Frank Nouble turns down contract offer

Featured Replies

This is not good news......................

Skysports.com understands highly-rated Chelsea starlet Frank Nouble has turned down a professional contract at Stamford Bridge.

The promising striker is regarded as one of the best young players to come through the Chelsea youth ranks after impressing for the youth side and reserves.

Nouble, 17, has been tipped for a big future after catching the eye with a string of impressive performances in the FA Youth Cup and Chelsea reserves side.

Chelsea are keen to secure Nouble's long-term future and offered him a professional contract as reward for his progress.

However, Nouble has snubbed the offer of a contract as he fears his long-term prospects of breaking into the Chelsea first team are hampered by the strength in depth in Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

News of Nouble's possible availability is sure to alert a host of clubs in the Premier League with the teenager rated as one of the best talents in English football.

This is really bad news. But then, they were going to get smart some day.

Sad news, but not very surprising. I don't blame him at all, the chances of a Chelsea youth player becoming a first team regular are about as likely as me marrying a Spuds fan

I guess we're the victims of our own success. Sad news to hear that our kids are realizing that the better options may lie outside of our club. However, I don't buy the notion that the srticle seems to hint at that he'll be straight into other premiership teams.

I think there are some better prospects in our youth set up and if Nouble decides to leave I wish him all the best

Scott

Come on everyone I'm sure you all know that we, collectively, agreed months ago he was an arrogant kid who had an over inflated belief in his ability. I'm sure you all remember that.

apparently he asked for £60k a week. and hes arrogant, and we dont want him anyway. have i missed anything else our city friends have taught us lately?

Yeah, Carlotti's silence is deafening

Maybe that's what scared him off

He always looked a little bit of a Heskey. He does exceptionally well at Youth level because he's much bigger than other kids his age. Borino, for me, is the one to watch.

Yes! I was looking for a comparison, and Heskey fits the bill perfectly.

Di Santo is a Drogba-Crouch hybrid.

Sturridge is Drogba mould.

Nouble like Heskey.

Sahar I thought was a bit like Anelka.

All that we lack is mix of Drogba, Aguero, Villa, Henry and Berbatov/Ibrahimovic. Once we find that player, out future is set.

I didn't intend to get carried away but my comparisons prompted me to dream of a dream future star. :(

EDIT : By the way, I know Sahar left and that's why I wrote a 'was'.

Other than that, I haven't seen much of Borini apart from his goal which was nominated once. A Luca Toni perhaps?

Which other young attacking prospects do we have at our diposal?

That is almost word-for-word what I have thought about him. Scary stuff.

Real Madrid just bought him.

city have paid £20 mill for him, they felt they didnt quite have enough strikers for their 1-1-8 formation...

just one thing on this move from nouble, it highlights the way the media twist everything. we sign sturridge and he and us get slated. studge is called arrogant and gets hammered as he wanted a certain wage (which city agreed to, the rest turned out to be garbage) and for wating certain assurances of first team football). nouble wants a certain wage (which we agreed to) and certain assurances of first team football and leaves to go to west ham and is made out to be some kind of modern day saint. its f**king laughable...

another little thing to show you the imbalance in reporting on these kind of things, we have "taken" somone called billy knott from west ham acadamy. apparently hes one of their best prospects, yet nothing has been said of it. strange that....
