  1. Oh come on, they've also won every title since he left and were hardly going through a barren spell while they were in Serie A before being demoted for off-field issues either. Look here, https://www.transfermarkt.com/juventus-turin/alletransfers/verein/506 Conte was in charge for 11/12, 12/13 and 13/14. I make it roughly over 40 first team players signed and an absolute maximum of 7 a success as far as Juve are concerned. Absolutely no evidence of him being a great squad builder as far as recruitment goes. More like the opposite if anything.
  2. He's been fit pretty consistently for about a year now and seems to have gotten over his verbal diarrhea as soon as he doesn't start a game. HG too. We should really have 3 strikers so why not Morata, Dzeko and Studge.
  3. On what basis? Look at his transfers at Juventus and they will not provide any such basis.
  4. Funny you mention him because it struck me only the other day how this squad (take out Cahill and Fabregas) is the type of squad tailored to him and sliding doors/different time in life etc etc etc.
  5. That policy is generally only for renewals (and back-up keepers). Mostly because we almost never sign players over 30. If Dzeko joins it will of course be a longer deal than 1 year, would most likely sign to 2021 or at least 2020 with a club option to extend a year.
  6. I would feel sorry for anybody that actually thinks this is anything other than a media windup/sticking the knife in but life must be somewhat liberating actually being that dumb.
  7. And people wonder how English football journos get away with being so bad, it's because people seemingly swallow anything. We would never pay his wages. We would never pay the agents fees and I doubt we'd pay the transfer fee either. It's just journos trying to milk more out of the transfer story because it's a done deal and they're setting up their next weekload of rubbish articles about how Jose got one over on Conte because they're all too in love with City and Pep to bash them with that brush so we're a convenient even though totally fantasy driven substitute.
  8. He had no interest in the first galf, one of the worst 45 minutes i've seen in a long time. Sadly, I think he's shown himself to be a character that can't be relied upon or trusted to remain engaged and professional unless he's an integral part of things.
  9. Calling him terrible would be flattering. He's like a shadow on the pitch unless the ball lands at his feet or on his head inside the box.
  10. I don't know how Mourinho's wife lives with him. Oh right, she doesn't.
  11. This would be the sort of stupid signing a club makes when they give the power to the manager/coach and one i've feared happening since Emenalo left. Your rent-a-quote pundits and fans that are stuck in the 90's would be delighted but it's short-sighted and doomed to at the very best be not disastrous but in most cases will turn out terribly. Bayern signing Goretzka and letting Vidal go is similar to a few years ago where thy signed Thiago and let Schweinsteiger go, we all know how that story panned out. In modern football, you simply can't give the most important club decisions worth millions and millions of pounds to an employee who is only interested in the here and now because it's what they will be judged on. The only time we have done that in the last 10 years was in Mourinho's second stint and it cost us de Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku. I hope the club have more sense and balls than to give Conte what he wants, because what he wants and what we need are two completely different perspectives.
  12. Dele Alli quite clearly called Pereyra a "poof" during an altercation today. Interesting to see how it is handled considering the timing being right on the back of the campaign last week. I strongly suspect it will go largely if not completely unmentioned by any mainstream media and definitely ignored by the FA.
  13. What a disgusting and incredibly pathetic thing for a so-called professional to say. It's not long ago this guy was the most expensive player in the world and he's coming out with stupid immature playground nonsense like this. Wishing injury on fellow professionals because it's the only way you could beat them is about as low as it gets in sporting terms. What an absolute twat.
  14. I've got to say you're either footballing blind or simply incredibly stubborn.
  15. I don't use the "view new content" link, couldn't even tell you where it is. I log in and go to the sections/threads I want to view. I wasn't threatening to leave. I don't view my presence or lack of it as being of any significance to warrant it being a threat. Do what's best for the site, i'm not important.
  16. *cough*
  17. Done that, thanks. It's an irritation/distraction visually for me. I also like to be in control of the content I consume. For example the other day one of the new posts was from the non football section and someone discussing the cricket. Now cricket is irrelevant to me but there are many other sports that are not that could also be potentially being discussed that I would not like to see unexpectedly for several reasons. I also from a forum point of view fail to see what it brings as in my mind it will only surely lead to many posts effectively being ignored if attention is only immediately brought to the most recent posts and they draw a direct reply. It could lead to several posts on the same subject being bypassed that would otherwise be read and potentially replied to in normal circumstances.
  18. I can't stand it, so much so that I will probably stay away if it is a "must have" rather than optional.
  19. I feel a sense of inevitability that we will lose this one, I felt the exact same before Roma away. It will make the international break absolutely grim and then the next two league games are West Brom and Liverpool both away. We know the Hawthornes has seen off a few Chelsea managers..........
  20. He doesn't complain about injuries though. He only constantly mentions them when pointing out that he never complains about them. Genius
  21. I heard the other day that Ruben is Carl Cort's half brother, was this common knowledge? (assuming true)
  22. Yes, though they did finish 3rd one of those
  23. They're quite clearly the second best team in the league. I think saying otherwise is just tribal nonsense.
  24. Saw Ben Sahar knocking one in for Hapoel in europe this week. There's one the younger naive me who didn't know any better allowed myself to get excited about when coming through.
  25. He's probably secretly delighted because it gives him a ready-made excuse in case of defeat. The kind of excuse he will mention flippantly and then follow it with "but I don't make excuses". You watch if we beat them, 100% guaranteed.
