Kakuta's back

Featured Replies

Seems Geal's injury healed very quickly and very well as he took part for the whole reserve match against Crawley United which we won 2-1 with two goals from Fabio Borini who continues to score for fun

superb news. any idea how he played? borini could well be a player that makes it to the first team for us, maybe even more so now with his coutryman in charge here.

Kakuta's back already?? That's brilliant news!

If he's fit enough to play 90 minutes then surely he'll be in shape enough to join the squad for the start of the season?

Good to hear that it has healed quickly, young bones and all that - just wait till he gets a bit older - I find it takes me three weeks to get over a bad boner...

And after a certain age, you don't get them at all.

Make or break season for Kakuta. Has to prove that the knee injury hasn't ruined his speed and agility.

I wouldn't say it's make or break, after all, as far as I'm aware he's only just turned 18. But it might be make-or-break in terms of making it as a truly world class footballer.

I am aware I probably shouldn't ask this, but...

how do you differentiate a BAD boner from a GOOD boner?

i doubt its make or break in any way, hes only just 18 and last season was his first as a recognised reserve player after stepping up to from the acadamy. i know the pressure on young players to break through is high nowadays, but i dont think your out by 18 quite yet.

Can you stop using the word 'break'? He's only just got over his.

he's too small, too one footed, too greedy. he'll never make it in the premiership, he's a championship player at best.

French Youth Player of the year, and still very young. You don't think he has any chance,G4?

I know that for a youth team product to break into the premiership, let alone the Chelsea first team, is very hard. But Kakuta looks pretty damn lively form what I've seen of him

ahem, you just described lionel messi.

he completely bottled the fa youth cup final.

he hardly completely bottled it, he was quite easily our best player. but are we now writing players off after one game?

Stop dissing Kakuta G4, you know you're only doing it because he's got a better selection of t-shirts than you. Plus he's even slower to the bar as well.

Take no notice guys, G4 reckoned Drogba was sh*t after 2 seasons at the club and was advocating him being sold...

I have high hopes for him (Kakuta that is, not G4)

no, we're writing them off after they've proven themselves to be useless time and again. how many managers have been at the club since kakuta joined? and how many even risked giving him a game? only scolari, and he was the worst of them. and in the end even he knew better than to bring him on.

and he's a bad influence in the dressing room- remember he wanted to leave for arsenal (like they'd want him), and our best spell of form came when he was injured, and thus away from the dressing room. his a disruption influence OBVIOUSLY.

let's face it, wenger knows french football inside out, and he gets in the quality youth like diaby who ran rings around lampard in the carling cup final when he was 16, and we get kakuta. lens let him go for free, why are we signing they're rejects?

To early to judge him at 18 years old.

I don't think will be (or should be) anywhere near the first team this season. For an 18 year old to make this jump, he literally needs to be the same quality as Messi or Rooney were at 18. Kakuta has shown some promise, but I don't think anyone could argue that he's at that level yet.

He's probably still a bit too young to send out on loan. If he does really well for the reserves, then maybe a loan spell at a Championship side in the second half of the season might be good.

He's a prospect for the first team in 2 or 3 years time (if he proves himself in the reserves, then on loan). Definately not for this season.
