As for Deco and Ballack, I know they're big names, but surely even EA can see that they've not been up to much... well hopefully, but I guess you can't expect too much from them.

Managers have certain ways of playing and they usually need to bring in some players to help get them working. They aren't making these sorts of signings because they already have the squad they want, which they've developed over many years... Who says he'll be the same as Deco? He's more deep lying, far more agile and more skilful on the ball too. He's more a Xabi Alonso than a Deco.... you know that player that other player the Premiership is far too quick for.

I think you're a bit off there. Ambrosini was usually alongside Gattuso as a destroyer with Pirlo creating. Kaka ahead as an out and out attacking mid and Seedorf roaming just off the striker... usually from the left. A lone striker like Sheva or Inzaghi or more recently Pato.

Not quite fast enough any more I don't think. They've got a defence of Ramos, Pepe, Albiol and Marcelo. Not a single slow defender there. They know they're going to get caught on the break quite a bit, so they've gone for faster defenders to try and counter that threat.
