June 10, 201016 yr I watched "Ong Bak 2" last night. It's not going to win any oscars but my oh my it was very entertaining. Tony Jaa is the greatest martial artist I have ever seen. For me he is better than Bruce Lee. Plot: Set in the regal times of King Naresuan, Tien (Tony Jaa) is a man who was born into nobility but had it stripped from him after his parents were brutally murdered. During his childhood Tien learned Khon, a form of dance which is usually reserved for royalty. Although he didn't know it yet, Khon would later prove to be an invaluable aide to him. After seeing his parents murdered at the tender age of 10, Tien is forced to live on the streets where he is eventually captured by a group of thieves who take him in and teach him how to steal and fight. Tien's expertise as a thief and fighter grows and it isn't long before he is made head thief. Then Tien sees something that makes his stomach churn. A competition is being held to find the best knights to serve under the very man who had killed Tien's parents all those years ago. Tien passes the tests easily and is made Lord Rachasana's 2nd Knight. Now, he has his opportunity to strike but he will have to use all his skill and ingenuity if he is going to get his revenge on the man who killed his parents.
June 10, 201016 yr I've seen a film where Tony Jaa throws a baby elephant through a window. I can't remember what the film was called, though...
June 10, 201016 yr I watched The Three Burials of Melqiades Estrada the other night - Tommy Lee's directorial debut, I think - It was very good. Fine, quirky plot and a well-studied performances by a relatively little-known cast. Edited June 10, 201016 yr by yorkleyblue

June 13, 201016 yr Went and watched A-team yesterday at the cinema with some mates, awesome movie with lots of action mixed with some humor. 9/10 Does it have anything to do with the original A-Team, or have they just taken the name and the name of the characters and made a movie?
June 13, 201016 yr Does it have anything to do with the original A-Team, or have they just taken the name and the name of the characters and made a movie? Have no idea as I have not seen the original! The Plot: A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed
June 13, 201016 yr You must try to see the original! The wonderful Face and Murdoch, and of course B.A. Baracus. Oh yeah, and George Peppard! Regular Saturday afternoon vieing in my house, that was. But I don't see how it could be the original actors - they'd be too old surely? Edited June 13, 201016 yr by moi

But I don't see how it could be the original actors - they'd be too old surely? Liam Neeson - Hannibal Bradley Cooper - Face Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson - B.A Baracus Sharlto Copley - Murdock Jessica Biel - Charisa Sosa (not sure if that character was involved in the original one but Jessica Biel is always worth mentioning ;p) So yeah, it aint the original actors :P
June 13, 201016 yr OOh! I can imagine Liam Neeson doing the Hannibal role! Is there lots of bang banging but no-one ever really gets hurt? Do they have to inject B.S. Baracus with a sedative before they can get him on a plane?
June 13, 201016 yr OOh! I can imagine Liam Neeson doing the Hannibal role! Is there lots of bang banging but no-one ever really gets hurt? Do they have to inject B.S. Baracus with a sedative before they can get him on a plane? Yes there is, almost non-stop action with them doing ridiculous things and getting shot at without hardly getting hurt - and yeah they do have to inject him before flying since in the movie he got scared of flying after some crazy ride with Murdock!

Great - true to the original then. I shall make a point of seeing that next time I'm in UK. Or possibly of buying the DVD

Sounds like it might be a fun movie. The thing I'm most worried about is how well Rampage Jackson can pull off his role. I guess I'll just have to accept that it's not Mr. T and just try to enjoy the movie.
June 16, 201016 yr Saw "Date Night" a few days ago. It was surprisingly funny. Well worth seeing. Mark Wahlberg has the best part in the entire movie ;) Also saw "Unthinkable" which wasn't bad. Enough suspense to keep me awake and the actors wasn't bad. Even Samuel L Jackson did a good enough job. Watched it because Michael Sheen was in it. He really is a great actor.
June 16, 201016 yr Got Netflix so been going through a lot lately, but recently it's been: Shutter Island Mystery Team Trainspotting Rushmore All enjoyable, plus I'm watching Six Feet Under for the first time, into the 2nd season at the moment.
June 16, 201016 yr Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. You wouldn't know I'm a 90s kid...
June 17, 201016 yr Toy Story 3 commences down here tomorrow. Can't wait. Pixar Animation & Lasseter: the best in the business.
June 17, 201016 yr My friend and I watched Ace Ventura: Pet Detective last night. Absolutely hilarious. I think Jim Carrey might need some help though.
