  1. Leeds would be nice; this follows historically after knocking Watford out- and I'm sure we will.
  2. A bit like having to take a small bit of something nasty to kill off a bigger virus
  3. van der Vaart would be a great short-term signing but i believe his time at the top level of football is limited. van der Vaart actually has no natural cartilage in his knees and any injury to them is very serious, possibly career threatening. Frank Sinclair didn't have anything 'natural' between his ears, but it didn't stop him playing :D
  4. Either way; on the bench, first team player, £30m for this bloke is ludicrous; £10-£15m maybe. This is another 'big club with bags of money in a tight spot- test the water' type rumour. It smacks of the government 'leaking' details of a proposed paper to assess the reaction- I'm sure Dzeko is a decent enough player, but there's no way we (or anyone else) will pay £30m for him at the moment.
  5. As per German-Blue, you can't say that; Cole fits better into the daimond scheme, Malouda is more difficult to place. Joe's just back from injury and is alittle off-form at the moment, but long term he'd get my vote over Malouda- not simply because he's English, back on form he's a better team player.
  6. His few goals are always welcome; he might not be appreciated by all fans for his opportunist long range attempts, but at least it livens a game up! - I wouldn't agree with the opinion that there's any sophistication to his efforts though - they're all direct and therefore 'simple', but none the less 'amazing' when the effort comes off.
  7. As the article implies, he did well under Hiddink ; but let's face it , who didn't; he'd been pretty mediocre prior to that. I think he's simply chosen his moment to aire his views with the likes of Drog, Essien & Mikel about to set sail for a month.
  8. .... and as we're now looking financially secure, perhaps it's time we knocked down the old East Stand & built a new luxurious 'state of the art' one? :D
  9. ....cue Alan Green telling us how 'there's no atmosphere at the Bridge,..but of course at Old trafford or Anfield.....'
  10. Can't imagine him paying for it either though!
  11. Put a cork in his bum & sell him to united?
  12. Let's take heart in the fact that at worst, we'll be two points clear at the top after tonights games. regardless of the run of form we've been through, united haven't exactly been setting the league alight and the gooners are either very good or very mediocre; inconsistency is likely to plague them throughout the season if Wenger sticks with his present gameplay - they're good against the soft sides and sh*te against anyone who's up for a fight. Liverpool are dead. Villa continue to promise then fade. despite the arrival of Mancini, City will remain circus performers for a while. We have our best chance of winning this season since 2006 With the financial news that has just broken, who can blame Ancelotti for his tinkering at the moment?; he has to try with what he already has, as it seems obvious that the board are more intent on how the club looks in the eyes of FIFA/EUFA. You saw how the team got together after beating Fulham; I'm confident we'll pull it together despite the ANC.
  13. Think this thread may have put a CURSE ON US; it wears a navy blue hooped shirt with fluorescent trim! (thank christ we got lucky today!)
  14. Ivanovic; if only for the cross that led to the equaliser.
  15. Hopefully, this is the end of the 'blip'; let's face it, we were mediocre to say the least, and extremely fortunate to win - onwards and upwards from now on (please!)
  16. I've never seen Fulham as 'rivals', simply neighbours. Any game attended there was a completely relaxed atmosphere in comparison to visiting Spuds or west Ham
  17. With a bit of luck, it'll go tits up for them, & they'll start to lose habitually rather than draw
  18. Thanks for the explanation- thought maybe I imagined typing the posts
  19. THIS BOARD!- when it wipes threads you've added for no bloody reason!
  20. .......looks like he's on his way. With a circus like the one at Eastlands, he's on a hiding to nothing. Hiddink next up?
  21. ;) The original thread has disappeared, so I'll say it again - it's worth it! Fingers crossed for a return to some consitency at our friendly East London chums place tomorrow
  22. Couldn't agree more ; Bring back Bates as Chairman whilst we're at it, strengthen the side with Bogarde, Fleck, and Sutton, groundshare with Fulham at their place.
  23. Ditto; Colin also age 52- Another beauty of the terraces was that you could chose wghere to stand - you could move to avoid agro/ join the livlier bunch if necessary- these days you buy a seat & end up stuck next to some Rupert from Reigate. NO TERRACING - NO ATMOSPHERE
