  1. Almosr went for that, but saw "The Book of Eli" instead, It was really fantastic and Denzel was great as always...
  2. Adopting a tactic doesn't make us like them, because everything's already been tried by someone. Says "Little Steven" Van Zandt - "You're only as cool as who you steal from."
  3. On long kicks, what are the chances of retaining possession once the ball crosses midfield? I'd say less than 50%, because the opponent has a back 7 (or 8) facing the incoming kick, while we have maybe 5 on their side of midfield. A build-up on the pitch should be successful at crossing midfield at least 90% of the time, because of the defensive numerical advantage. Keepers do start build-ups, but more often go with the long kick. The risk is in losing possession on your own half, but defense should be able to manage to hold possession against attackers, and run them ragged in the process. I'm old-school, but it seems you are onto something. :)
  4. You know if Jack calls, Kyle will answer Late additions Red Hot Chili Peppers REM

  6. "Manchester United officials express outrage over an alleged theft of the original serum from Old Trafford grounds. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson claims to be the first chemist to isolate the fundamental cause of cancer. FA officials decide to take no action, based upon lack of evidence, while saying that they believe the claim, thus proving that Chelsea FC did not cure cancer the right way."
  7. I agree with Valim's opinion only when in haiku...
  8. Bowie knows where to find CFC in the tables...
  9. She'd be happier if she looked at the current League Standings

I don't care who captain's Nigeria, but I guess Colin got me, too. Good call, The Moos!
  11. Heathenry abandoned. Tonight it was homemade Yorkshire pudding to accompany a Standing Prime Rib Roast. Definitely a delectable pastry, and the only physical malady it will rehab is hunger pains... I'm glad Dempsey's OK, still don't know about Davies. Mostly hope you all had a Happy Easter!

Congrats JMO, good choice Lars! "Starlet"?? http://www.kickoff.com/news/14682/mikel-na...ria-captain.php
  13. 5 for 5, 11 to 1 on goals drowsy
  14. Most of that isn't worth a pair of socks...
  15. Since humor is art, not great art, but... And one good one
  16. I regret that my arithmatic was incorrect upon first posting. I suggested that we, CFC, have five winning results against the organizations currently residing in the top four standings. In fact, it is only four wins and should not include results from Liverpool fixtures, as they are not top four. thus contrasting the information put forth in said posting.
  17. Oops, 4 for 4 tries. I forgot that the Dippers are not top four...
  18. What great game for everyone (except Lamps, sorry). Mikel plays unsung, yet so steady. Yuri was tremendous, too. The guys on TV had no idea that John Terry blocked that one shot by Park, where he was in great position in front. Getting performances by three 2nd teamers on defense @ OT, farking amazing. We took their best shot, and stood tall. Congrats to JT and Cech. The scummers could have used CR and Tevez today, no? Loved seeing Scholes, Fletcher, Evra eat that nasty sandwich! I've never sympathized with Rooney, but that had to be hard to watch. He should have had Samuel Smith with him in that luxury box. I hope he's well soon, about 3 weeks. Mike Dean must have gotten an edict (Blackburned?), because he let everyone play ball. Missed a few for us and one for them, so what. My MOTM last game was Carlo, and he used the same team today to give the league a taste of our blue exhaust! The goal by DD looked like the same shot that beat Almunia. He and Ballack look good in shorter roles. And Kalou was way too fast for the devils, late in a defensive game. Bring it on home, Blues - and thanks for being awesome!!!
  19. If Carlo knows when to use them, we don't need changes at all. 5 wins in 5 tries at the top is not something to dick with.
  20. Florent, ahead of JT and Yuri.
  21. I think Julie needs a chaperone...
  22. "When this war is over, we should open an anvil factory." I loved it, but it comes from a strange corner of cinema history, the Holocaust comedy. I understand that there is a Jewish tradition of dealing with trauma through humor, although I caution that I'm in unfamiliar territory here. I do know of 2 other films that tried this tightrope. "Jakob the Liar" with Robin Williams is one. "The Day the Clown Cried" is a film that was completed by that weirdo Jerry Lewis, but never released. It is said that he has the only prints and screens it at home for his friends. Don't forget Hogan's Heroes. Also a play called "Warsaw Ghetto", which I think was a London production...
