legends (using the word legend loosely) but we all whinge because one of our teams players is listed as one of the 5?.

Maybe if Chelsea players were listed 2 or 3 times then you might argue we are being victimised somehow, but I think we are all getting a little precious here.

Stunned Souness against Steau Bucherest isnt there. that was awful. He was playing for Rangers at the time and it was in the European Cup.

He even had the audacity to moan to the ref that he was hurt too aftwerwards!

Must be a video of it out there somewhere.
