andy Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 In a word disappointing... Great story, good acting, stunning makeup, unusual, quite clever in places... but found it tedious, just wandered what others thought ?
dkw Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I haven't seen it, can't stand Brad Pitt. agreed.
Tim Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I have heard that it doesn't deliver on the hype at all, but we have a...dodgy...copy at home so will probably watch at some point.
The Moos Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I haven't seen it, can't stand Brad Pitt. What kind of woman are you!? ;)
andy Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Funnily enough Brad Pitt is excellent in it and probably why the film is getting such good reviews (I am not his greatest fan usually either).... but I just find it slow, I know some film buffs who love it though so who am I to say. Dont mean to put people off it is worth seeing to see what the hype is about and it certainly unsual.
Nibs Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 My Mrs wants to go and see it which is enough to put me off. She has dreadful taste in films. Not a Brad Pitt fan either.
ethicalstrategy Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Does anyone still go to the cinema?
bjd Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Does anyone still go to the cinema? What sort of a pompus comment is that? There is life beyond your laptop y'know. I thought the film was pretty good and Pitt was fantastic.

yorkleyblue Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 One who's tits went missing somewhere in SW6 the last time she was over. All I know is she had them when I left the pub kev
moi Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Well to tell you the truth my current girlfriend has children and it is fun to take them. Take my advice - NEVER call her that to her face! There's a "here today, gone tomorrow" ring about it!

The Moos Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Call her you "interim girlfriend" instead. Sounds much better <_<

I thought the film was pretty good and Pitt was fantastic. I was working on the basis that watching at home on a decent sound system with a big screen was infinitely more enjoyable than packing in to a theatre with sticky carpets and horrible oiks on their mobiles munching popcorn and rustling sweet wrappers. :)
yorkleyblue Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Well to tell you the truth my current girlfriend has children and it is fun to take them. You could try "The potentially next Mrs Andy" - that might work! Edited February 18, 2009 by yorkleyblue

Now you've got me committing the sin of ENVY!! I hate sitting in the cinema with people chattering and giggling during the film, the pervasive sickly sweet smell of popcorn mingling with the disgusting "aromatic" stuff they must spray the place with. I'd rather wait till a film comes out on DVD. I'd LOVE to have a home cinema!
yorkleyblue Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Well, when he says "Home Cinema" he means a 14" black and white portable telly, a betamax tape player and the sound bodged into a 1950's radiogram. he's still got the sticky carpet and people with BO next to him though :) :)
