Out of everyone, I'd mostly like to see Neymar, young, an unknown talent and would be available for CL selection :icon_biggrin:

If we buy in January it will depend if we are looking to turn round this season or looking to future seasons. if we are looking to turn round this season then bringing in the likes of Neymar is pointless. We would need players of proven calibre who we are confident will hit the ground running.

That is the longest poll I've ever seen. I didn't even know you could make a multi-poll. Do I get a coffee and biscuit for my time?

Diego will be a top choice & if I am not mistaken, he is not CL tied. Cassano also comes to mind. Let's dream for a moment;

Cech

Bosingwa. Ivanovic. Terry. Cole

Ramires

Essien. Lampard

Diego

Cassano. Drogba

I went for Aguero, Kroos and Chiellini - none of which will join us.

Agueros wages are too high, Kroos will more likely join a team like Barcelona (if he leaves at all) and Chiellini will stay at Juve (for which I am glad).

I think our team is good enough to win the league as it is so I don't see a point adding big names like Ribery (though Aguero and Chiellini are big names to be fair).

Aguero and Kroos are young - one of them already proven in big games and the other a huge talent.

Both my players would come from Milan.

Pato who would be a fantastic winger and provider for Drogba.

Sneijder who is a creative midfield workhorse who can also finish.

Those two would cost 70 mil pounds though. 40 for Pato and 35 for Sneijder.

At the back I would have to go with David Luiz or Coentrao. Luiz is pretty straight forward at CB but can also play LB. Coentrao can play anywhere along the wing or LB. Fantastic dribbler and crosser. This guy would come in and replace Malouda instantly.

So my plan is to spend 110 million pounds in January? Realistic no?

It's pretty sad that we are sitting here in late December talking about players that should have been brought in in August. I was all for letting Ballack, Deco and Belletti walk but not if we were not going to replace them.

Is it possible Roman is not as steadfast as he was before?

And to compound the problem, the young kids who were supposed to be getting quality time on the pitch have been rotting on the bench while the vets have stunk it up.

Sir Alex lost Ronaldo and Valencia and got Nani rolling, lost Scholes for a bit and now has Anderson rolling. Rafael and his brother have also been getting valuable experience.

Wilshere has been a constant with Arsenal and Walcott ripped us a new one today. Not to mention their young defense that gave nothing away.

Chelsea are way behind and the only players who have experience are the old players. Without buying players Chelsea will suffer for the period it will take to get their young kids up to speed.

Forget all these midfielders and attackers....Ferreira has been pathetic as a Sub or start...get me a stop gap rock solid defender who will seal these holes in defense which are leaking a rain of goals against us.

I would like to see a defender bought in as well. I know Carvalho left for different reasons than Cole, Ballack, Belletti, however, he was still not replaced and we are now forced to play Ivan at CB when he did such a great job for as at RB in a double winning season.

Antonio Di Natale

33 years old

Top Scorer in Serie A at the moment

Get him on loan until the end of the season

Edin Dzeko

24 years old

10 Goals in Bundesliga this season

Buy him for £23-25 million

Its not a formality we will spend in January, so keep on doing what you're doing Roman old son!! by not putting your hands in your wallet!

with a bit of luck we'll be playing European football on Thursday.....(if we ARE lucky!!!)

I'm convinced that if we still had Miroslav Stoch we'd be six points clear.

Nothing could stop the Belletti - Stoch right hand side. Stoch's outrageous speed and Belletti's suave play and good looks. Invincible.

David luiz or subotic or cahill or someone who can defend.

sneijder or hamsik or pastore or a midfielder who can pass

neymar or hazard or dzeko or a forward who can attack

or chopper, wise and Zola!

I am a huge huge huge fan of Aguero, but I voted Neymar, he's definitely a player that would run at players, he has incredible speed and skill.

Midfielder, I couldn't decide between Schweinsteiger, Dzagoev or Diego, all fabulous talents. I voted for Dzageov, because he's younger and can easily double up as a striker.

Defender I went for Phil Jones, but with the majority, Cahill would definitely be a good acquisition.

All these players in January???

Carlo has came out and said that we won't spend, and who will let these players go, and which of these players aren't already cup tied?

I doubt we'll see anyone.

Although I'd like to see our defenders all be fit, and then add Hazard to give Anelka and Malouda a run. Then maybe Hamsik in the middle to have Lampard, Hamsik, and Essien in the midfield.

Watching Everton-Wet Spam led me to wonder about

-Seamus Coleman: young, extremely fast, and cost Everton almost nothing. Can play at RW or RB.

-Pienaar: not a world beater most days, but would be very cheap becasue he is out of contract in six months

-Freddie Sears: really impressive prospect, and when he started running he left everyone for dead with his pace. On the break, he was picking out some fantastic passes

-Timmy Cahill: No, probably wouldnt work in our system, but there is something to be said for someone who works his socks off every game, and always seems to be in the right place.

Pienaar and Cahill would be bandaids for different problems with our squad, short term fixes. But Coleman has a real future, and looks bound to wind up at a top club.

Also, it seems there is an impending strike in Spain because of unpaid wages. Might be a very very opportune time to strike for guys like Juan Mata or, even you-know-who (if we are playing a video game)

It's pretty clear from Carlo's press conferences that he will only buy a Centre Half in January if Alex's return from injury is delayed. Other than that despite what anyone says who we need or what the consequences are, the dreaded cut backs will ensure our Manager has to battle on with what he has got.

We can bang on what difference it would have made buying Van Der Vaart rather than Beneyoun, Keeping Carvalho, or even buying Adam Johnson from 'Boro' as the homegrown rather than Turnbull and invested in a quality back up keeper - all that is clear is cock up's galore have been made and it hasn't helped our cause.

So who will be that Centre Half, things could have been much worse if Ivanovic had been booked in recent games.

Phil Jones was the man Carlo wanted, he already has stated he wants a player currently playing in the Premiership. Jonesy's injury has put paid to that deal, both Cahill and Samba have been mentioned in the press, but for me there is only one candidate.

Yet again Roger Johnson before the Sky camera's pre the Birmingham v Man Utd game said he wanted to keep a clean sheet as much for Birmingham as for his beloved Chelsea. He said his brother rang him to push the point home.

What we need is a player who will give 110 per cent to the cause and above all can defend and is injury free.

Johnson ticks all the boxes, at 27 will do us well, he hasn't missed a Premiership game for Brum since he signed from Cardiff and as a fan will bleed blue for our cause. He has played Drogba vey well when he has faced him and like Jonesy has picked up a couple of man of the match performance awards against us.

Brum have Ridgewell who can play Centre back alongside Dann and we could even give them Ferreira as part of the deal !
