In fairness, I think that he did suffer a bit because of being Ray's brother, nobody could live up to that. I'm just a bit too young to have seen Graham Wilkins in all his glory! You're right though, can't have been easy for the bloke having such a natural talent like Butch as a brother. Canners speaks favourably about Wilkins G in his book actually. In one of his first training sessions at Chelsea, Graham was encouraging him to take him on and show the other players how good he was, so I imagine it stems from that.

As I think we've discussed before one of the best days out at Wembley. Up there with the 1997 FA Cup victory. I must have the programme for the game. Buried amongst the hundreds of programmes I have at home. To think that we played Southampton the day before. There were some Rangers fans at the game and they had watched their team draw 4-4 with Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday. Goals galore. A mate of mine is a ST holder at City and left a few minutes before the end when we were winning 5-1. On his way out, he heard a cheer and thought Chelsea had scored a sixth goal Got home to discover that the game finished 5-4.

Wonderful day It was a good day out and for most of us the first time we'd seen Chelsea at Wembley but I could never get emotional about winning a two bob trophy that all the top teams of the day didn't enter. Grimsby was the first time I'd seen Chelsea win anything and means far more than the Full Members which could be the name of a porn film
November 20, 20205 yr Has DDR Blue been banned ? Anyway they opened the gates to let us in that day at Wembley ( v city) there was so many trying to get in, , got lead into terraces via the big tunnel behind the goal, can't recall if it was the players tunnel though. Brilliant day, I felt very emotional at the end, had something in my eye I think ! Edited November 20, 20205 yr by The Rising Sun Explanation added

My parents went and were in another part of our end, it was so rammed some including them were taken out via a ladder, they went off and had a McDonald’s oblivious of score until we met them back at car after the game, yes quite right up there with 97
