Thought Sarr had a good game today.

That’s the big disappointment with Ziyech. He’s the type of player that you think should be able to pick a corner.

Lukaku should be doing better but has had some nice layoffs, Ziyech is just Ziyech with nice movement and skill mixed with loads of crap. Pulisic hasn’t featured in anything positive and rarely touched the ball only to lose it.

Looks a talent, like his directness.

Different type of players. Harry Kane, top Premiership striker for many years doesn’t bust his gut pressing, but chooses when to. Lukaku to me is more of a Kane type striker and I’m talking Kane CF not this hybrid thing that he sometimes falls back into.

I don’t think anyone thinks that Lukaku is of the level of Ronaldo, Messi, Hazard or Mbappe but if you make any of them totally press each of those players become less effective in what they are special at. Just like Lukaku, if you concentrate on just making him press you lose a lot of what we bought him for which I presume is goals. There is a balance to be found in any of these players in how much they can press and close down passing channels and still remain sharp in front of goal. BTW I never considered Messi as someone who didn’t press. He picked his moments and worked very hard in the press when it counted.

Thought he done ok with scraps our wide men feed him.

I think a lot of people go for the ‘shouldn’t get beat on the near post’, which may be ok for a shot from the edge of the area but not about 4 yds. To totally cover the near post from that range leaves the far post open. Salah had positioned himself so he could go either side, give the eyes for far post and slotted beautifully in the near. Mendy covered as much as he could. Salah was just too good. Same for Alonso defending, Salah sold him beautifully as he would have most defenders. Things could maybe have been done earlier in the move to close Salah down or stop the ball getting to him but sometimes you have to say it was a fantastic move which was finished off by someone who is world class atm. Thats twice now in this past week I have praised Liverpool, namely Salah and now feeling unwell, in fact brought up a bit of sick in my mouth. Not going to do that again!!

It is what it is, he’s been prick but now would appear to be back in the fold. On his day he is a major asset for us so I wish him well. Fans will take a little while to get over it but it’s up to him with performances. Please someone advise him when he scores his next goal not to be running to the fans kissing the badge, too soon. He can do it when he scores the winner in 2022 CL final.

Funny thing about that was just before the goal the commentator said, when Utd had the ball on the edge of wolves 18, are we going to see a Rashford special as he tamely passed the ball 3 yds to a wolves defender to set them in a break.

Thought the Salah attempt in the second half was one of the highlights of the half. Great composure and awareness to take that shot early and with great accuracy from that range. Only inches from being perfect. Foiled by the wonderful Mendy. Not many keepers would have got to that. Lucky to have him. Two top professionals at the top of their game.

I always find it hard to enjoy these games, especially going 2 down. Happy that we came back for a point but disappointed we didn’t win. Mane should have been off. Pullisic should have put us 1 up but scored later and had a decent second half. Unfortunate Chalobah mistake but steadied himself after that and looked maybe to pick up a bit of an injury. Kante is magnificent, most of us know that. Just make sure we keep him. Thought Kova was MOTM with the goal and some lovely moments of pure skill and dribbling.

I’m afraid that today could end up bad but must remain positive in my predictions. Fancy at best it will be a draw but going to go win. chelsea 2-1 scum. Mount 36

Haven’t really been keeping up to date with all that’s been going on this last couple of days re this story and haven’t went through the many many posts on the site. From what I see he has been dropped from today’s squad and think this is a ballsey decision by TT but the right one. One would imagine that RA would be fully behind the decision. Don’t think his time at Chelsea would be totally over but he’ll have a lot of work to do to prove himself. Whatever it is, it is, we are Chelsea after all, Champions of Europe and a top team this past 20 years and will remain so with it without Lukaku.

Jorginho, Kova, Mount are awful in our midfield tonight. Someone with Jorginhos experience should be able to get some sort of grip of this.
