worst away end in football?

That is quite nice compared with Villa away :-) never liked it there.

the old Leicester stadium was pretty bad as well, is it a midlands theme ? (maybe where the "and leicester" comes from ??)

Just to change it round a bit.. Cashburden Grove is probably the best I been to for the first time I went last season, but maybe that was somehting to do with the result.

West Brom had a grim away end, what a dump, I remember the toilets were at the back of the stand with no roof, you just p***ed up against the wall and then walked through it all to get back out.

Can't really complain about West Brom for that, the bogs behind the Bovril entrance were just the same (apart from the roof), and if you wanted a dump at the Bridge you were in big trouble :D

Apart from that, my knowledge of away ends ain't that great, more often than not I'd go in the home end :139:

Loftus Road, upper tier was and probably still is terrible. Norwich used to be bad, stuck in the corner with a full height metal fence blocking the view, best to try and get in late and maybe by that time the centre empty bit had been opened, after which the whole 90mins descended into a coin chucking excercise.

Looking at it from a Health & Safety point of view, I'd have to say that the Cold Blow Lane at the old Den was the most dangerous :139:

Call me mad or stupid, but I only ever went in the home when we played at the old Den. Twice in fact.

That was a truely scary ground though!

Too true. I went in the CBL with a mob of Chelsea in 1976/77 (the game we lost 0-3), not the best idea I've ever had :139:

Yep, I was in the same mob but got turfed out by the Old Bill before too long. Tried to get round to the Ilderton Road end but didn't get in - from what I heard it was even worse in there.

However, as far as complete and utter sh*tehouses go, you'd have to go a long way to go to beat the old Vetch in Swansea. Every time we went there we were herded into a dangerously packed area in the away end (I know we've gone over this one before) then when we were allowed into the large terrace at the side, seriously I couldn't tell where the pisshouse ended and the terraces began. Outside was funny. You had these Swansea fans complaining to the Old Bill about the lack of protection, and "you're only nicking our boys. Why don't you nick the f**king cockneys?"

Answer: Because, being Chelsea supporters we were all fine, upstanding, law-abiding chaps. Every one of us to a man!

Yea aston the place and their away end is horrible. I haven't been there in years but when i went got coins thrown at us all game and when complained to stewards they told us to shut up or we would get kicked out

i went villa away last year and didnt have any problems at all. as literaly next to their fans and had decent banter as ell. maybe it was different when away fans were behind th goal.

Plough Lane of Wimbledon fame was just awful !

Nottinghm Forrest's away end was awful if you got in late and could only stand on the side . At best you might see a bit over the 18 yard line of one goal but f*ck all else no chance of seeing kick off let alone a goal at the other end . I recall one game being told by a helpful copper that if you wanted to see anything you had to be in the seats which you could only buy from him for £5.00 face value £3.00.

I have to agree with QPR . It is the only match ticket I have which has "diabolical view " printed on the ticket . I will try and scan a copy and post it up

Good call on QPha. Can I also add Oxford Utds Manor Ground which was just a joke. Kenilworth Road is hilarious too you basically had to walk through someones garden.

I hate the Nou Camp too. Great stadium and great day of course but its like watching matchsticks playing football up there.

Definatley kennelworth road. QPR is absolutley shocking though. I never found Fulham to be too bad (other than price) but then i never had a restricted view seat

I'm talking before all seater stadium. It was almsot like a subuteo stand, when we scored the hole away end used to move up and down and from side to side, plus with the added fact that it had no cover and you were literally stood on the banks of the Thames.

On a wet Tue evening in the middle of winter it wasn't the greatest place to watch a game.

when celtic park was getting done up they had a temporary stand for the league cup final in 1996 between rangers and hearts

when the gers fans started doing the bouncey, we thought the whole stand was going to collapse (i was in the other stand watching it bend in the middle)

only english ground i've been to was goodison a couple of seasons ago (the thursday night game). their wooden stand was nothing to write home about
