I'm assuming Caicedo will be back, so something like this please Poch

                   Petrovic

Gusto   Disasi    Badiashile   Maatsen

              Caicedo   Lavia

Madueke     Gallagher      Mudryk

                    Nkunku

If Caicedo is not fit, then Gallagher drops back into the pivot, and Nkunku plays as the AM, with Jackson or Broja ahead of him (depending on who spends the least amount of time on Only Fans on Xmas Day and Boxing Day 🙂 ).

Any idea why Caicedo missed the game today? I didn't see the pre-match so I am hoping it is nothing too serious.

I would not play Disasi and Badiashile together in the back 4. Maybe Thiago needs a rest, but Colwill in CB would be a better option.

Apparently a "high fever" of some sort. Hopefully fleeting !

I only went with Disasi/Badiashile as they are both big units (to balance my short selections at full back), and have played together before at Monaco (65 games), so should hopefully have some decent chemistry and understanding !

Fair enough. Palace do have some height and we will need to do much better on set pieces than we have in recent weeks. Badiashile has had a rough week and I suspect his confidence will have taken a hit. Although today he came on as a sub in the later stages when we were chasing the game and leaving gaps at the back.

Mudryk and Nkunku to start, if not, bring back Potter!

You think Nkunku is ready to start? Am guessing Pochettino will use him for maybe 45 minutes. Lavia maybe for 20 minutes.

Palmer and Sterling Suspended. Should be in interesting front line.

We should play three CBs upfront and we might not concede a goal for once.

Nkuku is not ready for whole 90 minutes.

So we start him and let him play as long as he can. When he comes off, we send on ANYONE BUT JACKSON.

Based on who is available am not sure who Pochettino picks for this one. For what it is worth this is how I would set up:

Petrovic

Gusto

Disasi

Badiashile

Maatsen

Caicedo

Gallagher

Madueke

Nkunku

Mudryk

Jackson

Broja needs a loan, hopefully that will help him overcome the mental and physical scars that horror injury left him with. For now is him or Jackson so I will pick the one who I feel is most likely to get opportunities for Nkunku, and Jackson/Mudryk/Maatsen seemed to have some sort of understanding with Nkunku in pre season.

Hopefully Nkunku can give us 60-65 minutes, then Lavia can also hopefully make his debut replacing him.

Aside from Colwill for Maatsen I reckon this is 10 of the 11 Pochettino goes with. Thoughts?

Ah.. losing here and potentially our place in the table could be even worse.

The feeling before the games is so f**ked up right now. Honestly, I don't know what to expect from the team.

We're sh*t tactically, sh*t by terms of quality, confidence is gone. It's easy to play against us.. I don't even feel the home advantage anymore.

--------- Petrovic -----------

Gusto - Disasi - Colwill - Maatsen

------ Caicedo --- Ugo ------

Madueke --- Gallagher ---- Mudryk

---------- Nkunku ----------

COME ON CHELS!

Tough to say what our best defense looks like at the moment. I see several posters suggesting no Colwill, but Poch has started him almost every single game so far. You think he will be dropped?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Caicedo has a knee issue certainly what Poch says about why someone isn’t playing can’t be taken as gospel. If he is back I’m assuming baddy will be given negative reinforcement and dropped. Silva has to be rested.

petro

gusto disasi colwill maatsen (but Poch won’t play maatsen)

connor nkunku caicedo

madueke Jackson muddy

Think whoever is match fit and available will play, we really haven't got that many options. Got start Nkunku, if he runs out of gas via the 50the minutes, so be it. At least he'd had a good crack at them, rather than 30 minutes cameo against a team protecting the game. We have a very good record against Palace in recent years, hopefully that helps.
