Conor Gallagher
Dont people get tired of posting the same things bashing a player? Is it any wonder our players lack confidence when they get the level of criticism as consistently as they do? It's no wonder he doesn't want to shoot... imagine the smell around here if he'd scored instead of hitting the post yesterday, folk would say it was a lucky effort. anyone reading this thread would think we've just lost four on the bounce and are in a relegation battle. Connor Gallagher deserves so much better from this fan base than he's getting. It's really sad reading. Every manager who he has played for puts him in the starting 11. The clubs who will be in for him are all above us in the league and he has 11 more England caps than any poster on here. First name on the team sheet for me. this side needs his engine and tenacity. he's proven premiership experienced and will go up levels over the coming years.

Conor Gallagher
No surprise, loose a game and the middle age melts get upset and start picking on the better player across the season in our squad for kicking. Depressing reading some of the comments here. Lets try this, not going to be popular, but for 100 million, Enzo is mugging us off that he's a midfielder because he actually doesn't bring or carry any type of threat anywhere across the pitch. But sure, lets pick on the Cobham grad while waiting for your Male Hormone replacement therapy.

Chelsea v Preston NE (FA Cup) Sat 6th Jan 24 17:30 GMT
Just got to say a big shout out to all the international fans at the game yesterday, there were supporter groups from Adelaide, Melbourne, Hellenic blues, Swiss, Swindon, Finland, Malta, York... Chile, Ireland x3, Hasting, mid Atlantic and American southwest banners up in the west stand. Your tickets on top of the pints and pies cost must be massive... I salute you all fellow blues brothers and sisters. Serious effort and damn glad we all got a result. hope you enjoyed singing "you've had your day out now F off home" 😉 Would love another minnow next round.

Armando Broja
Trouble is he was anonymous first half, nice tight control neat touches but not a player who appears to be able to hold up play. Took his goal well, nearly had a second but disappeared when the ball wasn't near him. Hope, as Ive said here he pulls his finger out because this is and may be his only chance to impress poch.

Armando Broja
With Broja, it just feels like he's been around a long time and not really gone anywhere. Ive only seen clips of him, I think he has some very good control and makes decent curved and intelligent runs. He just needs to stick the ball in the net. It's all the strikers have to do, or give it to someone who can. Hoping we get to see a run of him in the side, because I think, he, like Jackson has goals in him. But he does need to get up to the speed of the premiership quickly. I can't see us signing big this January so its sink or swim time for him with us and I hope he comes good...

Conor Gallagher
I didnt say you couldn't, just a simple choice between mount and CG to play in the side. 🙂
-
Conor Gallagher
Here's one for us all. Who would you rather in the side right now if both were 100% fit. CG or Mount? having both isn't an option... I'm going with CG... simply no hunger, desire and ability to win the ball back. Think the goals and assists will come.

60 million is too cheap... easy 80 million player... especially given what we've shelled out for players in midfield in the past 18 months. Would Calvin Philips be a shred loan until the end of season for us? Would pep sanction that given we made him look like a fool with Palmer?
-
Conor Gallagher
agree its next level crazy, big big fan of mr C.G but the club had a model of using cobham grads to raise revenue through loan fees. same for squad players... Bar JT, did we see too many cobham grades make the first team or was the path blocked by senior players as seen with KDB/Salah/Lukaku etc... 🙂 Think it's a case of asking what's more crazy!!! 🙂 Holes in socks or not, want C.G to stay because he's an animal in the final third recycling the ball, one of the best in Europe at it and he can hit some worldies too.
-
Conor Gallagher
Hasn't this been the way since Roman? Our youth team, large squad subsidised the first team? Our youth pulled in loan fees as did our extended squad? Selling to pay for first team upgrades has always been done hasn't it? Guess it's how you view Cobham. As for the women's game, the upside financially is there for growth over the next 20 years. Losing the games best club manager probably wasn't part of the plot but id argue CFC is incredibly well placed as the women's game develops.

Happy New Year Shed-Enders!
You're all a bunch of self hating wan*ers.... Is what I told my spurs mates instead of wishing them a happy new year. Happy new year vibes to you all blues brothers & sisters

The Mad Hatters Luton Town vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 30th Dec 23 12:30 GMT
5. You bet money on Tottenham being relegated year on year. One year, their demise will not only make you howl with laughter under a full moon, but you'll be able to afford a drink to toast their departures down the ladder.

Paper/ agent talk to get the club to offer a contract more in keeping with what the player is wanting? He or palmer are POTS for me so far. Would be madness to give those north London Wan*ers anything other than the cold shoulder.

