programme cover for Queens Park Rangers v Chelsea, Saturday, 24th Sep 1977 Sat 24th Sept 1977. A 1-1 draw at Loftus Road . in front of 26,267. Our scorer was Kenny Swain in the 27th min.

Don Mason equalised for them in the 77th min.

Mason would have an eventful 1977/78, later that season move to join Bruce Rioch and Tommy Docherty at Derby County.

He'd score a vital penalty for Scotland v Wales at Anfiled in a World Cup Qualifier. The score was 0-0 at the time.

However he would see one saved v Perun in the Scotland opening World Cup game v Peru with the score at 1-1.

programme cover for Chelsea v Middlesbrough, Saturday, 24th Sep 1983 A 0-0 draw that was Clive Walker's last game for us.   ::clap2::

I will always thank Clive for what he did for us.::clap2::

A brother of a mate of mine was an apprentice printer ( when the print game was the best trade going) who used to work for the company that printed Chelsea and Wimbledon programmes in this era.

For some reason can’t remember him ever giving away programmes that he’d chored from work ( his brother was/ is a Chelsea fan), so maybe he was squeaky clean.

At the time the Print College was at Elephant and Castle. His evening class coincided with Millwall v Chelsea in the League Cup 84-85. Remember him saying Is was murder round the Elephant that night.

Think I know the guy. He used to have colour sections of the programme in sheets before it was cut up. If it’s same guy I think his name began with a G!

Different bloke mate. Three brothers, PB, SB, CB. ( PB’s quite well known in CFC twitter circles I’m told)

SB and CB were in print. Think like a lot of others they got out when it went digital

Coincidence! This guy used to sit on the benches with us for a couple of years around 83-86 and use to use the same coach for away  games.

Ha. They’re a nice family. Five year difference between PB and his brother C- remember when C used to be an Everton fan before he saw the light.

PB’s definately done his bit over the years- believe he took a back seat for a bit to watch his boy play.

There used to be quite a few printers at Chelsea. AR who was part of the Mitcham firm, BS from Norwood whose now a millionaire etc ( Still goes with his kids)

From a website called mod to suedehead.

When we're talking football I was wondering about the following: I think it's generally accepted that skinheads started in the East End whereas the North Bank Arsenal was apparently the first skinhead 'end' that was being established a such. Comments?
Not sure that skinheads started in East London, I like to think it was West London

I started to go 68/69 season by 73 i had been nicked 13 times, 10 of which was related to Football. Even now at 57 i look back with no regrets,  I remember against Arsenal 69/70 season coming out of Chelsea ground, I heard a rumble looking up i saw Thousands of Arsenal coming at us, for a moment we turned to run, but because of shear numbers no one could run so we turned and ran at them, I had a bloke come at me with a axe, he chased me around a parked car, I dived over the car and landed under a Police Horse, and managed to get away.

Presume this was written a few years ago, as if recently, then the guy would surely be 67, not 57??.

Yep and the photo looks like Peacock scoring to beat Utd 1-0 earlier that month chased by a younger Steve Bruce.

programme cover for Chelsea v Millwall, Wednesday, 26th Sep 1984 26th Sept 84 v Millwall. 3-1 win in Milk Cup, with King Kerry scoring two of our goals. Nutton OG was our other goal scorer.

It went off outside the Pelican that night. Remember it also happening in the North Stand during the first half - at the time the consensus was it was West Ham in there but not 100% on that. I don’t remember any Millwall in the seats or the Shed.

Ps Great pic of Speedie there. He had a tremendous leap on him. The only other player I’ve seen with a spring like that was Gary Speed RIP

I recall a couple of others, Tim Cahill and our own Frank Spencer Sinclair.
