  1. I wouldn't let Alex go. Always performed well for us and when he came on at Old Trafford, where Luiz struggled, he put in another excellent display.
  2. Looking at things from up in Scotland Chelsea are certainly seen as a big club. People of an older generation perhaps remember other club's past success and therefore overlook us. However I think generally Chelsea are viewed as a big club, although it may simply be the case that arrogant fans (those at Arsenal mentioned above for example) do not want to admit it. I dont think big clubs view finishing fourth as a success, whereas given that Wenger is still in a job, seems to be the case at Arsenal.
  3. I think at Liverpool they were a bit more direct. Basically they tried to get the ball to Gerrard or Torres as quickly as possible because the rest of their players werent really on the same level. This suited torres because generally he had more space to operate and isolate defenders in situations which he was good at. The slower build up play of last season really didnt suit him at all, it was there for all to see. If we are to get the best out of Fernando Torres then we have to either change the system or change the speed at which we play. The new manager much address this immediately in my opinion.
  4. Luiz is still young and can be moulded into a great centre half in my opinion. I would stick with him and Terry for next season as the preferred partnership and hope Terry's experience can rub off on him. I live in Glasgow and am also a Rangers fan and as many will know Davie Weir, who is now 41!, played and captained the team with various different partners. The likes of Carlos Cuellar and Danny Wilson were great at CB alongside him and Bougherra is now in that position. My point is I think that particularly at CB experience is vital and so hopefully Terry can pass that onto others - particularly Luiz.
  5. I think Rodwell would do a decent job to be honest however as guys have suggested he maybe lacks the bit of quality that we should be looking for. Certainly if the asking prices is anything near the likes of Jones and Henderson then we would be better off looking at other players
  6. Can't see Redknapp being our new manager. I think we could do worse but also believe that we could do a whole lot better. Hiddink has to be our main target and failing that we could do with somebody with a track record of winning titles and ideally a good European record. Surely somebody decent has to be lined up otherwise it made no sense to get rid of Carlo so quickly.
  7. Don't see the point in sacking Carlo to bring in somebody like Benitez. Maybe if Hiddink was lined up then I could understand it but not for that Spanish failure.
  8. Hi guys I work in a small accountancy firm and my boss is of the older generation and not really up to date with modern technology to any great degree. Anyway he finally wants to create a website for the business but is unsure of how to do this. Anyway we have had various quotes ranging from various prices so I was looking for a bit of help with this. Basically it would require a Home Page with maybe 4 sub-pages at most and possibly a contact form. Nothing too complicated. Just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to go about this.
  9. Hello people I am a Rangers fan from Scotland but like my uncle, whom I go to the games with, I also support Chelsea. Having signed up for the Rangers equivalent of TheShedEnd - FollowFollow - I thought that I may as well join in here as well and keep up to date with all the goings on. Unfortunately in Scotland there isnt a great deal of coverage of the english game in the newspapers and so a lot of activity goes past without notice. I have just finished university and got a full-time job so hopefully by saving the pennies I will be able to get down and take in a number of Chelsea games at long last, something I've been wanting to do for ages. Cant wait for the friendly game at Ibrox. If it is as good as the last one then we should all be in for a very enjoyable day.
  10. Excellent news. As you may have notice from my username I support both Chelsea and Rangers. The last game at Ibrox was simply fantastic. One of the best friendlies I can remember. Hopefully the same again with the place bouncing again
  11. The only reason I would consider selling Drogba is if we had a young replacement lined up immediately with the proceeds of the sale. We need to start looking for a replacement as soon as possible.
  12. I think its obvious that the sooner we get the manager sorted out the better. Other clubs can continue with their transfer activity while we are unable to do so. I think we could do with a few signings so the later we leave it then the harder it could get
  13. I think its definetely worth investing in some quality young players. Althought the current activity in the league has been over-the-top I think it is important to have players like that in your squad. Despite the outlay that is required young players can serve the club for years to come and still have a decent value for resale. As suggested above Rodwell could be an excellent addition to the squad. Need to have an eye on the long term.
  14. Not a player I would target. He is a good player but not somebody I would want to spend loads of money on.
