  1. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see City turn this round, I'm torn because par of me wants them to have more games to think about and another part wants to see their confidence take another pounding. I'm on a 3-1 win for them tonight as I liked the odds but couldn't really care less what happens.
  2. You keep telling yourself that, I think a few City fans felt the same.
  3. It will be special watching Hull and Wigan fight it out...arrgh the magic of the cup .
  4. If Bayern don't go into it too casual I can see them coming out winers to nil, I'd love to see Bayern play the game like they need to win and drub these pretenders but they'll likely take it easy. Here's a couple of quid bet with half to the site if it comes up. 11 Mar 2014 - Bayern Munich v Arsenal - Correct Score Bayern Munich 2-0 @ 15/2 Stake : £2.00 Estimated Returns : £17.00 Edit, I'm quite happy Kaboul got the Red card turned around, Sherwood will have the option to play him against Arsenal at the weekend.
  5. you know when someone introduces themselves and as you go to shake hands you pull your hand back and thumb your nose?
  6. What I can't understand is why you find the need to come on a Chelsea forum to talk about it...you don't have much input other than to keep moving the goalposts as to the likely outcome of competitions and to tell us what Arsenal are in line to win. Speaking for only myself I'm not interested in what happens with Arsenal except to be highly amused every season when they flatter to deceive and have their boring fans come out of the woodwork only to disappear again when they are let down. I look forward to Wigan ending their Cup run but if they have an off day and Arsenal get runners up I'll be happy that that will satisfy the board enough to keep Wenger faffing about there a bit longer.
  7. Arsenals slim chance of a trophy hanging by a thread .
  8. Wigan doing well, if they hang on here that must make them favourites for the cup, been there and done it recently a big factor.
  9. Speak for yourself Moi, I sometimes think he's serious about supporting Tottenham .
  10. Backing your team is fine, going on opposition fan sites and bigging up every little win with a list of the teams they've beaten is cringeworthy. We're not interested in Arsenal, not worried about Arsenal and doubt they'll have anything more to polish than they usually do.
  11. I'd counter that with a better Ref wouldn't have called our early chance offside and from a goal up there I think we'd have gone on to wrap it up as well as it ended anyway. Edit: I took so long to write two lines without being nasty as its Spud, two or three other people beat me to it
  12. Nobody here doubted we'd win, we just don't take things for granted as much as fans of teams not so used to winning trophies of late.
  13. Matic for me, he's slotted in so well and when the boys are not looking on song his presence is so reassuring.
  14. It would be nice to see Willian come on and make a difference, I'm sure the away supporters would appreciate it.
  15. Can't you save the over confidence for your own lot...didn't do you much good against Stoke.
  16. Early goal would have made a different game of it, Eto'o had a greedy moment that could have been an assist but Tottenham have been pretty well organised, Shurrle hasn't carried on where he left off but hasn't had the same service, balls in the air to him have been a waste. Willian or Oscar have to come on and I wouldn't even mind seeing if Ba could give us something different.
  17. He's got an injury, not sure what but not too serious I don't think.
  18. Bets for today, half any winnings to the site, 08 Mar 2014 - Chelsea v Tottenham - Correct Score Chelsea 2-1 @ 15/2 Stake : £5.00 Estimated Returns : £42.50 And Andre Schurrle / Chelsea 2-1 @ 55/1 Stake : £2.00 Estimated Returns : £112.00
  19. Just read this on talksport, it's been an odd season with the City and Gooner fans on here giving it large and I'm amazed that we haven't had more scouse fans who seemed more interested in telling us how we should hang on to Benitez than talk about the possiblity of their team winning their first premiership title. Here's what was said in Bill Burrows column, Why it's time for Liverpool fans to calm down. There’s definitely something happening at Anfield. Well, not geographically in L4 necessarily. But, for example, on the south coast last weekend, where the travelling support (and most had travelled from all over London and the Home Counties) chanted “we’re going to win the league†as they breezed past a curiously dispirited Southampton side. Brendan Rodgers, not a man widely regarded for his grasp of deadpan comic delivery, announced that: “We were playing away from home, playing at 5.30pm, seeing Chelsea had won and Arsenal had lost, Everton have won – and [everyone was] thinking it was going to be a real banana skin down here.†He added: “We concentrate on ourselves, that’s all we ever do.†He also noted: “The Liverpool supporters are the best in the world.†So it’s at least possible that he has been hiding his genius for the one-liner all along. “It’s great for them to dream,†he went on. Yeah? Well, that might be marvellous for them in the short-term Brendan, but it sounds very much like you may know nothing about Liverpool or the fans of the club. It doesn’t take much to get them going. And, no matter how you qualify that statement, it only serves to encourage them. As Manchester United continue to struggle and unencumbered as your team might be by bothersome cup competitions – clever of you, that – it may be the case that Liverpool have their best chance of winning the Premier League since... well, for the first time ever. Or, to put it another way, since Philippe Coutinho, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson were born. That, however, does not mean you are ‘going to win the league’ just yet. Liverpool fans might think it’s their birthright, but that is only for people of a certain age like my mate Scouse Robbie, who told me before City’s League Cup final win: “You can stomp around with your cup, but those European nights are too much for you lot. We have the experience and class to dominate.†The facts suggest this is the longest period Liverpool have gone without winning the league in their admittedly glorious club history. But – bad news alert – that ain’t going to change any time soon. So, to use a phrase that instantly springs to mind: “Calm down! Calm down!†Alright, la? 20. Seems Jose has the same thoughts on Eto'o linking up better although only in home games... Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has called striker Samuel Eto’o the club’s best striker: but only at home. The 32 year old has scored eight goals in the league and Champions League for Chelsea this season but has yet to score away from Stamford Bridge, prompting Mourinho to start with Fernando Torres against Fulham on Saturday. “Eto’o scores goals, but at home,” opened Mourinho. “He scores in the league, in the Champions League, but all of them at home. I think away is more difficult for him.” “He is our best striker to play at home because of his technique, his movement and his understanding with Eden and Oscar.” However Mourinho admitted that the striker’s away form means that he made the decision to start with Fernando Torres at Fulham. The Spaniard has scored half of his four league goals away from home and has scored all three of his Champions League goals this season away from Stamford Bridge. “Away [Eto’o] is showing some difficulties so we made the decision to start with Fernando [Torres] and have Demba [ba] for the last part of the [Fulham] game.” http://www.squawka.com/news/2014/03/03/mourinho-reveals-the-problem-with-chelseas-summer-signing/2014030377499
  21. pretty good appraisal of our current options, on the balance of what I've seen, I'd say Eto'o brings the most to the table, that said I do think Jose gets it right more often than not and would be happy to let him juggle about as he feels fit.
  22. Congrats to Mrskyblue today, I had 3-1 City with Nasri first scorer which would have been handy, luckily had a fiver on just the score so picked up fifty five quid on that. it would be nice if the available competitions where shared around a bit now.
  23. Hazard for me, quality and a huge influence to how the team performs, really happy for Shurrle who has given Jose a reminder of what he can do with three well taken goals. Ba looked ok when he came on which is nice and Willian got a well deserved rest, Defensively Cahill and Terry are looking more and more solid, we seem to drift in and out of games but when we have spells like we did today it bodes well for what we could do if we could keep our foot down for bigger portions of the game, a Banana skin out of the way against riavls who love to up their game against us.
