Posted May 9, 201114 yr http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_6923694,00.html? Chelsea want Gianfranco Zola to become a coach at Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports News sources. Chelsea are six points behind Premier League leaders Manchester United, with two games to go after their 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday. Sources say there is no suggestion the former West Ham manager is being lined up to replace manager Carlo Ancelotti and discussions will focus on a coaching role at the club where he scored 80 goals in 312 games. Zola is not yet believed to have been contacted by Chelsea and a club spokesman said the club would not comment on "speculation".
May 9, 201114 yr This would be fantastic news and something I've been hoping for ever since Wilkins departed. Haven't been able to warm to Emenalo, ever though I know nothing about the bloke. Love the idea of Franco coaching the likes of Josh and Kakuta. We may get a new free-kick specialist - we could certainly do with one!
May 9, 201114 yr damn, got me all excited... thought it had actually happened. Edited May 9, 201114 yr by footballoholic
May 9, 201114 yr Breaking news on Sky Sports News that accooding to Sky Sports News sources Zola has been offered a coaching role at Chelsea!
May 9, 201114 yr i thought they were going to target him but no formal offer has been made? sure it says he has been offered it?
May 9, 201114 yr Would be excellent if true, even just for the morale boost! Imagine him teaching Josh a few additional skills. Don't want to get my hopes up though... I always thought we should have gone for Robbie D... but I guess coaching may be a step back for him.
May 9, 201114 yr Yes 'Chelsea target Zola for coaching role' is the exact words. I think this would be a great move. Does that mean Carlo is staying? Did he have a say in it? They were together at Parma so know eachother well.
May 9, 201114 yr The reporters seem to be saying that Chelsea think he'd work well with Ancelotti, why would we do that then sack him? Sounds like good news if its true.
May 9, 201114 yr The good news is that Sky generally dont report things unless true or had proper information unlike a newspaper. Lets hope and I would like to see this done as sooon as, and for the club to confirm carlo's future. Then we can prepare for the preseason and next season which will only be good for us imo
May 9, 201114 yr Carlo and Zola? I'd love it actually Me too...the blessed no 25 shirt maybe coming back!!!!
May 9, 201114 yr This is also a good way to make the supporters a bit more happy after we failed to win anything this season.
May 9, 201114 yr Lest we forget Romans attempts to get Franco back at Chelsea when he first came in. I'm positively excited.

May 9, 201114 yr Is this happening?! who knows.. I hope so! Well you'd be the first to know so tell us as & when!!
May 9, 201114 yr Your being ironic, right? I would love to see this happen, get Franco in and have a succession plan in place. Sky aren't brilliant but I've never known them to flat out come up with bullsh*t without any factual basis like papers do.
May 9, 201114 yr Author Well you'd be the first to know so tell us as & when!! I'll let you know after I meet him.
May 9, 201114 yr Sky aren't brilliant but I've never known them to flat out come up with bullsh*t without any factual basis like papers do. Really? They are as bad as any of the papers at times, worse in the run up to the close of the transfer window. I`m not saying this wont happen by the way, I would love to see Franco back and wouldnt be surprised if he did return, I just wouldnt hold anything Sky say as fact.
May 9, 201114 yr This would be excellent news and a big morale boost for all connected with Chelsea if it actually happens,at least our free kicks/crosses should improve 100%!.

Oh no we can't jump to conclusions saying that if Sky have it then it's solid, but like Castiel said, Sky don't just pluck random stories with hardly any bearing and make them breaking news.
