I wonder if you asked English supporters which trophy you would prefer to win between the Champions League or The World Cup,how many would vote for the World Cup?.

I've often wondered when a player goes on loan to a rival,just where their loyalty lies?. Just what is exceptable from our point of view as it were?.I've often thought the loaning club sometimes put exccesive pressure on a new player to 'spill the beans' or come out with 'I've joined a better club' type of cobblers. For example....Lukaku is on loan to Everton for the season & even though he can't play against us,if Martinez asked for info on how Jose sets his defences in training or the weakness of a certain player for example,would that be acceptable to the parent club?. I'm often suprised just how some players react when out on loan with Victor Moses comments after joining the dippers for a season loan, a recent example. Saying he's joining a 'big club' is all well & good when you're trying to win over those tossers after signing a permenant deal,but he is only there for the season!............will he be kissing the badge next?. Just my opinion,but I think it's going to be tough for him to come back here next year. I recall the sight of Yossi Benayoun almost wetting himself (not a pretty sight) at the Emirates when the arse scored while he was playing for them on loan a couple of years ago. I thought after that shocker,his chance at Chels was over & he could go & f**k himself to be honest. Mind you,with the size of his hooter,he probably could. But just what is acceptable for a loan player to say while out on loan?.

Well,to be honest Thfc,it was a long time ago,but now I'm a lot older,I think maybe the two directors should have been more honest with us back then. But I was lucky,some of my fellow workers had famlies & a mortgage,all I had to keep happy was a 350cc Yamaha!. But it's a good point that with all the money around today,a valued football club can go to the wall for about 1 day of Gareth Bale's new wages. Make's you think dosen't it?.

Not really what you would call nearest & dearest but I hear Kettering F.C. are about to be wound up over a £58,000 debt. Where is the F.A. when you need them?. Mind you,to be fair...back in the early 90's, I worked at a small car dealership that found itself in the financial sh*t. New & used car sales just hit rock bottom due to a uk reccession,just like thesedays really,so maybe things really do go in cycles?. The banks demanded the directors of the firm re-mortgage their homes just to keep up repayments on their loan that they took out to buy the freehold of the site 2 years previously. Understanderbly as they were in their 50's,they refused. And that was it,game over.I owed a lot of dough to tool firms but within a week, the game was up.....f**k off & goodbye after 8 years of hard graft!. No cash,no wages,nothing.....the uk government did their very best to bury me in forms.I thought better of it. Tough as it is,even football clubs have to live in the real world.

Well said mate,I never really thought I would see a day,where we would be in position to go toe to toe with one of Europe's giant clubs such as Bayern Munich on such an equal standing. Just enjoy it for f**k's sake!.

I think the move to Everton is actually a better one than West Brom (sorry Steve) to be honest. The expectation at the Toffees is higher for a start & Martinez is a more attacking focused manager. Fair play to Lukaku for having the ball's to take the pen against Munich (in front of their fans no less),it is a bit of a lottery after all. But in truth, his bottle went and his pen was a poor effort & that by the way,is no way mean't as a bad reflection on the boy's character. It just goes to show that he's not quite ready for the level at which Chelsea are now expected to compete. That penalty (if were lucky) could have been against Bayern in a Champions League final rematch and just imagine for a second, what a failure there would have done for his development. And if we had managed to sign a top class player such as Cavanni or so this summer,wouldn't Luk still be a second (or third) choice?. It's a good move for him & a much better option than loaning/selling Ba to the arse. That really would have made me spit feathers.

Before he leaves the country,should'nt he leave behind his wife's handbag?.

My local Premier League club is West Ham Utd.Chelsea fans are a rare sight around these parts & you can suffer from a fair bit of stick that's for sure. They have 'The acadamey of Football' (for f**ks sake!) written on the side of their pitch at Upton Park and they really do belive that they won the World Cup for England back in 1966. Yet, these football colossus, which the modern game obviously owe's so much to,managed a grand total of NO shots on target in their home game against Stoke. Yep,for the whole 90 minutes, these football pygmies couldn't even get ONE FECKING effort on target, at home,against a fellow mid table team!. All I can say to those Hammer fans is HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Fecking mugs. Glad to get that off my chest!.

I've watched him play from the day he arrived & however promising a young striker he is,when it comes to his defensive duties,he was a touch poor in my opinion. Worse really is that he just didn't seam to be worried about improving it. It's worth bearing in mind, it's not a value that I,(or perhaps you) really think about in a forward, but for Jose I belive it's vital.For him,good defending starts with the forward. We have been linked with Wayne Rooney to be our main striker because he's good at it, yet if you saw the game yesterday,his willingness to tackle Ramires on his own goaline, is a great example of exactly the sort of qualities Jose looks for in a forward. A forward who knows that to win,or draw tight games against top quality rivals,you've got to be willing & able to do a fair bit of defending when required.

I would have taken the point even before the game was played if I'm honest. More so when you consider it was David Moyes first home fixture. But,bloody hell,it's worth remembering it was Jose's first 'big' Premiership fixture for 6 years!. At Old Trafford of all places. This after delivering silverware in Italy,Spain & facing up to the Spanish media b*stards on a daily basis. In the end, it looked like it was Moyes who had been away for six years. Welcome home Jose.

