  1. Didn't you just love it when it went tits up- and you had to try and decipher the scores because bits of other screens intersected the page; 'CHEL.Coronation Street at 8.30.NITED 1'
  2. Love this bit from that Arsenal blog: 'Some of us may have secretley thought he was mad, but with four defeats in the bag already before the end of November and no realistic hope of winning the title, now we know it.' GET A GRIP- he's not mad- HE'S FRENCH!
  3. 4-0; we will field a 'weakened' team, but the way our first selection are playing, anyone given the chance will be up for it, and Blackburn are poop this year.
  4. 'It remains a slight niggle with his admirers in France that his progress will be slower at Stamford Bridge than it would have been at the Stade Félix- Bollaert. Had he stayed at Lens, the club who contested the validity of his move to Chelsea, the experts believe he would by now have been playing Ligue 1 football regularly.' No suprises there then; I could probably turn out for Lens, and I'm 52!
  5. wonder who could possibly have complained about it? ; suspect who ever it was threatened to set up some sacred bleeding heart campaign group etc.
  6. Fantastic footage; red white & green scarves aplenty! - I'd almost forgotten how it was fashionable to have your scarf around your wrist - and not a replica shirt in siight! Nice to see the shots on the terracing - wobbling on the edge of a concrete step, something not likely to be experienced again. Glad flares have bitten the dust though- bloody awful
  7. Who HASN'T threatened to kill Bates at some point? - Even when he was our chairman, people would have been lining up- Electric fences etc. Mind you, you have to give him some credit - he DID save the club.
  8. Anyone who can survive at an Italian club like AC Milano for , what was it 8 years? in a society that ditches managers at the drop of a hat (faster than Chelsea!) proves the strength of character and guile of the man. Quietly confident he'll be around for a while, and we're about to enjoy another rich era.
  9. Especially 'Scousers' from the Home Counties; I hate glory hunters with a passion- which is why it's great to see Liverpool doing so well at the moment. Nobody south of the northern border of Nottinghamshire should follow northern Monkeys- THEY DON'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH!
  10. One-each seems to be the consensus of opinion; you never know, we may put on a show & make it another 4-0, after all we don't have much of a game at the weekend do we?
  11. Just 'Petar Borota' will do nicely
  12. Have to say, don't recall so many references to Wolverhampton, I mean WOLVES? - who the f**k are (were) they? Great memories of most of the chants; as for running with the pack & getting involved in rucks - seemed to me like it was almost unavoidable back in the 70's! Never mind the away games, the riotiing up the Fulham Road after the games with the likes of West Ham were simply the norm; it was a way of life. Ahh , the good old days. 'Woof woof' ...'not fit to wipe my arse'..'''atchets and 'ammers'....Harry Roberts is our friend' etc. Bring back the terracing.
  13. :   :D I can remember worse weekends !
  14. Yes . bring it on - nothing more enjoyable for me than beating Arsenal and Spurs; hope you've got your defence in order -you have GOT a defence, right?
  15. Nice to see Kakuta on the pitch; he showed some nice touches, lets hope this continues and he's been worth the agro.
  16. I'd cry if I saw any Scottish side lift the European Cup! (1967 being a long forgotten blip in the procedings) seriously though; nice to see people from all over Europe and elswhere on here with such a passion for the Blues - difficult if you're Irish, with the obvious history that's come between us - but nearly everyone can identify with the situation to a certain degree; I originate from an LCC built estate just North-west of London and was often criticised by my peers for not following Arsenal or Spurs as they all did, simply because those stadia were geographically closer; what bollocks! - when I see blokes from Watford or St Albans wearing Liverpool or United shirts, those comments always bring a smile to my face - these people would have been eaten alive at the school I went to. Of Course if you live in Dublin (or Norway etc.) where the local game isn't that hot, following clubs from the English premier is to be expected. As far as the actual loyalty goes; it's 'nice' to see the national side do well- especially as 3 or 4 of our blokes are a regular part of that side at the moment, but even if you're old enough to have witnessed us winning the world cup, as I am, it can never give the passion you have for your club. South Africa will be an interesting side show, whilst we await the start of the season
  17. Exactly - what's in a bloody name? ; 'Doughnut Dick's Lard castle, Tacky Plastic camera's stadium, The crimson permanent goldbloom & Tossburger fianace Co. arena' - it'll Simply be 'are you going to THE BRIDGE on Saturday? - nothing changes (except some party of idiots with more money than sense help to fund our club)
  18. Messrs; Green & Taylor on BBC 5 Live; what a pair of absolute twats: That northern monkey lover Green; 'No atmosphere here until Chelsea took the lead' - the sucker of appendages of all things red and northern, hadn't noticed that our normal atmosphere inducing passing game was being stifled by a third-rate side who have come for a draw, but then as he only turns up when we play the Mancs or Scousers, he wouldn't know any different. 'We havent had the full 5 minutes extra time, because Chelsea made a substitution in that time' F**K OFF YOU GLORY HUNTING TWAT! TAYLOR: 'Chelsea win, but undeservedly so' WHAT DOES THAT PLUM KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL?
  19. Didier Deschamps; talk about turn up & play like you've joined some retirement home's sunday side- enjoyed top wages - complete waste of space.
  20. I remember being bitten by a dog when I was down there once
  21. 'Too many cooks' etc. Let's hope he dosen't leave a bad taste... Can't see a great deal of change from his predecessor
