Semper Fi Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Hey there. American. Male. Old Enough. Edited March 10, 2014 by Semper Fi
moi Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Welcome, American male who is old enough. What part of America are you from? How long have you been a Chelsea supporter? Are you an ex-Marine or a current Marine?

Are you an ex-Marine or a current Marine? Long enough. I don't intend no disrespect Ma'am, but let's keep it CFC related till I get to know you and people in this forum better. Thanks.
chelseabootboy Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 like getting blood out of a stone or a quid off a spurs fan ;-)
Chippy Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 you know when someone introduces themselves and as you go to shake hands you pull your hand back and thumb your nose?
Valerie Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Long enough. I don't intend no disrespect Ma'am, but let's keep it CFC related till I get to know you and people in this forum better. Thanks. And you didn't think the name Semper Fi would raise certain questions?
coco Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Welcome to the forum. I have noticed a few times already some of our humour has gone over your head, which is understandable, sure you'll pick it up.
Semper Fi Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 And you didn't think the name Semper Fi would raise certain questions? Don't see why it should matter?
Semper Fi Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Apparently it matters to you. Is there a reason for your attitude? Obviously Semper Fi means something to myself, but what does it matter to you if I don't feel up to answering personal questions? It doesn't; and you already knew what I meant with that statement. Funny enough that you only dropped in to make a sarcastic remark instead of welcoming a newcomer. To each their own I suppose.
Valerie Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 What's with the aggression? Are your feelings hurt?
ForeverCarefree Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Well aren't we just a little ray of sunshine... I'm sure you're going to get along just fine with everyone round here.
Semper Fi Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 What's with the aggression? Are your feelings hurt? The irony.
barak81 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 To be fair, you marked Your card early doors with the attack on Las. We don't really know people on a personal basis So well So if a newbi shows up accusing a relatively inoffensive regular of being a wind up merchant... well it doesn't look good.
Valerie Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The irony. Barak has already tried to explain, and I will elaborate. You picked the name Semper Fi, so it evidently matters to you. What's so sarcastic about that conclusion? Just like other members, for example Ethicalstrategy or Zeta, are asked why they picked that name for themselves, you get that same question. That's what we do, we are interested. You decline to answer. That's fine, but you throw the door wide open to some ribbing. If you can't take that, perhaps you should have chosen a name that doesn't pique the interest of others, like Tom, Dick or Harry.
WeatherMan Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The phrase ' Winning hearts and minds ' entered my head for some reason.

I understand it gets your interest, but I'm not obliged to answer anything. You asked, I refused to answer. That should have been the end of it. Dragging it and throwing in sarcasm is unnecessary. As far as what I choose to pick as a username, that is not any of your business. I don't mind the questions, lll answer them if I like to or not. Also you were not the one that asked me that question, it was Moi. She politely asked and I politely told her she will get to know me better once I am used to the forum. She left it at that because I am assuming she is understanding. Why you decided to jump in and have a go at it I have no idea.

Aside from the fact that he accepted himself that he must have wound me up badly? Lol he is one and he doesn't deny it either.
Valerie Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 And another one who fails to grasp the concept of healthy debate, not even on a forum he has just willingly joined. Doesn't even have the wherewithal to make up a story and be done with it :-) What do they teach these kids in school nowadays? Ignore button, wherefore art thou...
barak81 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I think Your entirely missing the point and twisting things a Little... I don't care what he does on an other forum and if he wound you up.. to My knolage he hasn't wound any one up here... and Your first post is to attack a long term poster.. kind of pointless

Apperently respecting someone's privacy is not what you were taught in school. Throwing your toys out the pram over something that is my freedom of speech is borderline shocking. You had the nerve to ask if my feelings were hurt

Throwing your toys out the pram over something that is my freedom of speech is borderline shocking. You had the nerve to ask if my feelings were hurt Bit of a dilemma here, Semper. We are taught to respect other people's privacy. We are also taught to give newcomers a warm welcome, which involves showing an interest. So we have a dichotomy, when our warm welcome seems to be rebuffed. We have many Americans on the Shed End and have never had a problem before. I have to be honest, when you told me politely to mind my own business, I just thought OK, I will cast no more pearls before swine. (this is a phrase from the Bible, by the way)