Even if Danny was still at the club, I don't think Jose would play him that much to be honest. As we've seen in the past with Jose (& again yesterday), he demands that his forwards/attacking midfielders do their fair share of defensive duties. Tracking back into midfield and getting in the occasional tackle is a minimum requirement.Just being good at defending corners (like Didier) might do. And lets be honest,that never really seamed to interest Dan a great deal when he did get his chance to play. Shame really,but when you employ a manager you buy into his idea's & of course, he'll have his own idea's which type of player he feel's is best equiped to carry them out.

Watching Rooney on t.v. last night,even though he played well,he didn't seam to be enjoying himself to much did he?. In fact,he had an expression on his face like a bulldog sucking on a wasp.......... Then I realized that's how he normally looks!. But the point remains,he may not be coming to Chels this transfer window,or indeed ever,but I have a feeling it won't be too long before he falls out with Moyes/Fergie/camel face or the manure board & all this sorry saga will start again. After all,he is supposed to be at his peak performance years (& transfer value) wise. So see you again in January!.

Saw '300' again last week and I found it to be an enjoyable film to be honest. But after seeing '300' plus Law Abiding Citizen & Gamer, within a short period, I'm beging to think my missus has a thing for Gerald Butler!. It was made worse when she said after watching '300' that I reminded her of Sparta. Thinking of Butler's six pack I asked why?.............she said like Sparta,I was ancient & my body was in ruin!. Honestly,women can be so cruel.

Thanks barn for your reply and yes your right, it is much,much harder to find a future 'star' these days than it was back then. But,with spuds paying just £7 million for a young Gareth Bale,there still seam's to be great value players around,even by today's standard. Even so,an older Rooney still can bring a lot to Chelsea and as you say, he will help Lukaku develop his game.

I wonder what are the odds right now that Torres will end up being the Premier League's top goalscorer next season?. Probably on par with Lord Lucan being spotted riding Shergar holding an honest expense's claim from an MP in his hand. But you never know!.......maybe I should put a tenner on it.........or perhaps a fiver.

I don't want to sound like the boring old fart in the room,(at least, I'm not that old!),but just where is the value in todays modern transfer?. At the moment,we are linked to Wayne Rooney who after a large transfer fee,will expect a weekly wage around a mere £250,000 a week for the large part of what's left of his career. Now,(BORING OLD FART ALERT) for what amounts to just about a week's wages for Rooney,we signed players such as Kerry Dixon (£150,000 plus 25,000 add on's) & Pat Nevin (£95,000) back in the eighties. Top value I think you'll agree,(although if you're not old enough you may not know) & even allowing for the 3 decades that have passed since,surely the right way to do things. Even allowing for todays spendthrift attitude,dosen't it make more sense to spend big if you have to,but only on a player with his best years BEFORE him (such as Bale) rather than one who's 'peaked' or being more to the point.............f**ked?. Someone with a semblance of re-sale value.Which Rooney dosen't have. At least if it dosen't work out, he'll still be young enough to cash in unlike a certain Spanish striker who we are well and truly shafted with. We were linked with Cavanni for a fee of about £54 mill & with a contract worth around £30-35 million,this investment for a 26 year old who's a real talent but has never played here & may not fancy a 'midweek match at Stoke'! sounded way to risky to me. A combined total of around £90 million quid. So, even if we earned £80 million from winning 2 Champions leagues back to back,we're still short on what we owe just the one player!. That just sounds crazy to me & as the transfer never happend,a bit dodgy to Roman to. But, just where is the value to be found in today's transfer?.

I think throughout Chelsea's history,we've always had a bit of a yo-yo support. If you look at stats compiled on the various websites,(or from old programmes),you'll see examples of matches in years gone by,of crowds of 60,000 plus,only to be followed the week later by one of 28,000!. Strange I guess but then again,perhaps just part of the unique character of this fantastic football club. Having said that,during the early eighties,things did reach a new low.The club was struggling,football as a whole was struggling & just to be clear,football related aggro was killiing the game. It might be worth bearing in mind that young guys who might fancy a tear up at the football,make up only a small percentage of the folks who want to go and support their team. But,during that period,it was mostly lads who went to football,women & families were a rare sight. All these factors did have a big effect on attendance figures I feel,although having said all that,Ken Bates made a very good point back then when he said something along the lines of... " if the football played on the pitch is rubbish,you could give it away for free & still nobody will turn up to watch it". Something as true today as back then.

Still can't get my head around the fact that a player at his so called 'peak' years like Rooney is supposed to be, would look to leave a club as big in status as Man U?. Not having a dig at us but,historically,fooballers in this isle have often looked towards Man Utd for a step-up in their careers,both in terms of glory but also when it comes to the dough. Looking at Van Persie, that point still seams to have merit. If he really wanted a fresh challenge, then that would be great,but if it's more a case of he wants the millionare lifestyle,but without the graft that it takes to earn it & he feels that CFC is now the best option for that,then thanks,but bollocks to you mate. Haven't heard anything from Rooney or his people that point to his desire for a new 'challenge'...........has anyone?. My main gripe with all this is that I really don't want chels stuck with another underperforming player who thinks more about himself than what it took to get him there in the first place. Personally,I think it's a non-starter.

I always thought London derbies were the worst games for aggro. Particulary matches against Millwall & West Ham. Most of all West Ham. What made it worse I thought,was as we were all London/Essex boys you just couldn't tell by looking who was with who. Everybody was dressed in the latest gear. Bit of a mare if I remember correctly.
