The most enjoyable game since the CWC game v PSG. Great performances all round with intensity and attacking intent.
I strongly suspect Arsenal will make things a lot more difficult at the weekend though.

I have nothing against him personally, but I think we've done pretty well out of this deal.

DaRick reacted to Deino in Another Winger! - Noni MaduekeArsenal fans as a collective are almost always an embarassment. Between AFTV launching the social media careers of a bunch of twats and the ridiculous protests across the years, this one is up there at the very top

Noni Madueke: Why #NoToMadueke is trending among Arsenal...
Arsenal are closing to signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea for just over £50m, but there has been backlash from fans.I can understand their point, but it's funny to see Arsenal fans embarrassing themselves like this.
I feel pretty neutral about this. There are many players that I'd prefer to sell before him, I think he would have been a good squad rotation option, but we can only sell when there are interested buyers.

DaRick reacted to RMH in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25So what? Can't you just be sorry for the loss of two young players without adding the "but..."? Aren't you able to show any empathy? Are you a psychopath?

DaRick reacted to Valerie in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25Drop it. Please. Know when to stop.

DaRick reacted to Deino in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25Exactly. When Mudryk was under suspicion we put him on ice until it was proven and that was from PEDs. This was an actual crime. Sick.
When we had CHO on r*pe allegations and the grooming by our then-scout debacle, the club shut everything down on that end until the allegations were cleared in case 1 and all the settlements were done behind closed doors in case 2.
Lost my respect for them as an institution

DaRick reacted to Boyne in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25This. About 15 years ago I was driving along the M3 motorway in Southern England and one of the rear tyres blew out. I wasn't exceeding the speed limit which was 70 mph nor driving recklessly. I was shaken up but managed to get to the hard shoulder. It could have resulted in a nasty accident, not only for me but also for the other drivers. Fortunately it didn't. I've been driving for over 40 years and as you say it can happen to anyone.
-
There’s been no mention of speeding or reckless driving anywhere. Tire blew out while he was overtaking. sh*t can happen to anyone.

DaRick got a reaction from The Rising Sun in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25There is no evidence that they were speeding, and any car can blow tyres.
-
DaRick reacted to RMH in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25I drive that road up and down multiple times a year and it isn't a very dangerous one. Tyre bursts can happen at any speed and whether at 120km/h (the speed limit) or at 200km/h, it is a dangerous thing to happen. We don't know at what speed they were going so it's best not to speculate. In any case, showing empathy to a couple of young men dying should not be dependant on their driving, should it?

DaRick reacted to Valerie in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25Don't apologise for having a limited (I would say faulty) filter and in the next paragraph cheerily continue in the same vein. We're all adults who can think this for ourselves.

No matter the competition, it’s always a fantastic feeling to win silverware. My hope for the future is today’s success will drive our squad to win greater trophies.
Credit to Maresca. Been very critical of him throughout the season, but he deserves to enjoy the moment and at least he’ll have a trophy honour next to his name.
Finished 4th, qualified for Champions League and won the Conference League. The season has concluded nicely.
-
When Clough started out they won the Anglo-Scots cup and he says that brought the hunger for more silverware, hopefully it augurs well for us.
-
It’s a great outcome to have secured Champions League football. The playing squad will be excited and it will make it easier to attract any future signings.
Cannot be emphasised enough how important the financial windfall is as well.
I wrote us off weeks ago, but fair play to everyone for grinding out results and getting 4th spot. Hopefully it’s a platform we can build from.

Not to bring any controversy also to this thread (😲) but the narrative among some fans and podcasters (Chelsea journos) around the Conference League was we shouldn't be in it because we are mighty Chelsea and this competition is full of bums and second rate teams (which is true on a large scale) we end up facing a respectable side who could also win it. Betis is a good side with a good manager. It is not given we take this. Suddenly it is a respectable cup to win? No? Yes? Make up your mind.
To this young side need points of success in this project. We need to take steps and to me this is perfect for it. If we were at Europa we could have stumbled on the way easily.
-
Really annoying that we play this game with 2 days less rest than Real Betis because we simply must have the last day of the Premier League be on a Sunday 😐
-
Whilst we have turned our noses up at this competition throughout this season, having now qualified for the CL I think this match takes on more significance now.
In the same way that Jose placed so much importance on winning the league Cup because of the springboard effect for confidence, it feels the same now. He has to win this and get some silverware. Hopefully we can win with some style.
