Some blog writer said the following regarding the title, not sure I've seen anyone else mention this:

"They are the first team in Premier League history to sweep Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool home and away in the same season (by a combined score of 12-1). They’ve earned it."

I've had law finals the last couple weeks and not going off much sleep, my apologies if this is a repost or just was blatantly obvious to everyone.

Copy/Paste from other Thread ::ChELSeAFaN::

Besides that i think we already havde the record for best "Goal Difference" we have currently +63, and the record is +55 for Manchester U i think.

Now just need to earn it in the final match. If we fail to win, stats like that are meaningless.

I mentioned that exact stat in another thread when saying why I think we deserve the title. I admit I didn't know it hadn't been done before though..superb.

Alright brothers and sisters, what have we achieved so far with regards to setting records?

Confirmed:

- First team to do the double over Arsenal, Liverpool and Utd

- Highest goal difference in PL history (?)

Could be achieved:

- Highest number of goals scored in PL history

Could be achieved:

The first league + FA Cup double in the club's history. One step at a time, though. First secure the title(s) and then see if you made any records.

Apart from the obvious mate

The double would be immense for us, but I'm looking at the ingredients within the league which have laid the path.

Talking about making Records...I miss the days when the team got together and recorded a song for the FA Cup, time for a remake of Blue is the Colour I reckon young Obi has got some Tracy Chapman in him...could do something to the tune of Fast Car

I'm not getting carried away and saying we will be definitely champions (even though I fully expect it at this stage).

What I am asking is what have we already achieved record wise?

It is a brilliant stat, but only if you beat the "lesser" teams as well. All the positive stats in the world won't count for anything if we don't finish the job on Sunday, so to everyone that's going, please create the atmosphere the team need, and be patient. We have to win, we don't have to score in the first 10 minutes!

Hold on mate,,

Its a brilliant stat, regardless what we done otherwise, we beat plenty of lesser teams while we achieved it and I would sooner we lost the 6 games we did to "lesser teams than to our main competition for the title..every win against them is three points we got and three they didn't,

We can't be expected to go unbeaten and I'd rather the concentration was spot on against the big boys (apart from our next game) as theres a lot more chance of winning while not at their best against the others.

I wouldn't be taking anything away from the achievement of beating UTD arsenal and Liverpool home and away and I think if you shaved two of the losses off and repeated the feat it would mean the title next year..give me those stats now and I'd take them.

Regardless of Saturdays outcome I think we've had a brilliant season considering the injuries and the fact that we have got a new manager. My hopes for Sunday are a winand Drogba to net a few to give him the golden boot.

I don't care how we do it, just give me a 1-0 win with Wigan hitting the woodwork 3 times and have 2 stonewall penalties turned down and I'll be happy. Although it would be nice to break the 100 goal barrier.
