Stand-Up Comedy
More of a sit-down comedian, Dave Allen was brilliant. I loved Billy Connolly's stuff in the mid-70's, also Jasper Carrott and Bob Newhart, while Bob Monkhouse was apparently a great stand-up comic though I wasn't lucky enough to see him live. Funniest I've ever seen on stage though was Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson, absolutely had me creased up every time I saw him!

Best Dressed Casuals Book
Early 70's I wore Levi StaPrest strides, Ben Sherman or Brutus shirt, Levi jacket or Crombie (depending on the weather), brogues or DM's, smart as f*ck. Late 70's I was resplendent in a donkey jacket most of the time, easier to blend in with the scruffy northern types and gain entry to the away ends. Never went in for the casual stuff personally, though I did sport a Sergio Tacchini jacket now and then.

Your current favourite top twenty artists/bands
Plokkers, as BF says, best to start with "Irish Tour '74" and "Live In Europe" and besides, they're also my favourite Rory albums anyway. The Irish Tour DVD is awesome! Another album that's right up there is "Blueprint" which includes the classics 'Daughter Of The Evergades' and 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son'. Generally speaking, his earlier albums are the blusiest.

Cult TV series.
Did anyone see the series "Ben Hall" in the mid 70's? It was a non-fictional drama about the Wild Colonial Boys in New South Wales during the mid nineteenth century. Never saw it myself, but I'm currently reading a book on the subject and find it fascinating, a bit like an Aussie version of the Wild West. Been looking on the net to see if it's been released on DVD or even VHS, but no joy.

Robin Williams
I was never a fan but he made me laugh sometimes. It's tragic that he felt he couldn't face life anymore, and my heart goes out to the ones he's left behind - I know from experience just what they are going through.

Rangers 1-2 Hearts SPFL Championship
Not an ideal start, but I'm not that worried (yet). Hearts just down from the SPL, Gers just up from Div.1, you could say there's a two division gap. Besides, Hearts are my second Scots side, be a different story if we lost to Hibs!

Favourite football kits
Scotland's mid-70's kit is a great shout, second football shirt I ever bought! Chelsea's 76/77 shirt was my first.

Favourite football kits
Further to the "Wearing other teams colours" thread, I just wondered what kits people on here like. For me, the best ever kit was the one worn by Chelsea in the late 60's/early 70's, both home and away (obviously), but there have been plenty of other kits I've liked over the years. For instance, I always liked Southampton's strip of red & white stripes, black shorts, red & white socks, back when the stripes were the same width. I also like the Wolves old gold/black, though they played in all old gold when I was a kid. Hull's gold & black stripes has always looked smart too. Newcastle's famous black & white was always one of my favourites too. Crystal Palace used to wear shirts with wide claret stripes and narrow light blue, with yellow/gold trim. Forfar wore green & white stripes, and another Scottish club wore green & black stripes, can't remember who though. Overseas, the Ajax kit has always looked great, as has Feyenoord's, and I always loved Inter's strip. How about you lot?

Drogs Costs Torres
If Costa, Drogs & Torres are all on top form, no problem, we'd be covered if one of them was out for a while through injury. It's highly unlikely they'd all be on form all season though, and much as I like Torres, I really think we should get rid. Not going to be easy though, even if we let him go on a free, how many clubs would be willing to meet his wage demands? And let's face it, Costa is likely to be suspended for about ten games a season. I'd prefer to bring in a young British striker with a bit of ambition, but admittedly they're very thin on the ground. Maybe someone like Charlie Austin, Jordan Rhodes or Danny Ings, decent young Championship players who may be willing to take a chance as backup at the Bridge. Unfortunately I can't see Mourinho taking that option.

chelsea bid £20 million for Miranda
Isn't Miranda that big bird off the telly? Haven't seen her play but looking at her I reckon she'd make a good, tough central defender, like Micky Droy but with tits

The one that got away
George Best said that he'd have loved to play for Chelsea alongside Osgood, Cooke, Hudson, etc...what a signing that would have been, just imagine Bestie playing for the Blues! The players would have loved it, the fans would have loved it, the local crumpet would have loved it, and all the local publicans would have loved it. Imagine a quiet night in your pub, and then in walk George Best, Peter Osgood, Tommy Baldwin, Charlie Cooke and Alan Hudson - Ka-Chinggg! Unfortunately our manager at the time didn't have the balls to even contemplate another piss-head at the club, and so we missed out on a wonderful opportunity.
