Until I see either of those confirmed I wouldn't be so sure, plenty of times players have seemed certain to end up at one club and ended up at another Mertens and Icardi are both close to Costa's level for me, Icardi is a great all round forward, Mertens is more of a technical Aguero-esque forward, but both score plenty of goals. Agree with you on Mbappé, he looks like he'll be top notch, but can we really afford to have an 18 year old leading us in 4 competitions? We could probably do with signing 2 strikers to be honest, especially since Conte doesn't seem to rate Michy. I'd take Mbappé alongside any of the others i've listed if we end up getting rid of Michy.

There are replacements out there, it's just a matter of getting one of them. Griezmann, Aubameyang, Mertens, Icardi, Belotti, Lukaku would all be valid replacements for him in my mind.

Florenzi for me, he's got everything, i know he's out this season with an injury but he's a top quality wingback, he's young, Conte knows him well from italy, wouldn't surprise me if we made a move for him.

I really see Chalobah as a replacement for Matic, he's got the stamina and defensive discipline (I'd actually prefer him starting to Matic now, nevermind in the future), whereas RLC seems more of an attacking player, he's got great ball control and technique for a big guy, but he doesn't seem to have the workrate for a holding/ central midfielder

Unsure, hasn't seemed the same player since that injury, I think he'd be well behind Alonso. Best for him to go to a lower team and if he performs well for a season or two, go back and grab him then, even if it'll cost a bit more

I love the third kit, reminds me a lot of the Ajax away kit, which is lovely. The white is nice too, nice mixture of shades there, but the home kit is disappointing looking, the dark sleeves REALLY don't suit it.

If any of the 'Costa is leaving talk is true' then Pedro would still surely be a nailed on starter with Alexis as our striker, which i would drool over, can you imagine the tricky link-up play between the three of them? If Costa stays, we still have a tonne of games next season with CL coming into play, there would be plenty of playing time for all of them i'd imagine. I really think we need to try and get him, he's one of a handful of truly world class talents in the PL along with Hazard, Zlatan and Aguero, it would be amazing to have him here.

Fair enough, you know more about PSG than me, and I don't disagree that veratti is class, I do think Nainggolan is underrated by a lot of people though. I will say I think Radja would thrive in a better side, he's in a Roma side where the only two players that would get into a real champions league contender side would be himself and Florenzi in my opinion.

Not having a go here, but do you watch enough of them both to make that comparison? I know i don't watch much of PSG so can't comment too much on Verratti except for the hype train he has around him, but i do watch quite a lot of Serie(Calcio) A, especially Juve, Inter and Roma, and I can say that there's a lot more to Nainggolan's game than just a few screamers from distance. He's such a well rounded player, his shooting is fantastic, his passing and dribbling are a excellent, and he's so strong and energetic to put his foot in and win the ball back, he always seems to be everywhere on the pitch, a bit like Kante.

Can you direct me to other people who think being a great goalscorer is not enough? 20-25 goals per season players, regardless of other aspects of their game, are critical to any teams they're in. Show me one player who nets regularly who isn't valuable.

If we signed Alexis Sanchez i'd cream my drawers. Hazard, Costa and Sanchez would be the best attacking trio in the league, and one of the best in Europe. It would also take some of the pressure off hazard, since players wouldn't be able to double up on him with Alexis in the side as well
