I watched two random episodes of that last year when we had a snow day and I didn't have to go to school. One was where they were trapped in a police station with demons attacking it, the other was investigating a haunted house along with a documentary-crew. Both were pretty enjoyable. I ended up getting on Wikipedia and reading the synopsis of the series, seemed like there were a lot of interesting plot lines. Still not sure I'll ever get around to watching it.

So my question is are there any Lost fans here? I know the entire series is on Netflix, so I've been debating on whether or not to watch it. I've heard a lot of the criticisms of the show, how it starts off amazing but tapers off over the years as the writers definitely didn't have it all planned out. Also, I know what happens in the last episode. Still, one of my friends said the first episode he ever watched was the last one and he still went back and watched the rest of them and loved the series. Just seeing what everyone's opinion on the show was.

Lost is one of my favourite TV shows, it's defiantly worth watching just for experiencing it. There will come a time where you will be either disappointed or satisfied, for me the show was mainly about the characters and not the Island but they did leave plenty of it untold. I was gripped for the 4 seasons and 5 and 6 were a bit of a let down but still good viewing. It's still easily one of the best TV shows to come out of america though.

Chuck would have to be cult status right? Not a lot of viewers, but ones who were willing to buy truckloads of Subway subs in delicious protests.....

I loved it, even if it did become increasingly mediocre.

Been on a sitcom binge recently. With Community blowing everything I've ever watched out of the water (The Office, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, but not even just sitcoms, I think it's genuinely one of the best all round tv shows on tv at the moment, it's fantastic), I've been dipping my toes into other sitcoms to see if a new one takes my fancy. I'm watching 30 Rock on and off, it's pretty good, but it's nothing specal. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is surprisingly good and I will definitely go back to it. Happy Endings was average as hell and I stopped. I plan on watching Up All Night soon (Will Arnett's new vehicle, hoping for a GOB Bluth esque performance), but at the moment Parks and Recreation is really taking my fancy. I'm half way through Season 2 now and it is really, really funny. It's no Community, but it is a very funny show that I recommend to all.

RBJ - Parks and Rec is my 2nd favorite show, behind Community. It's a very enjoyable show, especially once you get out of the first season. I love Aziz, as well as Nick Offerman. Most of my friends prefer Parks and Rec to Community actually.

Up All Night is ok, I definitely wouldn't expect a Gob Bluth performance from WIll Arnett, but it's not a bad show. I think it's still trying to find its feet.

Was surprised to hear you say you don't like Happy Endings, as I've heard it's quite funny. I have yet to get around to that show.

It's Always Sunny can be so damn funny, it's been a little weaker the last couple of seasons, but still has some pretty good laughs out there.

So I recently started watching several shows. I finally got around to getting the first season of "Happy Endings" on DVD and really enjoyed it, I've heard the 2nd season is where it really hits it stride but it definitely seems like my type of show. I have also started watching "Bob's Burgers" on Netflix, which is also pretty funny. I know it's been on Fox for awhile, but I never got into it. I gave it a chance and have laughed out loud a lot, as it gets pretty silly. Jon Benjamin (voice of Archer) is Bob, Kristen Schaal (Mel from Flight of the Conchords, 30 Rock) voices a character, Eugene Mirman (funny comedian) voices a character, and it's pretty good stuff.

Also, I finally started watching "Mad Men". I know I am really far behind on this, but better late than never. The first season is very uneven, but I am about halfway through the 2nd season and it has been much better. So far I still think this show is overrated, but I also think it's very good, if that makes sense. I love Pete Campbell, mostly because I often hate him in the episodes. I also love Roger Sterling, but mostly because he's just awesome in every episode.

Started watching Breaking Bad some months back and have reached the fourth season. Really good so far.

Also watched Archer for a while. Hilarious.

Saw a tv series from the UK some time back as well, called "Misfits". Didn't much like the first episode but then it grew on me. Not the best show ever, but quite enjoyable. Not sure if I'll watch the fourth season though. Most of the original cast will be gone so it wont be the same.

Skimmed through, lightly, but I can't believe Mad Mac was the only one to mention my introduction into Brit Humor.

The Young Ones was so vital to my young mind when MTV ran the (edited) episodes.

Other cult shows I adore:

Mystery Science Theatre 3000

Mr. Show With Bob and David

Arrested Development

Misfits (cult in america)

The Adventures of Pete and Pete

The Mighty Boosh

Spaced (ditto in america)

Black Books

Metalocalypse (got to see Dethklok in "concert")

Louie

Life with Louie

Parks and Rec

Spy

Not sure if it plays outside of the US, but does anyone else besides the above poster watch "Louie"? Going through the 2nd season right now, quite funny but also some very dark moments. Probably one of my favorite shows currently on television.

Ace, Louie is tits. If you ever get a chance to see Louis C.K. do live stand up, pounce on that.

Oh yeah. I've always enjoyed his stand-up, but there's been a lot of guys that were great at stand-up but had sub-par tv shows. It's great to see someone like him do so well.

Louie had two cancelled tv shows before he hit and stuck with this most recent one. Tenacity and great writing is one thing Louis C.K. has going for him. He tours every year and it is a brand new 60 minutes of material.

Finally finished watching The X-Files series'. Bit of a weak ending I thought. 9 years of building up to the "Truth" and it was all a bit... "meh". I suppose it might have been a bit better when it was aired, but there's been so much crap about that whole Mayan calendar thing in the last few years that it seems a bit naff.

Still got the 2 films to go though, so will watch them soon. Then I'll have to come up with something else to occupy my evenings I suppose :/

What's it about?

I can't say a lot, it's centred around the life of Leonardo Da Vinci's younger life, it's going to be pretty big. It's my first gig on a TV show, really lucky to be involved.

Does anyone else remember 'The Six Million Dolar Man' with Lee Majors as Steve Austin (no,not the wrestler)?.

Good job he's not built with Euro's or he'd be well f**ked by now!.

Are you old enough to remember Lyndsey Wagner (knumpfff!!!) as the Bionic Women?.

Where is she now?(sadly, probably looks more like Lee Majors nowdays).

Did you make that 'Bionic' sound in the school playground or was I the only sad twat?.

Do you care?,or even know what the hell I'm talking about?.

Judging by the lack of response to my " do you remember the Six Million Dollar man" & make those "bionic" sounds in the playground questions above, makes me come to the following conclusions:

A:Nobody remembers the "Six Million Dollar Man".

B:Some people do remember it but didn't make "bionic" Noises in the playground.

C:Some people do remember it & did make "bionic" sounds in the playground but don't want to admit to it.

D:What the f**k are you talking about you f**kwit simpleton?.

On a completely different point,I recently watched again, for the first time in years, the Stanley Kubrick film, Full Metal Jacket.

For sure a film of two halfs, great in the first part with the new recruits going through their training, but completly loses it's way when the story moves on to Vietnam.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I've yet to work out why that film seems so misjointed?.

I can't get my head around people dumping on FMJ's second half, sure, it's different to the first half and sure, for a Vietnam film it isn't exactly conventional, but what do you expect from a director like Kubrick? I love the tension that is inherent in the small scale, street to street scenes in Hue city.

The second half is certainly good as opposed to great, which is an apt description for the paris island period of the film, but I don't think it detracts from the whole picture.
