Fulham vs Chelsea Thread
I agree- it's horrible to watch him when we have a lot of defending to do... I still prefer him to Paulo though.

Fulham vs Chelsea Thread
I agree, I think we can safely say that on his showings for us so far (I know they've been few), he really isn't up to the standard we require, I know he was brought in as cover for the ACN and all that but he just isn't good enough at the moment and don't think that is likely to change in the near future.

Fulham vs Chelsea MOTM
Ballack all the way. Richard Keys and Ray Wilkins just called him "a Rolls Royce player" and today he was.

Yep, not impressed at all. I'd like to see Pizarro come on at half time for SWP, move Kalou to the left and Joey to the right. Kalou just doesn't cut it for me as a striker. Ballack's playing alright so far, some of his passing has been great.

Everton vs Arsenal
Totally agree mate. I said to my old man, the only way that Everton were going to lose that match was if they didn't concentrate and they proved me right. On Fabregas's antics, I thought it would have been a nice touch if Moyes had given him a nice sarcastic round of applause as was subbed in thanks for his performance, I'm sure it would have incensed Wenger and Fabregas would have probably reacted as well.

Ashley Cole red card appeal
What with Zat Knight getting sent off in a contentious way in the game as well (it was a foul and therefore a red as he was the last man Mr O'Neil) we were never going to win the appeal, the FA would have been seen as pandering to the big clubs or at least that would have been the spin the media would have put on it. And all this talk of instant replays is b*llocks, think about it people, if there were instant replays then Kalou's goal yesterday wouldn't have stood. I really do think these kind of decisions even themselves out over the course of a season, I know it sounds twee but it does seem to work out that way.

Luka Modric
Well that's the end of that chapter then.

Berbatov
I like him but sadly I reckon he's on his way to Manure if anywhere in the Prem.

Shearer's thoughts on Bendtners tackle: "It was a strikers challenge".
-
Everton vs Arsenal
If you didn't see it make sure you see the highlights, Bendtner carried out GBH on Andy Johnson (definitely worse than Riccy's challenge) and got his second yellow for it, why he didn't get a straight red on the ref knows. Then Fabregas (the snivelling little c*nt) conspired to get Arteta (who's one of his best mates) sent off. Arsenal were second best for more or less the entire game and if it wasn't for Everton's lack of concentration they would have got nothing from this game. I'm sure this will all be brushed under the carpet though by the media.

Newcastle thread
Lovely assist from Pizarro for Kalou's goal.

Newcastle thread
Great result and Manure losing makes it even sweeter. Le Tissier on Soccer Saturday said Kalou's goal was 4 yards off side, if so it makes amends for the Cole non-handball against Villa. Fingers crossed that Everton can get a decent result against the Ar*e now.

Luka Modric
Yep here's the Guardian take on it, £18m+ seems a hell of a lot to me, is he worth it and do we need him? [iframe:11uw4x47]http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2232371,00.html[/iframe:11uw4x47]

Would the real Petr Cech please stand up !
Cech has made a couple of costly errors in recent games and he'd be the first to admit it but remember in these games he still pulled off saves that were pure world class, like he does week in week out, the fact is we've become so used to him being more or less perfect any fluctuation in that status and it's immediately recognised. Oh yeah and that article was a load of b*llocks, full of old quotes which he made prior to joining us.

the boo-boys
I think the boo's were aimed at the ref personally ! Yeah I thought that as well.

Chelsea vs Villa Game Thread
Just thinking about the Riccy sending off (which was totally deserved and fair play to him he has apologised as was recognised on MotD), prior to todays game he was on 4 yellow cards, does this red go towards that tally or does it mean that when he returns from his three match suspension he remains on 4 yellows and as such if he was to pick up another he will have another one match ban?

Just seen the highlights on Match of the Day and I can confirm that the ball hit Cole's chest not his arm.

You forgot to mention Sunderland rolling over and getting their bellies tickled by Manure. Fingers crossed that Pompey can pull something out of the bag against the A*se.

Because like Jose before him, Avram hasn't got faith in our reserves and would rather risk a half fit Cech than go without. I'm pretty sure that Cech would have been asked prior to the game if he was fit or not and Avram would have consulted the team physios on Cech's condition, so with good faith he would have picked him on these grounds. I must say I find it incredulous the amount of blame being apportioned to Grant after todays result. Personally I saw today's match as the trickiest one out of the Xmas period for us and I had a feeling Villa may well turn it on today and fancy their chances of a result. I'm afraid our air of invincibility has gone, teams like Villa no longer fear us and we're going to have to get used to it. I think this is down to the fact that we really don't have the strength in depth that we once had, there was a time when an opposition team would look at our bench and fear for who we could bring on if the game was going against us, today the most threatening player on the bench was Sweeps, need I say more.

Totally agree with you, however Ricky did make 100% ball contact and did not contact the AV player at all. It looked a lot lot worse than it actually was, i suppose he got sent off for what he could of done he wasnt so lucky, but he def didnt take out the villa player. That's the whole problem with two footed challenges and that's why you can't complain when you get sent off. Riccy needs to put his hands up and apologise for it. Anyway our next three games are, Newcastle (Home), Fulham (Away) and QPR (Home). I really think we should be able to get by with Alex and Ben Haim for these games.

Riccy's tackle was stupid and the way the refs are today he was bound to go. There's was no need for him to go in like that.
