Arsenal Fan hangs himself after defeat to united

Sick to my stomach reading that. The poor guy probably had alot going on, and we can all sympathize with the feeling of being lower than low when the final whistle blows and Chelsea or whichever sports team you follow have been humiliated. But jesus wept to go that far?

my heart goes out to the guy and his family and friends. Nobody should ever take their life over a game. And as painful as it is to lose someone close to you, im sure its far far worse to have it happen when people believe it was over a damn game of football.

Sometimes, you just lose all perspective. Its a shame, but humans are fallible. God help the poor guy and the people that loved him

r.i.p. to the man

it is sad to learn such news, but it is also familiar when one loves a team so much that this happens.

unfortunate situation - Arsenal were pathetic & AW must resign this minute.

I really feel for this guy's family, they must be devastated. Whatever the reasons for his decision, it's no laughing matter. My parents committed suicide together nearly 20 years ago and not a day goes by without me thinking about them - when they died a large part of me died with them.

My thoughts are with this guys family and friends, even if he was a gooner.

Sorry to hear about your loss Steve. My aunt's brother (aunt by marriage) killed himself a good few years back, and it was devastating!

I really feel for the kid and his family. To take football to that level makes you wonder how sad the rest of his life was

Yet another horrible story from the Black Continent:

Nigerian Man United fan kills 4 Barcelona fans with bus

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria (Reuters) - A Manchester United fan in Nigeria killed four people when he drove his minibus into a crowd of Barcelona supporters after his team lost the Champions League final, police said on Thursday.

The crowd in the town of Ogbo were celebrating Barcelona's victory after Wednesday night's match when the bus drove into them. A police spokeswoman said 10 people were injured and the driver was arrested.

Like I said before, no matter what happens on the pitch, it is still just a game and people shouldn't die because of it.

I honestly don't understand how these people become so emotionally envolved with a club/result in a different country, on a different continent, that they've probably never even been to, let alone been to a game?

Very bizarre

Even still...if this happened in Britain it would be equally tragic.
