Put it like this we dont need anymore centrebacks in fact we need to get rid. Id let Carvahlo go, and go with Terry, Ivanovic, Alex and Mancienne. So even with Riccy sold, Rajkovic wont have a place. We dont really need him at the minute, I want us to keep Ivanovic, Terry and Mancienne + Alex wont go as he has been in good form. Twente are in the CL so give him another season on loan there. He certainly has a big future and him and Mancienne could form a good future CB partnership.

I think we need 4 players max, 5 maybe if we get a new backup keeper. Ferreira, Deco, Kalou, Carvahlo and maybe Hilario can go Bring in a backup leftback (Bertrand, Cissokho, Zhirkov...), a winger (Zhirkov, Mata, Robben...), a striker (Aguero, Tevez...) and maybe an attacking midfileder (Dzagoev, Hamsik, Arshavin, Sneijder...) If we only have money from player sales then obviously we wouldnt be signing Zhirkov, Robben, Tevez and Arshavin. But I believe there will be one big name forward in, Zhirkov looks likely to come and the possibly a young attacking midfielder. Jack Cork would also join the first team for 09/10 ready for the ACON.

Sneijder is by a mile better then VDV, who is a pretty average player, although he would be an improvement on Deco. Robben I'd love to have back, he has got better at Real Madrid and him, Malouda and J.Cole could rotate on the wings. Robben and Sneijder would be very welcome here.

If he continues playing well for the rest of the season we have to keep him, although if he doesnt offer anything next season, he can go in January.

Nowhere near as good as Arshavin in my opinion, the few games ive seen of him, I've never been impressed.

If we want him we will be paying at least £20-£25m, Arsenal took the gamble on him and its more then payed off, we didnt and i highly doubt they will let him go, he hasnt been ther long. We probably have more chance of getting Fabregas IMO.

Think the kid could be top class, hate for us to miss out of him like Torres. I do worry that he could flop over here though, doesnt have the phsicality of Benzema which make him more likelyto settle in. He hasnt been as good this year as last, but thats understandable. He is clearly highly rated though in Argentina and could be the next best thing to Messi.

diarra isnt the new makalele, he likes to break forward. mascherano isnt the new makalele, he isnt as intelligent and breaks up play more then he protects his back four. mikel isnt the new makalele, he likes to attack and was originally an attacking midfielder.

Club have said there will probably be 3-5 in and out, I let Ballack, Deco, Ivanovic and one of Kalou/Malouda and Drogba/Anelka go. This squad definetely needs freshening up though.

All these players with the exception of Robben are not good enough. We need to be looking at better strikers like David Villa and Benzema, not Jo and Vagner Love. Robben would be a far better option then Zhirkov too, Van der Vaart is pretty useless too.

I am not so sure Zhirkov wont be a sucess, I just think its more likely he wont be good enough and he seems to be overhyped, if he were that good surely he wouldve moved last summer like Arshavin and Pavlyuchenko? Zhirkov's goal record is very poor, for CSKA its around 1 in 10 and in 28 appearances for Russia he has no goals. If he plays leftback for Russia that would explain why he hasnt scored but surely if he's that good going forward he would be playing a more attacking role? Also since Pavlyuchenkos move to Tottenham, every seems to not rate him, but around the time of the euro's i remember hearing the opposite. Also he had a very good goals record in and for Russia and if you rate Russian football then surely you must rate him. While Zhirkov may be ready for a step up I dont believe he is what we need given our current formation, thats whyI suggested he may be better in a formation with two strikers, because in a 443 we need wingers who score goals.

I wouldn't go near Van der Vaart, one because i dont rate him, two we need to fill other positions first and three I dont want us to deal with Real Madrid again.

I hope Zhrikov is as good as you say sergey and he can fill the gap Robben left and Malouda didnt fill, in our 443, but im pretty sure he wont in my opinion.

I cant see Wenger, Benitez or Ferguson leaving at the end of the season and I see there being a small chance of Hiddink staying on as manager of us and Russia or even just us.

sorry sergeyMS, forgot about pavluchenko only playing due to an injury to pogrebnyak, but i still though he was second choice. Youre saying that Arshavin and Zhirkov are as good yet you list Arshavin as having exceptional attacking skills and showing it in big games, that suggests a better player then someone who is hard working and consistent in my opinion. There plenty of players who are hard working and consistent but you normally consider the players like messi, ronaldo and arshavin to be the best due to there attacking qualities in my opinion. Im not saying Zhirkov couldnt fit into other positions, just that in our team with our players he would be better suited to a less attacking role as you say he is good attacking and defending.

Everyones hyping Zhirkov up and he isnt that good, look at Pavluchenko, Russia's main striker and he's been pretty poor for Tottenham. Arshavin has been good for Arsenal but he was rated as easily Russia's best player. Russian players arent that good and that might be why we havent seen many Russian players in the Premier League. Why do i think Zhrikov will fit better into a 442? partly because i want him too, i want to see us play that way. He can also play leftback, name me one other player who can play fullback well and out wide in a 433 that well too? He's known for going up and down the leftside all game. I dont think he's a proper winger like say Robben and thats the type of player we need for this formation. I also cant see him being good enough to be a top class left winger and decent left back backup for us. 443 won us the title because of the wingers we had, upfront we had Robben-Drogba-Duff, Zhirkov-Drogba-JCole doesnt compare well with that. We need wingers who can actualy score a decent amount of goals if we are to play 433, we cant just rely on an aging Drogba to score our goals. In a 442 you have two strikers to score for you, a left midfielder in a 442 has to track back to defend more since theres one less midfielder. This seems to suit Zhirkov's style more, less pressure to score goals and a more defensive role. It also seems closer to where he plays for Russia and CSKA in the 3-5-2. As a squad player he would be very good because he's so versatile, but thats not what we need, id rather we signed an out and out winger and a proper left back if thats what we need.

I don't know what to believe, first we have no money to spend and want to break even. Now since Guus took over roman has apparently found his interest in the club and is willing to spend to get us winning again. The only official word is we will be letting 3-5 go and bring 3-5 in, that sounds about right to me, i just hope we make the right signings in the right areas.

Id go for : Cech Bosingwa Carvahlo Terry A.Cole J.Cole Essien Lampard Zhirkov Anelka Drogba with the players we have.

Hope we dont get Ancellotti, he just plays the team to keep the people above him happy, doesnt shake things up and makes terrible signings. This AC Milan side he has managed have been pretty terrible and we have no chance of winning the league with him. He won the Champions League because he had such a talented group of players, now some of them are older he has failed to rebuild. AC Milan have Kaka, Nesta, Pirlo etc. and they failed to qualify for the Champions League with that group. We have a similar squad, alot of old players who are underperfoming. Our squad needs rebuilding or at least refreshing, under Ancellotti i think we would probably struggle to make the CL like Milan did.

Zhirkov seems to be very overrated, he is in no way the Russian Ronaldhino. I think he'd fit better into a 442 as he offers more in defence then say Malouda or even Robben. I dont think we should play him wide left in a front three, if we want someone to do that we would be better to go for a player more similar to Robben.
