  1. Voted for Mata, he was superb. Not getting excited about "The Torres of old being back". I've been fooled before.
  2. Some of the Cahill criticism here is absolutely ridiculous, but I don't see as being our captain for some reason. Luiz has the personality to be captain, but not being fluent in English doesn't make him ideal, so I'd go for Mata. Hopefully it's not Cech, hate it when the goalie is the captain. Also, longer term, Nathaniel Chalobah was born to be captain.
  3. It does seem that way, but I wouldn't expect them to say otherwise to a newspaper...
  4. Although Mikel drives me mad at times, he is still a very solid player. 5 years seems a bit excessive but it's still nice to see a player committing to the club, especially at a time where if I was a player, I would want out ASAP. Good on him, massively improved over the last couple of seasons.
  5. Aren't Malaga broke? I thought their investers pulled out or something so they had to sell their best players? Cazorla, Rondon etc etc
  6. it's about putting the club before your ego. It staggers me that people would rather see us lose than win with Benitez. Utterly ridiculous. Just because the FSW is here doesn't mean it's not Chelsea Football Club any more. As important as the club identity is, the thing I love about Chelsea most, is going to the matches and watching them win. Watching Chelsea win is the best feeling, and I'm not going to stop going to matches to cheer on Chelsea because I don't like the manager or because I don't like how Robbie was treated. Just get behind the team and move on.
  7. Definitely Mata. I think if Cahill had played more he would definitely be up there, been excellent in almost every game he's played yet still can't get ahead of Luiz on the team sheet who wouldn't make my top 10 players so far this season. Oscar, Cech, Cole and Ramires all been very good consistently. Hazard has been very quiet in recent weeks, electric at the start of the season.
  8. Wow, I really really really hope your joking.
  9. Maybe I misheard but I don't remember him saying that Mourihno will definitely go to PSG, I thought he said that if Rafa is still at Chelsea and if Pep goes to City then it makes sense for him to go to PSG with the links he/his agent have to the club.
  10. I value Guillem's opinion/view/insight higher than any other journalist so before I even listen to this, he's right. Genuinely has good contacts and is friends with many people in the game i.e. Rafa, and in particular Guardiola, who's biography he just wrote. He's like Ian McGarry, but his contacts aren't make believe. Edit: Maybe a bit overly defensive of Torres..
  11. Hopefully, we can crack on, get behind the team and get a run going. To be honest, I thought the people with 'RAFA OUT' signs by the corner flags looked like complete berks. I was hoping that the fans, unlike the board, would get through today with some class. Felt sorry for the players, who should have come out to massive cheers and encouragement ,not boos, even if it wasn't aimed at them. Found it all a bit bizarre, especially with a minute of silence in the middle of it. Everyone is entitled to express they're opinion to the owner but when said owner is an extremely temperamental, volatile, egotistical billionaire, that's pretty risky business. Like me, the majority of fans will never accept Benitez, but good results will certainly lessen the abuse to him and the board and make the whole situation much easier. I know that most on here will disagree with me, but I was really disappointed today. I had hoped that today would be remembered for the support the fans showed to Robbie, instead it will be remembered for the booing and the chanting.
  12. 2 votes for Torres. So far....
  13. Definitely Azpilicueta. Was pretty much faultless all match and got very involved going forward. Branna, Cech and Rambo also did very well. The pedestrian up front was his usual 3 to 6 out of 10.
  14. Completely understandable if true. The way things are going at Chelsea a nice big payday abroad probably looks like the best option. Constantly seeing managers that you grow to like, respect and consider a friend getting sacked must be getting very tedious for the 'old guard'. Our board is so f**ked up they won't even give the best LB in the world a 2 year contract. I would like to link this to Torres and the avalanche that started with his transfer, but the fanboys will probably hunt me down and kill me. Hopefully they're short sighted.
  15. Not even nearly as funny or as well made as this :-
  16. It makes it very hard to even try and accept Benitez when I keep finding quotes from him.... :- ''Chelsea is a big club with fantastic players, every manager wants to coach a such a big team. I would never take that job, in respect for my former team at Liverpool, no matter what. For me there is only club in England, and that's Liverpool''

    I think you'll find it's a video. (This was also a joke)

That was an extremely cowardly attempt at banter! If people don't realise it's a joke that's their problem.

Ooooo another excuse to use this then.... not that I need one....
  21. By protesting I meant booing and singing chants against, like it or not, our manager. Didn't take into account that singing RdM's name will be seen as a protest, just the inevitable support that he is going to get from the fans. As much as anyone hates Benitez, singing abusive chants to him and booing him helps absolutely nobody, in particular the players, who a lot of people seem to have forgotten about in the last few days. A young team with a new manager trying to beat the current league champions need the fans to create a great atmosphere and get behind them. I'm not sure what booing/chanting is supposed to achieve? Maybe it will make Roman sack Benitez and re-hire RdM.
  22. Please tell me this gimp has a dating profile too?
  23. As cringeworthy as that was, my opinion of him is slightly less brutal than it was before hand. Then again, I'm not one of the f**ktards that plans on protesting on Sunday...
