Class strikers thin on the ground
everton put in a 6m bid for him, preston turned that down as they found the amount too low.

Chelsea killjoys - the end of celery
it's on the OS too Fri, 16th Mar 2007 The throwing of anything at a football match, including celery, is a criminal offence for which you can be arrested and end up with a criminal record. The Football Association is now investigating referees' reports that celery has been thrown at two recent Chelsea Football Club matches which could result in sanctions being taken against the club. In future, if anyone is found attempting to bring celery into Stamford Bridge they could be refused entry and anyone caught throwing celery will face a ban. Your co-operation is requested and if you see anyone throwing celery in the stadium you should report the details on 020 7915 1919. All calls will be treated in confidence. http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea180706/i.../list_2209129_1

knee surgery for bridge tonight
http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea180706/i.../list_2209129_0 Tue, 13th Mar 2007 Wayne Bridge will undergo a cartilage operation on his knee this evening (Tuesday). We wish Wayne all the best and look forward to his return to action as soon as possible. Speaking to Chelsea TV this afternoon, prior to the operation, Chelsea club doctor Bryan English explained: 'He had been struggling with pain at the back of the knee for about three weeks. A scan confirmed that he had a tear in the meniscus, the shock absorber in the joint, but it was a stable tear. 'We thought we may be able to leave it to the end of the season but it got to the stage where he was struggling to do a flat-out sprint so we thought it would be best to get it done. 'When we had this operation done on Damien Duff, we had him back and playing in three weeks and we hope that will be the same with Bridgey. But you always wait for the operation to be done to see what that the prognosis is going to be.' damn these injuries. get well soon bridgey!

Lille protests
Well we didn't do it when Henry scored against us but after that we almost always have a player in front of the ball. So one has got to learn from past mistakes. I bet Lille will do the same. we did. guddy was standing there until poll told him to step back...

Porto...will we progress?
I'm sorry, but Maka should play in the Champions League. Too many reasons which I'd be willing to name if someone does not agree with me. Cech Ferriera-Carvalho-Terry-Bridge Essien-Maka-Lampard Sheva-Drogba-Robben Carlo, Geremi, Diarra, Ballack, Obi Mikel, SWP, Kalou
