Garbaggio reacted to jbdiver in Christian Pulisic - OfficialThe US has many young players under 25 playing across all the major leagues in Europe today — several on CL teams. Pulisic is probably the highest profile at the moment, but there are others that may have a higher ceiling. In short, the future of USMT is not dependent on Pulisic being the man at Chelsea. He’s just a talented player who’s a little ahead of other talented youngsters in their career progression.

Garbaggio reacted to USATim in Christian Pulisic - OfficialChelsea attackers G/A per 90 minutes in PL
1. Mason Mount 0.81
2. Christian Pulisic 0.54 (3 games at wing back)
3. Kai Havertz 0.52
4. Hakim Ziyech 0.49
5. Timo Werner 0.43
6. Romelo Lukaku 0.34
7. Hudson-Odoi 0.28
Other PL attackers...
Sterling .54
Foden .53
Saka .49
Pulisic also has the best goals per shots ratio of any player on Chelsea.

Garbaggio reacted to Oli in Christian Pulisic - OfficialI hear what youre saying, but a lot of our matches involve us passing it around, slowly, letting the defence get into their shape and nothing haplening. Sometimes we need players running and taking a risk to try and make something happen

Garbaggio reacted to Valpo in Christian Pulisic - OfficialIt's a little bit hasty to be making those determinations on the ceiling of a 23 year old player. Especially since this club seems to be hilariously bad at it.
Anyone remember this TERRIBLE player that Chelsea sold at age 23.
Or this guy who never scores any goals that Chelsea got rid of at age 24

Garbaggio reacted to LongtimerLurker in Christian Pulisic - OfficialI think it's harsh to put any blame on Pulisic's shoulders, both chances are by no means simple, to get over the ball when it's coming at you so fast and at such a high angle is a very difficult technique even for elite players.
The fact he got into the positions should be encouraging enough for himself, Tuchel who told him to be there and us fans. He and Kante were very influential last year, unfortunately they weren't as good this year. It is what it is.
He also had a great chance to play Kai through 1v1 but was tactically fouled.

Garbaggio reacted to Valpo in Christian Pulisic - OfficialThose were half chances at best but they are being inflated due to the game situation. If a player misses those shots in the 52nd minute of an EPL matchup no one remembers them for very long.
And Pulisic is not the reason the defense let in 2 goals.

Garbaggio reacted to LongtimerLurker in Christian Pulisic - OfficialLet's not pretend any of our attackers bar Havertz did anything of notice yesterday. Pulisic isn't really the problem he didn't get much service inside the box nor did Havertz or Mount (who I believe wasn't actually playing as a fwd but more as a dual 8 along Kanté).
I'm still happy with the way the Pulisic project is going, could he be more consistent absolutely but he's still one of the best attackers in the squad. I'd stick with Havertz, Mount and Pulisic next game but line them up as a front 3 instead of a 2 also play Alonso or Saul at wb players that put balls into the box with their left foot from the left side. Finally Kova who looks to play the ball forward would be to the benefit of the front players.
Heck you could even start Ziyech too and go for a back 4 vs Real when we go to Madrid.
My biggest issue with Pulisic and his playstyle is that often teams will park inside their box and he's forced to dribble outside the box to no avail, when really his biggest asset isn't his dribbling but he is one of the few elite finishers.

Don’t be silly. He ran all the way from Cobham in his kit and headed straight out on to the pitch. He calls it a ‘warm up’.
-
LEAVE LUKAKU ALONE
i feel sorry for the wee lad, on 300k a week having to endure all of this, hving to warm up for 15 minutes and play 15 minutes with only 3 touches and 3 thumbs ups

Garbaggio reacted to ozboy in Burnley v Chelsea (PL) Sat 5th Mar 2022 15:00 GMTEnjoyed the game in H2, Jorginho still only looks half the player of last season. Havertz starting to get goals as well as minutes, but still not sure he is more than a false 9. Overall was pretty impressed with Pulisic, put in a big shift, never went missing. Of course Reece James has the skills, he is a real talent.
Should add I enjoy these threads. More ups and downs than the average lift bank

What a start to the 2nd half! Pulisic is looking confident.
-
Omg am I seeing a Chelsea game where we don’t have to panic and cling on to a 1 goal lead for a large part of the game? Great cross Pulisic
And as I write this Kai gets his brace, i love this game, class from James

Pulisic with the assist!

Pulisic ruins another potential attack
-
Does Pulisic ever beat a man? He just waits to shoot at a defender.
-
The problem hasn't been Havertz, Puli or Saul - it is the slow , walking pace build up play.
