Best goal I ever saw Dixon score (and that's saying something) was in the replay at Goodison. He got the ball on the left wing, beat a player or two (while at full speed) cut inside and hit a right foot screamer from outside the corner edge of the area that curled around Nev Southall to just where the post and crossbar meet on the far right of the goal. All this while running full pelt. It was a stunning, stunning goal, one of those that takes the breath away. A real shame it was never filmed.

We won 2-1. Darren Wood got sent off if I remember rightly. Wasn't a great turnout, not many on the terrace, most were in the seats but we sure made some noise. We were giving it the "ten men, we only had ten men" over and over again. They were a damn good side, Everton, in those days but we gave better than we got. There was the 4-3 at their place in the league and the 1-1 draw later in 86 when we were on course for the title and they equalised with 3 mins to go. Good times.

I actually taped the radio commentary to this game as i did with most of ours...and i prob still have it somewhere.

If you ever find it and listen to it please let me know if my recollection of that goal is in any way accurate. Probably my memory playing tricks but I remember it as I described it above.

Certainly mate....If i remember correctly only the 2nd half was live....I also have Man U away when Kerry Scored right at the end 2-1....Possibly at my parents because i know i would never chuck them.

Cheers

I wrote to LBC i think it was & got a short recording of our game away to Austria Vienna, i went but my mate couldnt go & listened to the commentary, at the start of the game Alan Mullery stood up & his co commentator said why are you standing Alan? to which A.M replied just listen to that & in the back ground was GOD SAVE THE QUEEN being sung loud as f@ck by 5,000 of us, he also mentioned various Chelsea flags including mine, he said Chelsea have a massive following here from all necks of the wood, Sutton, Hounslow, Scarborough, Bath to name a few.

Sadly the recording i got is different to the one my mate heard, still good though.

Seen these photos many times and the amount of kids is amazing.

If we redevelop or have to move we MUST have something special in place ticket wise for kids who just want to turn up like we used to.

Yep it was, the east stand was demolished infact.

Cant remember that, but i'm sure it was the first game of that season.

On the footage you can see boardings all along the touchline where the east stand once stood.

My first game was the season before, we beat West Ham 3-1 and I stood at the bottom of the old East Stand. Don't remember a great deal, even though I was 11. All I remember was the score that is how I found out it was March 1972. Any info?

Just came across this and thought I'd share. Lot's of old boys represented, must have been done pre RA.

Sorry didn't realize how out of focus it was.

Ross Fraser stopped going to games after he got attacked in Zitkov in 95 by CFC/C18, they attacked him on a coach in the coach park, report here, about it.
