Posted December 30, 200717 yr Ramos has come out and said only the chairman will decide if Berbatov stays with Spurs or not - obviously they could do a lot with the money they got for him IF he is avaliable I think its worth splashing the cash on him - i'd take him over Anelka.

He was IMMENSE yesterday. Surely were talking biggest ever Prem transfer deal to get him? Would be my ideal signing
December 30, 200717 yr Although he's a good player, I reckon Berbatov's got an even bigger attitude problem than Anelka. Worse, he plays for the scum at N17. I'd take Anelka over him, no question.
December 30, 200717 yr When Bluebeard says he'd rather have a whiny french git, you know the other guy's bad!
December 30, 200717 yr When Bluebeard says he'd rather have a whiny french git, you know the other guy's bad! So true, Enrico, so true Ideally we'd ignore both of 'em and get someone like Klose or Huntelaar in, but I won't be holding my breath.
December 30, 200717 yr If Rooney, Ronaldo or even Van Persie scored a goal like Bebrbatov's 3rd yesterday, we would never hear the end of it. It's totally 100% quality moments like that that makes the game worth watching. Closest thing to Zola in the prem ?
December 30, 200717 yr i'd take him over Anelka. Why choose between the two? Why not take both? If Drogba is leaving we are gonna need two quality players anyway. I would get both of these two in ASAP and offload Pizarro and Sheva.
December 30, 200717 yr I like him but sadly I reckon he's on his way to Manure if anywhere in the Prem.

So true, Enrico, so true Ideally we'd ignore both of 'em and get someone like Klose or Huntelaar in, but I won't be holding my breath. Count me in on those sentiments. I don't like either player because of their attitudes, so for me it would be best to bring in a player who we can mould into our style of play rather than a player who probably feels they know better about how to play in the premiership. If we want whining players who sometimes offer something, why not try and bring Mido back to the premiership?
December 31, 200717 yr If we want whining players who sometimes offer something, why not try and bring Mido back to the premiership? He's still enjoying the highlife at Boro.
December 31, 200717 yr IF he is avaliable I think its worth splashing the cash on him - i'd take him over Anelka. Can we sign both and give them Sheva and Mr. Piz?! ..................................Drogba .....................Anelka.................Berbatov That's an attack that'll get defenders' attention!

Can we sign both and give them Sheva and Mr. Piz?! ..................................Drogba .....................Anelka.................Berbatov That's an attack that'll get defenders' attention! Thats more like an fantasy game attacking trio. I think those three would somehow cancel eachother out. But Im guessing it wasnt your point to put them all on the pitch at the same time.. I would take Anelka and Huntelaar with pleasure. And VDV to midfield.
December 31, 200717 yr rubbish...i'd much rather we kept with pizarro than sign berba Coughed up my dinner before I noticed the sarcasm

So true, Enrico, so true Ideally we'd ignore both of 'em and get someone like Klose or Huntelaar in, but I won't be holding my breath. Huntelaar would be my first choice, but not opposed to Berbatov at all, proven Premiership quality and imagine him and the Drogs upfront
December 31, 200717 yr with a Russian owner we really should have at least one player with "tov" on the end.
December 31, 200717 yr Berbatov has revealed he want's to win trophies since he is 27 and all. He's not going to win major trophies with whitehartlane.. In that case he should go to Manu which I think he will, but would be nice to have him at SB as well. I think the probability of him staying at Tw*ttenham is 10%, him going to ManU 65%, him coming to Chelsea somewhere near 15% and 10% somewhere else. In Chelsea he could win some trophies this year though EPL is an outside chance. He wouldn't have to move to Manchester which is probably on the plus side. He'd probably get paid better here though he says it's not about the money. OK, I'm finished with my deep analyse on Berba's future. And now AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE AT THE SHED END!!
December 31, 200717 yr I wouldn't want B*rbatov! It was hard enough having to accept Clive Allen as good as he was. For me......... NO sp*rs player should ever be welcomed at the Bridge and that includes Gus P*yet who enjoyed knocking us out of the League Cup a bit too much for me!! His attitude stinks and he embodies EVERYTHING I hate about the modern day footballer!! He is a fantastic player, but too much of a risk! And has NO loyalty what so ever!! This bloke makes Anelka look like a saint!! NO NO NO
January 1, 200817 yr (I know its The Sun but...) CHELSEA will make a £26million swoop for Dimitar Berbatov this month. The Blues reckon the Tottenham hitman can revive their title challenge. Manchester United were also interested but accept they will be outbid by Roman Abramovich. SunSport revealed yesterday the Bulgarian, 26, is ready to quit Spurs. And that has alerted United and Chelsea, who meet Berbatov’s criteria. Agent Emil Dantchev said: “If a club that corresponds to Dimitar’s class and ambition comes in with an offer that suits his current club in January, he would like to be allowed to go.” Chelsea, who trail leaders Arsenal by six points, are desperate to boost their firepower. Star striker Didier Drogba has been plagued by injuries. Giants The Ivory Coast ace is currently recovering from a knee op — and will probably fly out to the African Nations Cup when he is fit. Meanwhile, Andriy Shevchenko has failed to live up to his billing as one of the world’s top strikers since a £30m move from AC Milan. The Ukrainian could return to the Italian giants if they come up with the cash. Salomon Kalou and Claudio Pizarro have failed to provide decent back-up in attack. And this has left boss Avram Grant searching for new talent in the January window. Chelsea have been linked with a £10m move for Nicolas Anelka and could fall back to the Bolton striker if they fail with their Berbatov bid. Spurs supremo Daniel Levy insisted: “We are not a selling club, rather we are building for the future. When we have players on long contracts we have no need to entertain offers.” Yet Spurs’ fight to hang on to Berba could be a lost cause.
January 1, 200817 yr In an interview earlier today with Skysports, Grant said that we don't want to sign a player just to use for two months, that they are looking for players who will be with the club for a number of years. I don't know if Berbatov, or Anelka really fit that criteria. Berbatov is a whinging bar steward, and I truly detest the blokes attitude. I don't think we need to be spending big money on another striker right now after the Sheva debacle ( a great palyer, once, but we paid WAY over the top for him. I can't help but feel Berba would be the same IF, it came down to him or Anelka, I would take Anelka for a fraction of the cost, and then bring in Huntelaar in the summer Scott

And we should definitely jettison Sheva + Pizzaro and cut our losses. Willing to give Kalou the remainder of the season to show some consistency but in all likelihood he will not make the grade. Therefore we can bring in Anelka, Berbatov in Jan with Huntelaar (aka Kezman Mk II) to come in the summer. I don't know he'll be Kezza Jr but he certainly shows no strength and I fear he'll be muscled off the ball easily just like a certain Ukrainian - no, not the one at Ligapool. This can be Roman's gift to patch things up after enforcing The Cadaver on us. Happy New Year! P
January 1, 200817 yr Beratov would be a great addition. I can't see what the problem is taking a spurs player it makes them weaker and us stronger. I'd take ronaldo as well if he was available. Berbatov is clearly class, but he does lack pace. I'd much rather him than Anelka. In fact my main question is whether Abramovitch can afford him? If CFC is going to continue to win trophies we clearly need to score more goals. That's not just the strikers but also the midfield/wingers. I'd still like us to swap SWP for someone that can score goals as well as go fast.
