phil brown leaves hull

Featured Replies

Wow... Thanks for the heads up. Ever since he had the half time talk in front of the crowd, I don't think he was that popular around here. I imagine he will become the manager of some Championship team soon.

I haven't seen anything specific about this yet, although Dean Windass says it's time Phil Brown left Hull. From Sky:

Windass - Brown should go

Former Hull City striker Dean Windass believes manager Phil Brown should be "moved on" if the Tigers are to stay in the Premier League.

Amid mounting speculation Brown's future at the KC Stadium could be coming to an end, his former striker has twisted the knife.

And with reports circulating that the Tigers chief did not attend training on Wednesday, Windass told talkSPORT Magazine: "I think sometimes you need a fresh change. Phil's done a fantastic job since he's been there but I think it's time that he should get moved on and bring somebody else in."

However, if the following, also from Sky, is anything to go, it may already be too late for any potential new manager to undo the damage:

Concern over Hull finances

Accountants at Hull City have raised concerns over the state of the club's finances.

The Tigers' accounts - which were filed five months late - have been assessed by auditors Deloitte, who believe they could be in a perilous position should they lose their Premier League status.

A report warns chairman Paul Duffen and the club's directors they would need to generate a surplus of £23million if Phil Brown's side were to be relegated to the Championship.

City retained their top flight status on the final-day of last season, and currently lie 18th in the table.

If Hull stayed up for another season, the accounts say they would still need a £16m surplus to continue living by their current means.

The report warns players would have to be sold in an attempt to balance the books.

The accounts cover the year ending 31st July 2008, when the club made a loss of nearly £10m as they won promotion via the play-offs.

How's your singing, Tim?

Match Of The Day?

Big Brother or Strictly Come Dancing more like.

by the way, expect Liam at any moment.

Quality, or lack of it, is no criterium for MOTD. I think they've had the attention-seeker on MOTD on Sunday once or twice....

apparently hull have come out and denied this

So they've come out but are still in denial? That's one very confused club..............
