Chatting to a mate who works as a sports presenter on one of Irelands Radio stations spoke of liverpools preferred appointment as manager has Guus top of their wanted list .He says a number of journalists have picked up on the rumour within the uk and expect to run with a story this week. He says a source within L.F.C admitted he's their target after the World Cup.

Yeah i agree its a rumour without any substance , but it worries me .

Well they might want him, but they might not get him. Who wouldn't want him?

Also, wasn't there a rumour that he was coming back to us but taking another job within the club?

I bet this is all a rumour or else it's not and he'll "snub" them. Either they'll stick with Rafa or else they'll get Redknapp.

Give them Jose, and we'll take Guus back.....although I want Carlo to be given a shot, I can't help but feel unless he produces major silverware we already have Guus waiting in the wings for after the World Cup

There are rumours about Guus coming back to a director of football position at Chelsea after the WC and I'd much rather believe in those rumours. Would be a smack in the face if he were to join the dippers though. Now that would make me very sad :)

yeah that would be an absolute catastrophe.

Some time ago we may have said the same about Jose joining the dippers, but that wouldn't bother me too much. But Guus would be unacceptable and a real kick in the bollocks. Surely RA wouldn't let it happen...

I was gobsmacked the day Josè left and he'll always be a part of Chelsea history no doubt. But I was at the Blackburn game last season and had tears in my eyes as we sang 'we want him to stay'. And Guus was only with us for four months, says it all really. Now to see him at Liverpool, that would really hurt. I mean hurt as in breaking up with a girl you love and then seeing her with someone else. I wouldn't like it if Josè went on to manage the dippers either, but much rather him than Guus.

I would want neither Hiddink nor Mourinho to ever manage Liverpoop. They might as well make them contenders. :P

"Mclaren to manage Liverpool"

Now that's a proper rumour. :D

:P brilliant, i think we should get that rumour going if possible. post it on as many forums as possible, the dippers will be suicidal.

I reckon Guus can do better than a club in potential financial and potential tactical turmoil. Im sure some big clubs are gonna be in for him after South Africa, especially if he leads the Russians to a good showing.

The director of football thing worries me and it wouldnt be fair to carlo. Right or wrong, he would probably think a few dropped points would result in Roman giving him the boot and putting Guus in, and I doubt that would be healthy for the team

No way fellas! Jose wins the Premiership for fun, sod having him at Liverplod! Jose wouldn't go there and I reckon Guus may opt for a quieter life after Russia, hopefully popping back to us for a job somewhere.

If Guus took over Liverpool it would be horrific for everyone involved.

First, it would hurt to see him in that scumpit.

Secondly, they'd actually be good... :D

I think our love for Hiddink was manifold more than it actually would have been had he managed us in a different circumstance than the one he did. Scolari had turned the team into a rotting sack of potatoes, and the restoration of normal order by Guus made him a Messiah to us fans. If you ask me who I'd rather see among Guus and Jose to manage the dippers, I'd pick Guus.

I agree.. jose is still my favourite manager ...and will probably always be. Im still sad when i think about the day he left ;) Another thing is that he is more connected to Chelsea then Guus, thats because he was here for a longer time and also because of the huge presence he had. Anyways Guus is also an great manager, maybe even better then Jose, if u put personal preference aside ...just see what he did with Korea, Eindhoven, what he does with Russia (they have been as good as dead until he arrived) and how much he helped us after our Scolari-catastrophe

If fat spanish waiter does go it looks like Klinsman is already making it known he would be interested this time. If that's true then I hope he gets it because he'll be even worse than fatboy

A lot of people big up Jose Mourinho (Rightly so!) but most seem to forget he was simply carrying on what Claudio Ranieri started, Chelsea have gone from strength to strength.

I worry about Abramovich's motives. It appears he has set his sights on Champions League glory and appears to punish any manager who does not deliver.

There has been lot of talk about Guus Hiidink returning to the club in some capacity, but I have to say at the moment I am more then happy with the way Carlo Ancelotti has managed Chelsea, There was a lot of fuss over his choice of format and many believed the diamond formation would never work but our results are speaking for themselves and proves it does work.

My biggest worry is how sloppy we have become at defending set pieces and how the upcoming African Nations Cup is going to effect our squad, not to mention the signing ban we have found ourselves with!
