Chelsea (a) at Arsenal - 16/12/07 - match thread
Did'nt see the match today but looking at the you tube clips didn't Gallas use both hands to push Ben Haim in the back before heading in. Surely a foul.

the team v arse
Grant has went for the better defender in ferreira, probably a sensible decision. Man U have beaten the scum 1-0. That should see them out of the race and fat man on his way some time soon.

Just knew they would be back to full strenght. I would be happy with a draw and Obi to keep his head and stay on the pitch.

Chelsea v. Valencia match thread [Tuesday, 11-12-07]
Just saw the penalty incident once and thought SG had done his usual, going nowhere so decides to purposely trip over the defender. Hate that cheating c**t. Maybe I'm wrong and just being biaed. Maybe someone else can watch the incident and report to me because I sure as f**k can't bring myself to watch anything to do with Liverscum tonight.

Chelsea v. Valencia match thread [Tuesday, 11-12-07]
It's hard to see were our goals are going to come from without Drogs and we can't expect frank to deliver all the time. Can't blame SWP totally for our failure to score but he had several chances, without pressure, to put the ball on a plate for our strikers and more often than not did not clear first defender. Thought joey and Belletti done well when they come on.

good to see Belletti going to come on. we've really missed him tonight. SWP's crossing is awful.

I'd think Le Arse would put up a bit more effort. Valencia look very poor. Maka on for Sheva. Strange

There has been some nice neat touch football this half but lacking a bit in the final pass. game is now going a bit stale and we really need a goal before the half.

BOULDERBOLLOCKS (RIP) Please read
Was totally unaware of his condition. Sad News. My thoughts to his family.

On this afternoon
I think it's all going to start again or certainly the media will start it all up again. When Roman was seen to get up and leave Alan Green just wanted to forget commentating on the match and seemed happier to gossip about how 'Apparently' Roman went into the dressing room after the Portsmouth match complaining of our style of play and it was him alone that went to sign Ronnie. bar steward. (Green that is not Roman.)

Arsenal Sign Lassana Diarra
Pity to see him go but I've had my reservations about him making it at Chelsea. He keeps getting referred to as being a young player, and although 22 ain't old I think by now he should have established himself in the team. Although he may look like a Maca he'll never be one.

Is Mikel a Liability
For me in the team it would be Maka ahead of Mikel every time especially in a big pressure match away from home. Personally I think, although he'll turn out a great player for us, Mikel is an accident ready to happen. So far in the prem this season he has played 67 mins (1 booking), last season I think his bookings per mins would have been something similar. More worrying was the Community Shield (1 booking) were twice in incidents not involving him he was right in the refs face and actually pushed his shoulder into him. It's a dangerous game he's playing and I can see us suffering because of it with unnecessary sendings off. Hope someone senior in the club is having a word.

Essien to Miss out : (
On Sky Sports news JM was saying that JT resumes full training tomorrow and that Essien was 50 50 for the match against Reading. That being the case I would think he should be ok to crunch Stevie Me on Sunday. Also Maka and Sheva back in full training.

TT Tips (Home to Birmingham)
TT if Chelsea keep playing in the same attacking formation as today it's going to get an awful lot harder predicting the correct score. Maybe when JT gets back we can count more on no goals conceded.

Birmingham City 12th Aug .
Haven't seen the match yet Scott but on the radio it said about Cech flapping at a cross. Can't see how he was at fault for any of the goals.

Change for the new season
I agree Loz that it does indeed make him more admirable but if it came down to winning or losing, say the CL final I would be happy enough if Cech entered into a bit of gamesmanship. Most Professional footballers would be able, on the training ground to place penalties which were unstoppable 9 times out of 10. The difference in the match situation is the pressure. If Cech were to exert a little bit of extra pressure on the taker I am all on for it. It's not cheating, more like sledging in cricket.

Change for the new season
I have to agree that Cech is a fantastic goalkeeper and I wouldn't replace him with anyone. However I think sometimes he's too much the gentleman for the position he plays. You cannot question his bravery, as we've seen many times and that clout on the head he got last year does not seen to have had an affect, but unlike many keepers who are prepared to leave the boot in, or high (van der prick last week against Sweepie) he prefers to concentrate on winning the ball fairly and squarely. I'm not saying I want to see Cech go out and purposely injure opponents but maybe they would think twice about the next challenge against him if he was to shake them up a bit. As far as penalties go I would like to see him doing a bit of gamesmanship like querying the ball not being spotted right or kicking his boots out against the post. anything to delay the spot kick and maybe make the taker a bit more uncomfortable.
