Wow...wish the matches were on at better times here.....

Would love to watch both live, but will have to settle for either going to bed late, or waking up early...I think it'll have to be the Eng v Ger match...record the other :(

I predict:

Germany-England 1-1(Podolski, A.Cole), overtime goal for germany by Mueller.

Argentina-Mexico 2-1(Higuain x 2, Blanco)

Hope for two great games. Usually these massive games just don't live up to their name. Yesterday's games were very good so I'm hoping it will continue.

England 2-1 Germany (Defoe, Lampard - Lahm)

Mexico 0-3 Argentina (Messi, Messi, Higuain)

Wonderful afternoon and evening for us football lovers!

The pacing of this tournament is awful. There needed to be a couple of off days after the group stages ended. All these games are being played on two days rest now and the teams all need to travel. The quality of the games would be much better. Also from a fan perspective it would have been nice to have a little time to reflect on what has happened and actually think about how the bracket will end up.

The pitches seem to be deteriorating as well. The pitch during the Uruguay v South Korea game was abysmal in places.

It isn't any different from past World Cups. That has been the the standard format for at least the alst 4 world cups - not sure about before that. I think they maybe was a small brak befoe group stages quite a while ago.

I think your right but they should have started on Wednesday June 9, ended the group stages last Wednesday and given everyone Thursday and Friday off. Now this is pretty far down on my list of complaints to address with FIFA, so when Sepp finally takes my meeting it might not make our discussion. All I know is I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything, I can only imagine how the players feel.

Argentina are playing pretty well. Higuain just cloud have made it 3-0. At this point only their defense can be their undoing, which is perfectly possible, but I don't see Mexico putting on the pressure.
