Posted April 25, 201114 yr Saw this on the rumour mill and had to wonder. Also I started the colossal Torres coming here thread last year and it came to pass so lets see if I can do the brace! Quality player in a largely average squad I think. He is the definition of a creative midfielder which is one of the things we lack at present. He's also a field leader, in the sense that he's quite a commanding presence and isn't afraid to go forward or take shots at goal. Bottom line, how many would want him if he became available and why - or would his connections with Arsenal prove to much or is he just not as good as I think he is? The reason I think a move here is remotely possible is because he'd become a squad player behind some ridiculous talent in Barcelona - he certainly needs them a lot more than they need him and that may not be good enough.
April 25, 201114 yr I would perhaps go for a younger star like Pastore or just stick with the future lineup of Mcheachran, Ramires, and Piazon.
April 25, 201114 yr Exactly the same situation as Ashley Cole and Torres...can't stand the bloke...but if he signs for Chelsea, I'm sure those feelings would subside greatly. I don't know that he'd be the best option though. For the money he'd cost (realistically about the same as Torres, if not more), there would be options significantly better value. I still think we could have got a striker other than Torres who could be as good for a lot less. Also, I doubt Fabregas would leave for another EPL team...except perhaps City who would probably offer him 300,000 a week to forget all about his Barcelona dream. So in short...don't like him, but acknowledge his skill. If we somehow managed to get him, I'd welcome him, but wish we'd looked at someone much cheaper.
April 25, 201114 yr I think this season he's looked half the player he used to be. Still a very good passer but that he's lost a lot of his dynamism. Whether that's down to burn out and the injuries or events of last summer I'm not sure. Anyway I'd be firmly against spending what would be easily 30m+ on him. Of course the fact that he's a c**t is another problem.
April 25, 201114 yr They need a goalscorer...straight swap with Anelka? To be honest, as talented a footballer as he is, I think as fans we can only put up with one £50m pissy, moany Spaniard!!
April 25, 201114 yr I would perhaps go for a younger star like Pastore or just stick with the future lineup of Mcheachran, Ramires, and Piazon. Piazon's a second striker, and not a midfielder
April 25, 201114 yr He has great talent, but I can't see him coming here at all. He'll be at Barcelona at the end of the season, plus he doesn't have the goalscoring knack of Frank, and we need a goal scoring midfielder, obviously whoever we get will never be as good as Frank, but someone who can pitch in with 10 there or thereabouts a season. Fabregas won't be able to do that. He has the creativity we need, but we'd lose an absolutely vital factor in our midfield.

But like I said, been a shadow of that player this season. Maybe he's forcing a move to Barcelona.
April 25, 201114 yr Cesc is pretty injury prone and the amount of money arsene would want wouldn't be worth it imo
April 25, 201114 yr I wouldn't want Fabregas, can't stand him. I'd rather have someone like Wesley Sneijder

April 25, 201114 yr As a player he is exactly what we currently need, a young and hungry playmaker. Unfortunately he`s an absolute w**ker. So I`m the same as Cam, currently dont want him because he`s such a horrible little scrote, but if he signed then he instantly becomes our horrible little scrote and I would support him.

April 25, 201114 yr Does he want to go to Barca. He must have seen what happened to the clown Macherano
April 25, 201114 yr Will suit Barca down to the ground. Snidey sly little sh*tbag, all smiley when winning, f**king horrible little worm when not. Exactly like the majority of Barca players.

April 25, 201114 yr Author He has great talent, but I can't see him coming here at all. Fabregas won't be able to do that. He has the creativity we need, but we'd lose an absolutely vital factor in our midfield. No doubt he wouldn't be scoring as much as Lamps every season even if he can reach pretty high numbers for a midfielder, but his creative play would no doubt compensate that by facilitating our strikers with a lot more assists. As a player he is exactly what we currently need, a young and hungry playmaker. Unfortunately he`s an absolute w**ker. Best answer so far!

April 26, 201114 yr Cesc Fabregas Would we want him here? So we can boo him every game? Cant stand his attitude. Always has a chip on his shoulder despite acheivig glittle to nothing on a club level. I like how he threw his club under the bus for not buying good enough players and then tried to claim/insinuate some credit for the invincible season where he made zero league appearances(starts or subs). Coincidentally he made 33 apps the next season and became a regular since.... and have won nothing since either! Spits at opponents, talks crap about his own team, tries to unsettle his own team to force a transfer etc etc..... ya, I think we get enough drama around here as it is. Would rather splash the same amount of cash in an attempt to lure Ozil.
April 26, 201114 yr I think he is okay. However, I am worried that he doesn't have that "Winning Mentality". Can't blame him tough, he is an Arsenal player.
