There is a world of difference ! Drogba played in a different league. Most foreigners need time to adapt to the premiership. Nobody from Chelsea commented on Joe Cole as the club let his contract run out, and for a good reason as we are finding out ! Torres is familiar with the premiership, he hasnt been on form for a long time now (including Liverpool). Torres is being picked on because he cost Chelsea the most ludicrous amount of money spent. Now if we spent that amount of money on Joe Cole, the shoe would firmly be on your foot, and rightly so. He has proved to be a good reason why you lot let him go for nothing !

Well, judging by the responses from Chelsea fans, Carroll would be a safe bet. As you lot have said, there are a lot of problems with the current chelsea team. Injuries, age, tactics, lack of goals. I find it amusing how Torres left us because we have similar problems. One thing you could add for us is lack of depth in the squad. Another difference is Liverpool are currently, regardless of this season being a done deal and very depressing, the future looks bright. We have investment for new players, an icon for a manager and young players being given the chance and not looking bad at all. All the while, Chelsea fans are divided on Ancelotti, and are constantly finding faults in there own team. For me, the problem Chelsea have are an ageing team. Injuries are becoming more regular, daft amounts of money are being spent as quick stop gap solutions, and lets be honest here, Chelsea didnt need to spend such a ludicrous amount of money on a player which wasnt needed. David Luiz however is an excellent signing, Torres will prove to be an over priced average striker.

I voted no. The Hillsborough tragedy could have been averted were it not for terraces. The yorkshire police made a monumental cock up which cost the lives of 96 supporters. The question of fans behaviour in england is not in question here, its the efficiancy of outside parties, and who can they blame when it goes wrong. Human lives are simply not worth risking, because, as seen with Hillsborough, the effort to protect ones backside when it goes wrong is paramount and the lives lost are simply secondary. Only when we can all say in one voice we are confident in the outside parties getting it right every time, can we all agree to bringing back things like terraces. Take the stevenage match when a supporter ran onto the pitch and chinned a player. Whatever reason he had, he was able to do that. Too many risks to even consider bringing back terracing.

There are quite a few open minded, clever, fast witted and intelligent supporters on here. You are not one of them therefore I wont waste any more time on you.

Exactly but you misunderstood my point. The trap both sets of supporters have fallen into is the "he needs the service" trap. On his own, he can score the goals, he can create them but for so long now, not only for us but also for spain during the world cup, he just doesnt look up to it. And so both sets of supporters, Liverpool and Chelsea, complained about the lack of service, but as you have pointed out, thats not the problem as when he is up for it, he can do it himself. Like I said though, you have a moody player, when things are not going well, Torres will go missing.

This. Us Liverpool supporters fell into the same trap of blaming lack of service. Although that would help, what would help more is if Torres decides to justify his wages, he didnt at Liverpool, he hasnt so far at chelsea. Generally the option is for other players to do all the work and lay it on a plate for Torres, so that he gets those tap ins and therefore justify the fee. What you have is one moody player where if things dont go his way, he sulks through the rest of the match.

Not a problem, you bought one of them for 50 million ! Dalglish wanted Carrol. He is a John Toshack kind of player, understand, Dalglish is under contract until the end of the season. Nothing is set in concrete as yet. Whatever money is spent now, Dalglish can have no complaints. If, however, he signs a long term contract, and the board intervene, then yes he can complain. For the moment though, he is simply steadying the ship.

The problem with chelsea isnt the manager. Allow me to explain, the problems I see for chelsea are these three: 1) Jose Mourinho 2) Money 3) Roman Abramovich 1)Jose Mourinho. When he took over from the tinkerman he had a set idea. He knew what he wanted, he knew what kind of players he needed, and he knew how to set up the team. And it worked. This has been the set up since Mourinho. The spine of the team being Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba. The formation Mourinho chose complimented his style of play perfectly, and was met with success. But since his time, other managers have come in and simply have not had the freedom Mourinho had to shape a team. Generally, what Mourinho set up, is still continuing to this day, the downside being, age is kicking in. The spine of the team is showing signs of wear and tear and needs to be replaced. 2)Money As a Liverpool supporter I was miffed with Torres' attitude towards us, but of course not towards the price we recieved. I honestly believe we came out on top there. He is a good player but worth £50 million?, not a chance. Who signed Torres? Ancellotti or Abramovich? I ask in genuine interest as i dont know. For me it looks like your chairman signed him. Give your manager that 50 and I would hazard a guess he would strenghten at least two other areas of the team for that amount of money rather than blow it all on one player. There are times when Chelsea, like Man City, pay over the odds simply because "they can". And this is the money problem for chelsea. With the amounts available to spend, who should have the final say? Mourinho spent money wisely on building a team, since his time though a lot has been wasted. Wright Phillips, Shevchenko to name but two. Which brings me to..... 3) Roman Abramovich No doubt it is nice to have a chairman with money to splash out on the club, but, who is there to say "STOP"? The one thing all the managers at chelsea need is the freedom to shape the team into a good winning team. The manager knows stability is needed, cover is needed, unfortunate circumstances regarding suspensions, injuries etc also need to be taken into account. If all these are addressed by the manager and yet the chairman feels he knows best, there are going to be problems. If I were in Ancelottis shoes I would be pleased to have Torres, but, like Jose Mourinho with Shevchenko, I would feel stepped on by the chairman as it simply shows he has no confidence in you buying the right players, so he has to intervene. Your manager shouldnt be sacked, he won you the league last year, whatever way you portray him this season, you have to put yourself in his shoes, and how difficult a job he has. For me, as an outsider, the three things I have mentioned are your biggest problems. Chelsea need to move on and adapt, especially with the FFP rules soon to come in.

As a Liverpool supporter I really wanted you boys to win, and for much of the match chelsea played really well but the pinnacle for me was when you hit the post twice, and the fact you got absolutely nothing from the referee or linesmen all night, as is usually the case when you play against Utd. In european football any sign of studs showing results in punishment, depending on how high, a yellow card given to the offending player and a freekick against you. Ferdinands challenge on cole was awful, if cole had not had moved his head he would be in hospital still now. What made it worse was the linesman saw it, put his flag up then decided against it. Like I said nothing went for you all night but you showed, in terms of football, you were not only matching them but bettering them. They won through pure luck and dubious decisions, look at drogbas sending off, how on earth did utd escape with just a yellow? Tevez for one should have been given more but like I said, united isnt it?

Its comments like these that get my blood boiling. Im a die hard Liverpool fan and have shared in the glory our club have earned but also drown in the occasion of unfortunate incidents which cost the normal season ticket payer there due. Everytime when it comes to counter arguments the opposition resort to really painful pastimes which, regardless of the clubs they support have suffered the most. The familys who have to live with the pain of what has gone on previous. Always opposition supporters pick up on what, sat in the comfort of there armchair has seen on there tv, rather than be there and see for themself. I dont deny, there are lowlife lfc supporters who find no remorse in reminding man utd of the munich air disaster. To me they are not supporters, they are not singing and supporting there club, they are scum. I look on other forums to get the feeling of our main opposition. And chelsea are one of them. Very scarce the humanity but it does exist. With regards to the match itself. Well done. Your team deserved it. You outplayed us, you wanted it more and got what you deserved. No excuses on my part.
