Castiel
Anyone watching? No Chelsea contingent but we might get to see Carragher lose us the game. :D
Maksimov
If I was English, I'd be absolutely furious that Carragher is allowed anywhere near the national team. But as I'm not, I couldn't care less. :D
loz
2-1 England at half time. England without the Chelsea boys look just about capable of giving Honduras a good game. Pretty poor stuff so far.
Castiel
Absolutely dire. We only got 2-0 up to begin with thanks to Crouch's ridiculous height. We've got nothing on the favourites.
loz
Mexico's goal is comical defending of the highest order. Leighton Baines doing a fair impression of Pauly's Under 11s team's left back.

sleepy_gonzalez
England friendly summary brought to you by the SunMirrorMail: 1. King was brilliant 2, Despite King's goal, the england defense is lacking in every area 3. King is lacking in every area, Particularly the knee ligament area. 4.Ledley King looks every bit as good as he does at Tottenham. Quite good when you forget Terry. Knees made of crunchie bars and paper. He scored, maybe we can rely on him. Would be great if we could rely on him. We can't. Let's play him. Every game. 5.Ferdinand was awful 6.Support The SunMirrorMail's new campaign to rename Ferdinand 'The Rock' 7. Terry is brilliant 8. Terry is awful 9. Terry's positional sense was sorely lacking from a lacklustre England defense that was shaky, despite Carrick's sterling efforts. 10. Carrick is every bit the uninteresting, un-excellent, potential waste of a squad place everyone wouldn't say he is, won't say he was, and then will agree he was after we go out in the knock out stages. Should have played Hargreaves or Barry. 11. Hargreaves/Barry are surplus to requirements. Carrick should play. 12. Chelsea stars no longer needed: Gerrard copes adequately in 'letting nation down after long period of hope' role. Lampard deemed too professional/too unilkely to attempt chip from 40 yards when keeper on line. 13. Joe Cole's World Cup Heartache [if this headline does not appear in the next 2 years i will run the london marathon] 14. Joe Hart for England 15. Joe Hart for next infidelity/affair/roast/exposé story 16. Joe Hart to replace Triesman 17. Triesman to replace 'Treason' as oficial word for national betrayal 18. Was it really his fault? 18. Sorry Max Clifford your client is lovely and I wish her all the best

dkw
I quite honestly think i couldn't done a better job out than than Carrick out there. He was awful. What exactly does he do in a team? I honestly have no idea what his role is, other than to pass 2 yards (yet still manage to give it away) and not bother tackling. sleepy_gonzalez how on earth can they say King was superb, he was awful. It was worrying how often he was out of position and how easily he was beaten time after time. And as for Gerrard, well we had his usual england non-game, went missing again. The best thing about last night is it will now shut up all the f**kwits who say no Chelsea players should be in the team, if that team last night played in the world cup they wouldnt get a point. bjd
I actually agree that Mikel has more in his locker than Carrick, which really says a lot more about Carrick than it does Mikel! 12. Chelsea stars no longer needed: Gerrard copes adequately in 'letting nation down after long period of hope' role. Lampard deemed too professional/too unilkely to attempt chip from 40 yards when keeper on line. That was so funny. It was a crap effort , totally pointless. Didnt stop Tydsley acting like he was drowning in a bucket of his own semen.

But as I'm not, I couldn't care less. :D that steaming hypocrite adrian durham said yesterday that anyone booing Carragher should be thrown out of wembley. and this coming from someone who encouraged people to boo John Terry while playing for england over something that was not only unproven but was also none of their bloody business. when Glenn Johnson scored, it looked to me like he scuffed the shot. he literally mis-hit it an' it 'it the back of the net. somehow. and somehow england won. not impressed. Castiel
Man of the match was Keeper Rob Green in my eyes. And anyone who remembers Chelsea v Spurs when we mostly agreed Cech was MotM can see why I think so. Even though it was a friendly I feel like we robbed Mexico of that win, spare some flashes of hope in the second half it was a shambles. Mexico were pretty toothless in attack, but if we're going to concede that much possession and completely flounder in defence/mid field against Spain, Argentina or Brazil we'll be cut to pieces. I guess we'll just have to see if the addition of the Chelsea boys on Sunday helps our case. Still looked like the age old England problem though, didn't look like a team effort at all - just 11 individual efforts.
PloKoon13
It says a lot about our performance that a pretty average Glen Johnson was our runaway man of the match. Ferdinand was atrocious. Even Carragher was an improvement. He shouldn't be in the squad, let alone the captain. Baines looked out of his depth and was torn apart down the left. Ashley Cole was sorely missed. Gerrard was largely poor and didn't contribute a great deal to the attack. Lampard was sorely missed. King was average and got beaten several times. Don't let the free header from three yards out fool you. Carrick showed yet again that Parker should be in the team over him. Milner was wasted in a defensive role. The first two goals only came because of England's height advantage over the Mexican defence. The second goal was also offside. Without the Chelsea boys, England looked like also-rans at best. Randy36
It was a very poor performance despite the 3-1 score. Milner and Carrick assigned as holding midfielders were anonymous. They didn't show up and allowed the back four to be constantly exposed to Mexico's fast breaks. Rio Ferdinand was pathetic and slow to react when confronted by Vela and Des Santos. It will be a relief when Ashley Cole, John Terry and Lamps return to the squad. In the meantime, Capello has some work to do to straighten things out.