Nicolas Jackson - striker
I hope they develop a ton faster than that... A few responsible grown up signings, made between board and manager, for a little more craft and guile would go a long way with this squad. I've defended Sterling on here, think he's been really unlucky at times in our shirt, but he does need to up his game because currently Mr Big.Game.Player (Palmer) is ahead of him in the starting 11 for us and England. Chelsea of old was a very special time to be a fan. Pre and post Roman as we moved up the gears into big club territory. If we never have that period of success again, the memories are irreplaceable from it, but, they'll come again, perhaps sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed. In the mean time, just going to enjoy being mediocre again where results against the top sides are memorable wins and cup runs give meaning to a weekend. Chelsea of old will turn into Chelsea anew. Aint that the thrilling part of being a long term fan?

Nicolas Jackson - striker
Some folk just can't see good or progress because it doesn't fit with their narratives. Apply this to both Broja and Jackson and anyone who isn't "elite" currently playing for mid table has been side. nearly 20 years of being spoiled rotten by a dodgy benefactor has made everyone forget that players actually need to develop somewhere before theyre bought for megabucks by "elite" clubs. As we're no long "elite" we now have to "develop" players more than we're used to. Sad but true. So get your kicks deriding players if that's your thing, I'd rather look at the positives and support them and enjoy them develop in their careers, much like Drogba had to do... his first 10 months with us was horrendous and JT had to have a word.

Conor Gallagher
How did you feel after 16 months of Lampard? did you also think he was replaceable? I'd be proper grumpy if this guy was sold. It would be suicide trying to build something.
-
Conor Gallagher
According to fans earlier on the thread, he's sh*t and not worth a spot in the team. I say 1 billion spent on players and a homegrown talent is holding the side together. Kudos to the guy.

Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea
Im still surprised at how bloody fast he is. Certainly caught palace out a few times last night. Slowly settling into life in west London. good stuff from him recently. team is finding a wavelength with him.
-
Nicolas Jackson - striker
Im a defender of Jackson. Bar scoring a goal I thought he looked ok last night. Yes, there was that big miss, but he also minutes late stuck the ball in the net but was offside and thought the ruling was questionable as it did come off a defender. Either way that goal mattered to him and showed me he at least cares. Lets face it, Nkunku through on goal in the first half has a kick at air and misses the ball. I just hope the cfc striker curse isn't getting at him already!!! Jackson will come good. Fingers crossed for us but he certainly looked more of a handful last night, more like the guy who played the first few games. a little more composure, a little more directness for the goal, they'll come, same for broja, this team needs time, minimum the rest of the season, players need to keep playing. but think a team ethic is starting to show. Granted - It's a hard watch at times as are the misses every player makes recently, but it's coming. It was a big result against a London rival. Not sure cartoon memes are the way forward imo doesn't look or sound great. difficult times and the fans and players actually need to support each other. Direct any anger at the directors, the players wanted to sign and play for us, lets at least try and give them the support even when they have indifferent performances.

Djordje Petrovic signs for Chelsea
OK... United dropped off the pace instantly when Fergusson retired. Wenger did his best to keep Arsenal at the top but kept slipping off. the same will happen to city when Pep goes. Look at Parma and other clubs down the years. Barcelona are another example. It may be incompetence, or it may still work out, Id argue the manager merrygoround doesn't help nor a high turnover of playing staff. But that's what's happened, you can either get mad and blame the players who were signed and wear the blue or we could try and muddle our way through it and keep believing in the process of changing the way the club is run. Alternatively, stay angry... buy the football club - drop 1 billion into it and run it how you want... Despite us wanting new owners already, we dont have a choice but to accept their ownership. it's not like they want an unsuccessful football club and I dont think we're too far away from having a competitive side. Poch needs a little more experience and goals from the players he's got.

4-0 Chelsea. believe in the boys believe in miracles

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
We'd probably take more away fans to lower league teams than home fans... Get to try out some pies and alternative travel destinations. Who wants Rome when there's morecambe! 🙂 just the way the football chip cookie crumbles. up and down. TBH, its exactly what the new owners and players deserve, It would also mean we have to rely totally on the youth team and we'd build a pretty strong side from that, and we could offload most underperforming players.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Well, it's better than wishing for the unobtainable title win.. championship promotion push could be quite fun.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Wait until the end of the season and bring in Luton's manager, that way we can beat them in the championship. that or we bring in a manager who is capable of bringing teams up from the championship, Steve coopers available.
