I am of the fervent belief that if him and Natalie Portman (was at Harvard doing a masters in psychology and is fluent in 3 languages) had a kid, we'd see the next step in human evolution right there... I missed the game, because I'd had a nigh tout arranged for some time before this... It was doubly annoying because they were only showing the scouse c**ts playing tonight, but f**k it, at least they lost... so if anyone has a good long highlights package, I would be most grateful.... From what I've seen of the match, we scored a goal and kept a clean sheet... something we havne't done for a while... I'm f**king delighted to see it, and to express the emotions I felt when I got the text on my phone would require the eloquence of Dorset and the swearing of Gem, neither of which I possess so I';ll go with whatever feels most natural in a moment, but first I must express something about the team. We won, which is somehting we havne't done in a perplexing amount of time, but now that we have we can finally begin to get our season back on track... Many people on here will probably feel that I'm over confident, enthusiastic, or in some way wrong in my belief that we have the strongest starting XI in the Premiership... our squad may be a bit weaker than last season, but we're still better than those arround us, and I'm sure we'll end up in the mix for the titlte come the end of the season. My feelings are soemwhat like this, though.... Yeah, I think we've just got to wait for winning ways to return, and it'll die down, but it's nigh on unbearable right now, which is a shame.

I actually find that it's more people exalting the most extreme views, because those are the ones which are most easily heard in the sea of views which is the internet. People don't care how reasoned a view is it seems, they just respond to ones which make them angry, much like dkw and hutch, but unfortunately the attention that gives those views only encourages them I feel. It's a pity, because there has been much reasoned debate on here, and it's something I really liked about this place, but this is just getting ridiculous.

It's a matter of bombing forward for me, as much as anything. Van Aanholt has been caught too far up the pitch a couple of times when I've seen him, which will obviously improve with time, but for now I'd say Paolo is a better option defensively.

Yes... reason being, Paolo doesn't go as far forward, and thus is naturally in a better position to defend. Van Aanholt bombs forward too far, and gets caught out... he isn't Ashley Cole.... yet. Given time Van Aanholt will learn when to and when not to go forward, and learn when to get back, but he hasn't got it yet and gets caught out a fair bit...

I hate to be the voice of reason here, but I'll give it a good go. I think Paolo might be there because Carlo wants a more defensive full back in, against a strong side. Van Aanholt is excellent going forward, Ashley Cole like, even, but he isn't great defensively. Carlo knows what he's doing and clearly has a reason for what he's doing.

As long as he brings some chicken, beer and a fishing rod, he'd be a good choice.

Nah, last season winning 6-0 was easy, it's just that this year they made the 'keepers better on FIFA.
